Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden, formerly known as Indian Botanic garden is the largest botanic garden in Southeast Asia, situated in the city of joy, Kolkata. It is one of the world’s oldest botanic garden established in the year 1787 by Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Kyd of East India Company, covering 273 acres of land on the west bank of the Hoogly river. The Botanic garden, popularly known as ‘B-Garden’, is one of the heritage sites of Kolkata that witnessed British ruled Calcutta’s transformation to today’s ‘Kolkata’.
The Indian Botanic Garden is famous for the ‘Great Banyan Tree’ which existed even before the establishment of the garden. This garden is a habitat of 14,000 species of plants and 1200 species of trees including 500 rare species. Popular species of the botanic garden include types of bamboo and palm trees, different types of Bougainvillea and water Lilies. Different bird and snake species and rodents are additional attraction to the local as well as worldwide tourists.
This videography is an effort to show some of the beauties of the Indian Botanic Garden to my viewers through my eyes. The content of the videography includes The Great Banyan Tree, Foliage Section, Aromatic Plants Garden, Cactus House and Giant Water lilies.

Rudraksh tree at Botanical Garden Noida
Not only Rudraksha tree, you will find Chandan tree and Kalpavriksha at one place here at Botanical Garden Noida Sector 38. This is situated beside Botanical Garden Metro Station.
Timings:
Monday to Friday. 9 am - 5 pm.
Best time to visit is during the months of January and February.
During Summer things are really not good if you are a tourist. There is not much that you can see as the place looks more like a park rather than being a botanical garden.
But if you are a bit inquisitive and talk to the people then you will find interesting things: Chandan tree, Rudraksha tree, Kalpavriksha and many medicinal plants.
One of the guards showed me a tree which he claimed to have a connection with Lord Krishna. Lord Krishan used to eat curd and Maakhan with the leaves of a similar tree, claimed one guard. Thre tree stands beside Kapavrisha and makes you feel a little more religious (if you are one). Sorry, I could not remember the name of the tree. I had that on the video but unfortunately, that video clip got deleted.
I think you should visit this place with you children and this could be a fun trip in the lap of nature.
