Bramcote Hills Park Training
In July I will be attempting to conquer Ben Nevis, Skiddaw and Snowdon, 3 of the highest peaks in Britain.
This isn't the standard 3 Peak Challenge attempted and completed by thousands of people a year. I was born with spina bifida and use a wheelchair. RGK Wheelchairs have donated an all terrain hand cycle so the challenge can be completed unaided. This video is the 2nd weekend of training.
I have one reason for doing this. In April 2011 a beautiful 14 year old girl was a bridesmaid at the wedding of mine and my wife's. One year later our beautiful bridesmaid was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. In February of 2013 Jessica Hope Gauntley died after a 10 month battle, aged just 16.
The Jessica Hope Foundation was established by John and Karen, Jessie's parents, together with my own wife Jess. All the funds raised from my challenge will go towards funding the fight against brain cancer in young people. The foundation supports the children's cancer ward at QMC, Headsmart, and the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre.
