Bringing the Branson Ferris Wheel to Life - Phase 2
Since early February, we have documented the move of Chicago's Navy Pier Ferris Wheel and how it is starting its next chapter as the Branson Ferris Wheel. This is phase 2 of that journey. The Haygoods' documenting production crew has captured this iconic move beautifully with time lapses, drone shots and more. Most of these interviews were shot on June 2, three weeks from the Grand Opening on June 23.

Branson Getting New Skyscraper Thrill Ride
BRANSON, Mo. -- The Branson skyline is about to expand. A new thrill ride is being built and the owners of this attraction are the same people who brought you the giant Ferris Wheel.
It's called the Skyscraper -- and it's being built by the owners of Track Family Fun Parks. They tell me they've invested about more than 600-thousand-dollars in the project -- and although they're the same people who brought the Ferris Wheel to Branson, this new ride has been described as a Ferris Wheel on steroids.
The Skycraper will stand 170 feet tall at it's peak, right off the strip. It's about 20-feet taller than the Ferris Wheel, about a half mile away.
At the site now, drill crews are preparing the ground.
Bill Starks is Chief Operating Officer for Track Family Fun Parks.
They are actually, started working yesterday and they're moving along very quickly, so we're really pleased, said Starks.
The Skyscraper resembles a giant windmill with propeller arms turning at about 60-miles per hour.
Stark says when the project is finished, people driving down the strip, will have a unique view.
They'll see the skyscraper turning at a very rapid pace and then in the distance, they'll see the Ferris Wheel at one of our other locations..and it will be turning at a much more leisurely pace..so.
Jim Hendrix is Director of Projects and Maintenance at Track Family Fun Parks. This hole will be going to a 15-foot rock socket, so it will be about 17 to 18 feet deep, by the time it's actually done, said Hendrix referring a spot in the ground where the drill rig workers were digging. We'll have crews come in and start setting forms and pour it full of concrete and about two and a half tons of steel in it..so.
Hendrix described what thrill seekers who take on the Skyscraper will actually experience.
So, when you're at 80 feet, you're going about 55 miles per hour going around -- and you'll be pulling about 4G's as you come around the bottom, Hendrix said, So, transversely, you'll be pulling negative G's as you go around the top. Then half way through the ride, they'll stop and you'll go backwards.
Stark says that Michael Haygood, of the famous Haygood family, will be doing the lights for the Skyscraper. He also did lights for the Ferris Wheel.
They're hoping to have the Skyscraper ride up and running by Spring Break.
Branson Ferris Wheel Timelapse
The Branson Ferris Wheel was formerly Chicago's iconic Navy Pier Ferris Wheel, ridden by nearly 17 million people from 1995 to 2015. Standing 150 feet tall, its 40 gondolas hold 240 riders, and it lights up the night with 16,000 LED lights. The Branson Ferris Wheel boasts spectacular views of the famed entertainment corridor and the picturesque Ozark Mountains. Don't miss Electrify- A Music and Light Spectacular!

Branson is an Ozark town in southwest Missouri known as a family vacation destination. Its 76 Country Boulevard is famously lined with theaters, which once hosted mostly country music performers but today present diverse entertainment. Also along the strip are the Marvel Cave, the Wild West-style Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction and Silver Dollar City, an 1800s-themed amusement park with live music.
Branson has long been a popular destination for vacationers from Missouri and neighboring areas. The collection of entertainment theaters along 76 Country Boulevard (and to a lesser extent along Shepherd of the Hills Expressway), including Dolly Parton's Stampede, has increased Branson's popularity as a tourist destination. Branson now draws visitors from all regions of the country and even internationally.
Besides the numerous entertainment theaters for which Branson is famous, other local attractions include Hollywood Wax Museum Branson, Silver Dollar City, White Water, Mount Pleasant Winery, Curling Vine Winery, Ride the Ducks, Dolly Parton's Stampede, ziplines, cave tours, go-karts, mini golf, and more. Ripley's Odditorium is housed in a building that has been made to look as if it is cracked wide open by an earthquake or other disaster, while the Titanic Museum is a half-scale replica of the famous ship and iceberg.
Branson Landing opened in the summer of 2006 on the Lake Taneycomo waterfront in downtown Branson. The lakefront project includes retail space with Bass Pro Shops and Belk as anchors in an outdoor shopping mall of stores and restaurants. It also features a scenic boardwalk along the lakefront with the Branson Landing Fountains at the heart of the property as well as a Hilton Hotel. Branson Landing has been known to host summer concerts and other special events throughout the year. The convention center, situated between Branson Landing and Historic Downtown Branson, opened September 7, 2007. The Branson Scenic Railway is located in the old depot, across from Branson Landing.
Hokey Branson is a cheerfully shameless tourist resort. The main attractions are the more than 50 theaters hosting 100-plus country music, magic and comedy shows. The neon-lit '76 Strip' (Hwy 76) packs in miles of motels, restaurants, wax museums, shopping malls, fun parks and theaters. Drive just a few minutes out of town, however, and you'll find yourself in pristine Ozark wilderness.

The Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure Branson MO with Princesses Jacob's New Adventures
Jacob and his family visited The Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure in Branson MO and it was amazing! There was so much to do that they give you a wrist band so that you can come back for 3 days. It's a huge building sitting on top of a hill and when you walk in the front door you will see that it is just stunningly beautiful. There are 2 floors and different things to do on both floors. The best part was the Butterfly Aviary where you will see the most beautiful butterflies that you will ever see. When you walk into the aviary someone will greet you at the door to give you butterfly food so that butterflies will come right up to you and eat from it. There are also fun free things for the kids to wear like a safari hat, binoculars, and magnifying glasses. Every hour they release butterflies and let the kids release them and it's so fun to see the joy on the kids faces. There is also a Science center, Mirror Maze, Banyan Tree Adventure, and a small movie theater. We highly recommend!
