Boston Public Market Tour
BOSTON, EXPLORING the historic open-air HAYMARKET (MASSACHUSETTS, USA) ????????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to Haymarket, Boston's centuries-old outdoor market, which is located close to the Freedom Trail in the historic heart of Boston. Haymarket and the small brick-and-mortar food shops line up Blackstone Avenue and form a vibrant market district along with Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Boston Public Market.
Although sellers of fresh produce have clustered in the current-day Haymarket location since around 1830, merchants of various sorts started congregating in the general vicinity (probably closer to Faneuil Marketplace) as early as the 1600s.
At the edge of Haymarket, you'll find the elegant Millennium Bostonian Hotel, around the corner you can enjoy some of Boston's most historic pubs and restaurants, and just to the east is the Rose Kennedy Greenway, site of seasonal farmers' markets.
Of course, since Boston is quite compact, you're also surrounded by present-day skyscrapers, traffic, and trendy shops - but if you want to get a taste of old Boston plus the biggest produce bargains in town, Haymarket is the perfect place for anyone to begin his/hers explorations.
Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding. One stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is a popular marketplace.
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.

The Historic Quincy Market Tour - Boston (HD)
The historic Quincy Market is one of the top tourist attractions of Boston. This historic food market still serves as a food market where you can find tens of restaurants offering New England and international food.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace Boston Ma United States
Faneuil Hall was founded in 1742 by Peter Faneuil as a central marketplace for crops and livestock in downtown Boston. At first there was opposition to the new marketplace from farmers who feared a competitive buyer's market would cut profits.
The famed Golden Grasshopper weathervane was placed atop Faneuil Hall in 1742. From this perch, the grasshopper has witnessed the remarkable growth of the city and over 260 years of American history in the making.
In 1761, a fire at Faneuil Hall damaged the grasshopper weathervane. Thomas Drowne, a blacksmith and the son of the grasshopper's creator, repaired the weathervane and inserted a time capsule in its stomach. The capsule, which is engraved Food for the Grasshopper, includes historical newspapers, coins, and messages from mayors that have been added as the grasshopper has been periodically refurbished.
As England attempted to impose taxes on the colonies, Faneuil Hall emerged as an important meeting place, hosting the Sons of Liberty as they resisted the taxes and debated the important issues of the day.

Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall Boston & Food (4K)
Quincy Market in Boston MA is a popular destination for folks visiting the area, and for us, it was easy to see why. Inside, the selection of food at the food court is pretty amazing. We couldn't decide what to get and went with safe choices- Lobster Roll and Clam Chowder (from Boston Chowda). They were really, really good- pretty much the best we've ever had. The lobster roll had so much claw meat- super tasty. The lobster bisque was okay- but why pick that when you can get the much tastier clam chowder. Outside the market it was a festive scene- plenty of live music and street performers.
We also took a look inside the historic Faneuil Hall across from Quincy Market. Apparently that was where pro-independence from Great Britain speeches were made by Samuel Adams, James Otis, and others. A well-known stop on the Freedom Trail, and is sometimes known as the Cradle of Liberty.
This was from July 2018 after we returned from a 14 night Cuba cruise round trip Boston.

One of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston has its origins in 1630 and was the site of several key battles during the American Revolution. Today, the city is home to more than six million people and is known for its Irish pub-style bars, Boston Red Sox fans and the relaxed vibe of a small town.

Boston, Massachusetts, USA - Part II
Travel by Numbers heads to Boston, Massachusetts, USA, just one hour north of the southern Cape Cod area.
In this episode we visit the New England Holocaust Memorial. The Memorial began with a Holocaust survivor, Stephan Ross (Szmulek Rozental), who was imprisoned at the age of nine and whose parents, one brother and five sisters were murdered by the Nazis. Between 1940 and 1945, Stephan survived 10 different concentration camps. His back was broken by a guard who caught him stealing a raw potato; another time he was hung for eating a potato. Tuberculosis wracked his body. He once hid in an outhouse, submerged to his neck in human waste, to save himself from being shot. Emaciated and near death, he was liberated from Dachau by American troops at age 14.
Next up, we visit the historic Quincy Market. It was constructed in 1824–26 and named in honour of Mayor Josiah Quincy, who organized its construction without any tax or debt. The market is a designated National Historic Landmark and Boston Landmark, significant as one of the largest market complexes built in the United States in the first half of the 19th century.
A trip to Boston must include a visit to Cheers Restaurant and Bar. We visited the faithful replica of the original.
And finally we had to check out the Greenway Carousel a one-of-a-kind carousel located at The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove.
