Peru to Bolivia: Cusco to La Paz
In this Video you can see one of the possibilities how to travel from Cusco to La Paz. On the way we passed Puno & Copacabana and we had some awesome views on the Lake Titicaca and the beautiful landscape around. For more compilations visit my Channel!

Cusco to La Paz, Oct. 2017
We travelled from Cusco to La Paz using Bolivia Hop buses.
Though reviews of the tour agency were really good, we didn't find this trip safe at all.
To start with, we got into a real nice new bus, which was changed to a much older bus at the Peru-Bolivia border. Drivers were wreckles overtaking anyone on the roads, no matter safety.
What's more, we were crossing Titicaca lake at Strait of Tiquina at night where we were sat into small wooden boats, more or less 20 of us in each boat, no lights or lifejackets. While the bus was floated over the lake on some log platform.
When we finally reached La Paz, guides were catching taxis on the streets to transfer us to hotels. There were 6 of us in one taxi (two people in the front seat).
Tip: make sure to have cash for a Visa when crossing the border as few people struggled to exchange currency.

Bolivia: From La Paz to Uyuni
Our World tour brought us to Bolivia. A beautiful country full of beautiful people. We spend a few days in the capital La Paz before flying to the desert of salt Uyuni which is a place like no other on earth.
We then ended our trip in Copacabana by the famous lake titicaca.
Exploring Lake Titicaca with Bolivia Hop | Copacabana, Bolivia
Today started off with a long journey from La Paz to Copacabana. This town is on the shores of Lake Titicaca on the Bolivian side. We jumped on a small ferry and travelled to Isla Del Sol, which the ancient Incans used to worship the sun gods. It was a quiet, small little island. After this we were so excited because we left Bolivia and officially entered Peru!

December 3, 2016 - The Bolivian border crossing has to be one of the most tedious borders for US Citizens. Thankfully we had PeruHop to provide a guideline and help us with any translation issues. It took over an hour for both of us to get stamped, but it was worth the hassle. If you're planning to visit, here is what you will need BEFORE you get to the border:
Visa Requirements for US Citizens:
1. Passport
2. Immigration Card
3. 2 Passport Photos
4. 2 Photo Copies of Passport
5. Photocopy Yellow Fever Vaccine
6. Printed day to day Itinerary
7. Exit Ticket
8. Printed Bank Statement
9. Printed Hotel/Hostel Reservation
10. $160 USD - CRISP BILLS! Bring extra money because you'd be surprised at the bills they turn away
Once you get your Bolivian Visa, it is good for 10 years as long as you don't lose your passport.

BOLIVIA Part II (La Paz y Copacabana)
BOLIVIA, BOLIVIA, BOLIVIA
Travelled 9 hours from Uyuni and were woken to find that we had arrived in La Paz at 4am. There was something airy about La Paz as we passed hung bodies, witches markets with Llama fetuses, and told by a local that bodies are buried underneath houses as sacrifices for pachamama. We were also steps away from one of the world's most notorious institutions, a society within itself where inmates guard each other, the San Pedro prison. A week before we arrived a Bolivian minister was kidnapped and beaten to death.
At greater than 3500m high, the city that touches the clouds was however fascinating. With soaring altitudes the Bolivian football team were guaranteed a home advantage win and the main form of transport included the world's highest cable car ride (telefericos) at 3 Bolivianos per trip.
We crossed lake Titicaca to settle in Copacabana for two days and visited the infamous Isla del Sol. The altitude kept getting higher and our bodies were still acclimatizing. So with it's quaint atmosphere, friendly locals, and beautiful sunsets, Copacabana and Isla del Sol were great places to chill. We observed our fair share of pigs, donkeys, horses, and llamas walking on sunshine, and had a good serving of trout and rice. A local fave! Curiously, the trout consumed by the bucket load is not native to the lake.
Thanks to Red Cap City Walking tours, Bolivia Hop bus (La Paz - Copacabana - Cusco), and the cholita who sold us the really cheap tickets to Isla del Sol (we got lost but found our way back).

How to take bus from Puno, Peru to La Paz, Bolivia
Taking bus from Puno to La Paz was very easy. Puno is a city along Lake Titicaca in Peru. From there you can take a bus to cross the border to Bolivia. You can just go to the bus terminal the day before or the day of to get a ticket. There are plenty of tourist bus that go directly from Puno to Copacabana to La Paz. You get a semi recliner seat, air conditioning and toilet with the tourist bus. If you're feeling adventurous you can also take the local bus which stops on each town along the road.
One thing to keep in mind is that at some point of the journey from Copacabana to La Paz you will have to get off the bus to take a small boat across the lake. The bus is transported by another ferry across the lake. You will have to pay a small fee to get on the boat. It's not a hassle as it's a beautiful view.
