MAŁPA KTÓRA ROZSŁAWIA OSLO
Podobno są ludzie na świecie, którzy wierzą, że po ulicach Oslo chodzą białe niedźwiedzie. Dla innych łoś lub renifer jest zwierzęciem reprezentującym Norwegię. Jednak paradoksalnie to małpa rozsławia stolicę tego kraju w całym świecie. Z jednym zastrzeżeniem. Mowa tu o świecie naukowym.
Wypromowano w tym kraju na fali 19-wiecznego nacjonalistycznego romantyzmu pojęcie ”verdens beste”, czyli najlepsze w świecie. Używany ten zwrot jest tu nagminnie, z pewnością na podparcie samopoczucia w obliczu zadawnionych kompleksów.
I problem jest z tym tylko jeden. PRAWIE nic tu nie jest w rzeczywiście verdens beste…
PRAWIE czyni jednak wielką różnicę. Bo jednak parę rzeczy takich „naj” mają, że w całym świecie zamiatają. A najzabawniejsze jest to, że takowe rzadko tu przydomek verdens beste dostają…
Weźmy taką małpę IDA na przykład. Wielu rodowitych Oślan nawet nie wie, że dla innych w szerokim świecie to jest coś, co uzasadnia podróż przez pół świata, aby Oslo odwiedzić.
Dla tych wszystkich przynajmniej, którzy paleontologią w jakimś stopniu są zainteresowani.
Naturhistorisk Museum umiejscowione jest na terenie ogrodu botanicznego i było jednym z ciekawszych muzeów Oslo jeszcze zanim IDA tam zamieszkała. Pierwsze, co wzbudza ekscytację zwłaszcza dzieci to dinozaury. No nie ma, co ukrywać, zwierzątka to spektakularne były i praktycznie wszystkie muzea na świecie, które dorobiły się dużego, skamieniałego szkieletu raczej na brak odwiedzających nie umrą. Ale jak się można domyśleć są na świecie muzea które mają więcej i znacznie większych dinozaurów.
A IDA jest tylko jedna.
Kto pierwszy raz IDĘ zobaczył ten się może zdziwić. Małpka wielkości kapucynki a tyle szumu wokół niej. Czymże ona sobie na to zasłużyła?
Ano wiekiem i kompletnością. Ida ma, bowiem 47 milionów lat i jest najstarszym, kompletnie zachowanym szkieletem naczelnych. Niektórzy posuwają się do nazywania jej „brakującym ogniwem w historii rozwoju człowieka”.
IDA mieszka w muzeum od 2009 roku. Została znaleziona wkopalni Messelgruven w Niemczech i ochrzczona imieniem córki odkrywcy.
A tak z informacji praktycznych:
Naturhistorisk Muzeum otwarte jest codziennie od 10 do 16. 120nok ale w czwartki za darmo. Budynek Muzeum Geologicznego jest obecnie w remoncie, ale na szczęście na terenie Muzeum Zoologicznego wydzielona została sala poświecona z eksponatami geologicznymi. Znalazły się tam między innymi dinozaury no i oczywiście IDA.
A tak z innych ciekawostek: jeszcze do niedawna w piwnicach Muzeum Historii Naturalnej w Oslo mieszkała inna, osobliwa atrakcja, wypchana Julia Pastrana , znana jako najbrzydsza kobieta świata. Historia to intrygująca i smutna zarazem. Julia jednak po ponad 150 letniej pośmiertnej tułaczce po tym świecie została pochowana w roku 2013 w Meksyku.

The Kon Tiki Museum, Oslo
The Kon-Tiki Museum is located on the Bygdøy peninsula in Oslo, Norway. It houses vessels, maps and books from the Kon-Tiki expedition. Thor Heyerdahl (1914–2002) gained worldwide fame when he crossed the Pacific Ocean on the balsawood raft Kon-Tiki in 1947.
