Salt Marsh Cove Farm, Edgecomb, Maine.
Salt Marsh Cove Farm is a rarity in today’s market: a true salt water farm. Located off the River Road in Edgecomb, halfway between the popular communities of Boothbay and Damariscotta, this exceptional property enjoys convenient access to area attractions. The 36 acres of rolling fields, manicured grounds and mature forests provide seclusion and privacy that only a land holding of this size can provide. Salt Marsh Cove is a tranquil cove along the west shore of the Damariscotta River. It offers wonderful views and wildlife watching. Within the 1,100 feet of water frontage is the old mail boat landing which makes an ideal place from which to launch kayaks or small boats. The property also offers the possibility to construct several additional residences.
The access to the main residence is down a winding gravel road, which passes over a bridge as you sweep by the trout pond, finally passing under stately oaks as you arrive in the main courtyard of he residence. Close by is a 1200 sf passive solar, energy-efficient guest house, garages, utility buildings and a glass greenhouse with attached potting shed. The main residence is an imposing 4,300 sq. ft. structure built in the 1960’s on the site of the original farm. Inside there is a grand formal living room with a fireplace, large formal entry hall, dining room, kitchen with adjoining family room, office, laundry room with half bath, and a mud room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two with private full baths, and a luxurious three room master suite with fireplace. Two decks allow for outside entertaining and enjoyment of the water views. This is a one of a kind property with 5-star investment potential.

Thank you for a wonderful week of relaxation in this peaceful setting. I've heard so much about the lake, the cottages, and the Kendalls... all three exceeded my expectations. This is clearly a very special place and so well cared for with so many warm touches... Amazing meals full of fresh vegetables and good conversation. Henry and I loved being here... Thank you for everything! Our stay was wonderful - what scenery you live with every day!
Thanks for everything! You truly have a special place Lee and I loved being here. Please thank your father for the carrots and basil and extra logs. It's easy to linger on these stunning coastal hikes... and last night we were entranced by the Quoddy Head bogs. We'd love to be here again sometime.
Mary
We had a great time at the cabin. Such great fishing. Also during the week we saw a bear... a deer in the field near the cabin, and many Bald Eagles and hawks. The cabin is laid out very good and it is a pleasure to stay in. My wife loved the kitchen... This is my sixth or eight time here and it is hard to leave. Joshua and Anna Loved the cabin! It is peaceful here, a great opportunity to really relax. Everyone was so gracious, we felt like part of the family. Thanks for the special touches - flowers and fresh-picked strawberries.
Gilbert and Jo
Thanks for the hospitality and personal touches. The strawberries were very sweet and most welcome. I really miss Maine wildflowers, so we especially appreciated the bouquets. Thanks for making our friends feel so welcome in Perry and surrounding areas.
BJ and Frank
After vacationing in this part of Maine for the past 20-plus years, we can honestly say that Wildflower Cottage is our favorite home base. We will miss the lonely loon calls, eagles, sunsets, diving off the dock, boating around Boyden Lake, eating lobster...
The De Lorenzos
We have enjoyed our stay in Wildflower Cottage. I think it is our third time here. There are unique things about each cottage that we enjoy, but the most important thing is just to be here and relax. We have eaten well from your bountiful vegetable garden and enjoyed the beautiful flowers. We hope to stay longer next time.
Virginia
Such a magical place to stay during our first visit to the Northeast for the Fall colors! Between the beauty and serenity of this property, the gentle and genuine hospitality of the Kendall family, the loons calling, the coastal trails, and maritime villages -- we could not have hoped for more. This place is a treasure.
