Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry in Big Bend National Park Panoramic View
Boquillas open _ Day 3 _ 2013 by b wunderlich
Boquillas Mexico was officially and legally opened on April 10, 2013. This movie and photographs were taken on Day 3 of the open border at Boquillas, April 13. The port of entry to Boquillas, Mexico is in the Big Bend National Park on the Texas side. A long awaited celebration.
Lilia Falcon talks about her father who opened the Jose Falcon Restaurant in 1973, and the opening of the legal crossing 2 days earlier. Victor (singing Victor) sings at the entry to Boquillas on the Rio Grande, Ernesto is still organizing the enfrastructure (to be videoed at a later date).

Boquillas Port of Entry Reopens
Hidden within the Big Bend Mountains is a village that has waited years to come back to life.
After a boat ride or a walk across the Rio Grande a horse awaits then takes you to the small town of Boquillas, Mexico. There tourists can eat, shop, and enjoy the atmosphere.
83-year-old Joaquin Sanchez Luna has lived in this area his entire life.
He says he performed to anyone who wanted to listen.
But after the 9/11 attacks the Boquillas Port of Entry closed...silencing the city.
This abandoned building was Mr. Castillo's store, Maribel Falcon points out the scares it left behind.
Without the tourism..many families like hers were forced apart in order to make another living.
12-years-later after a new building for headquarters was put on place, The Port of Entry is open and Maribel is back.
I'm so excited to be here once again reminds me of beautiful memories I ran around in this place I went to school here, my family lives here, she said.
Boquillas' long lost visitors are returning.
It's still the same place and that's great, said one tourist.
It was fun to reconnect with them after so many years, now I brought my daughter, said another tourist.
Now Big Bend has a missing part of its culture back where it belongs.
Once you get back, the park requires travelers to scan their passport in the kiosk and talk to customs in El Paso over the phone, Once they're cleared they're good to go.
Just make sure you get back before 6p.m. or you might be staying over night in Mexico because The Boquillas Port of Entry closes and reopens at 9 a.m.
BOQUILLAS CROSSING
This video of the crossing from Big Bend National Park, Texas to Boquillas Del Carmen, Mexico was recorded in Oct. 2015. The weather was warm and sunny. The people frendly and polite. A wonderful experience.

Ep. 119: Big Bend National Park | Texas RV travel camping
In this episode of Grand Adventure we're deep in the Chihuahuan Desert, the second largest desert in North America. We're right on the Mexican border, on the banks of the Rio Grande River in the Big Bend area of beautiful West Texas. This is part 1 of our two-part series from the Big Bend.
We're visiting Big Bend National Park. This National Park is massive, encompassing 801,000 acres, the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology in the United States. It includes approximately 118 miles of America's national boundary with Mexico along the Rio Grande, designated a wild and scenic river. We'll see Boquillas Canyon, the Boquillas Port of Entry river crossing to Mexico, the Hot Springs Historic Area, Panther Junction, the Chisos Mountains and Chisos Basin, and the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive. We'll show you the National Park's Rio Grande Village Campground, Chisos Basin Campground and Cottonwood Campground, as well as Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Golf Resort in the tiny riverside hamlet of Lajitas, where we're staying ourselves.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Big Bend: Mexico Border Shenanigans
Big Bend National Park. We camped at the Rio Grande Village RV Park with full hook ups. We hosted our first guests in the camper, Natasha and Billy.
This is our second time for Natasha and I to visit Big Bend and we still haven't seen it all! This is, by far, the best National Park in the west. There is such variety of things to do.
In this video we visited Terlingua's Ghost Town, Santa Elena Canyons, Old Ore Road, Sotol Overlook, and Boquillas overlook. Not featured was our late night soak in the hot springs on the Rio Grande.

We spent two wonderful weeks in late 2017 traveling around west Texas and visiting a number of great parks and campgrounds. In this video we tour the Eastern side of Big Bend National Park and visit the primary points of interest in this part of Big Bend National Park. The high light of this part of our visit to Big Bend National Park was the drive into and out of the Hot Springs.

BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, Texas (AP) — The bloody drug war in Mexico shows no sign of relenting. Neither do calls for tighter border security amid rising fears of spillover violence.
This hardly seems a time the U.S. would be willing to allow people to cross the border legally from Mexico without a customs officer in sight. But in this rugged, remote West Texas terrain where wading across the shallow Rio Grande undetected is all too easy, federal authorities are touting a proposal to open an unmanned port of entry as a security upgrade........
