Here is a video of Minneapolis !
Minneapolis, nicknamed City of Lakes and the Mill City, is the county seat of Hennepin County, the largest city in the U.S. state of Minnesota, and the 48th largest in the United States. Its name is attributed to the city's first schoolteacher, who combined mni, the Dakota word for water, and polis, the Greek word for city.
Minneapolis lies on both banks of the Mississippi River, just north of the river's confluence with the Minnesota River, and adjoins Saint Paul, the state's capital. Known as the Twin Cities, Minneapolis-St. Paul is the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the U.S., with 3.5 million residents. The Metropolitan Council estimated the city's population in 2009 as 386,691.
The city is abundantly rich in water with over twenty lakes and wetlands, the Mississippi river, creeks and waterfalls, many connected by parkways in the Chain of Lakes and the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway. It was once the world's flour milling capital and a hub for timber, and today is the primary business center between Chicago and Seattle. Named America's most literate city, it has cultural organizations that draw creative people and audiences to the city for theater, visual art, writing, and music. The community's diverse population has a long tradition of charitable support through progressive public social programs, as well as private and corporate philanthropy.
The region is second only to New York City in live theater per capital and is the third-largest theater market in the U.S. after New York and Chicago, supporting the Illusion, Jungle, Mixed Blood, Penumbra, Mu Performing Arts, Bedlam Theatre, the Brave New Workshop, the Minnesota Dance Theatre, Red Eye, Skewed Visions, Theater Latté Da, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts, and the Children's Theatre Company. The city is home to Minnesota Fringe Festival, the United States' largest nonjuried performing arts festival. French architect Jean Nouvel designed a new three stage complex for the Guthrie Theater, a prototype alternative to Broadway founded in Minneapolis in 1963. Minneapolis purchased and renovated the Orpheum, State, and Pantages Theatres vaudeville and film houses on Hennepin Avenue now used for concerts and plays. Eventually, a fourth renovated theater joined the Hennepin Center for the Arts to become the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, to be completed in 2011 and a home to more than one dozen performing arts groups and a provider of Web-based art education.
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, built in 1915 in south central Minneapolis is the largest art museum in the city with 100,000 pieces in its permanent collection. A new wing designed by Michael Graves was completed in 2006 for contemporary and modern works and more gallery space. The Walker Art Center sits atop Lowry Hill, near downtown, and doubled its size with an addition in 2005 by Herzog & de Meuron and is continuing its expansion to 15 acres (6.1 ha) with a park designed by Michel Desvigne across the street from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The Weisman Art Museum, designed by Frank Gehry for the University of Minnesota, opened in 1993. An addition, also designed by Gehry, is expected to open in 2011.

Vikings' Kluwe Argues Same Sex Marriage Is A Civil Rights Issue
Vikings' punter Chris Kluwe took on an empty chair to argue against Minnesota's proposed constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. None of the invited Republican supporters showed up to argue for the amendment. Instead, actors at Minneapolis' Brave New Workshop read quotes from Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, State Representative Mary Franson and Archbishop John Nienstedt. Radio personality Tom Barnard, of KQRS-FM and the Tom Barnard Podcast moderated the debate.
God forbid our children learn some liberal agenda in school because you can make that same argument about 50 years ago with segregation. God forbid our children learn that black children are the same as them, rebutted Kluwe after Barnard read a quote from Minnesota State Representative Mary Franson.
A Brave New Workshop actor read Franson's quote. My concerns are that our children, our schools could be taught some liberal agendas because of the marriage amendment. Because in the schools they might be taught that this is normal behavior.
Other statements from Michele Bachmann, Archbishop John Nienstedt and Rick Santorum were read during the debate.
Chris Kluwe has been outspoken against the marriage amendment. He says his teammates and other NFLers have been supportive of his efforts.
In the locker room I've had quite a few guys come up to me and say, 'Hey we appreciate what you say thanks for standing up for Brendan.' Or some guys have said while we may not support the same-sex marriage part, we do support the first amendment part. And other guys have said we support everything you did, said Kluwe.
Kluwe says the NFL is not all machismo.
I think were helping sort of change this image that the NFL is just this stereotypical macho, jock type thing. I mean, there's a lot of very smart players in the NFL. I think it behooves all of us to shatter that stereotype, he explained.

MN Caravan of Love: Walk of Love for Immigrant & Refugees
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Saturday February 11, 2017
With the arrival of Valentine’s Day when people are celebrating love across the world, the immigrant and refugee communities; mainly Muslims and Mexicans in the United States are faced with state sponsored hatred and discrimination. The executive orders signed by Trump ban Muslims; from seven majority Muslim countries from entering the United States. The executive order is not only set to end the hopes of refugees fleeing wars and political violence in Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, Iran and Libya but also end the dreams of Muslim students entering the US on student visas. The executive order also has further implications on the broader immigrant communities living in the United States and the refugees abroad.

150 Years of Human Rights in Minnesota
In 1858, Minnesota was admitted to the Union. Its constitution declared that there shall be neither slavery nor involuntary servitude in the state. Thus, Minnesota joined the ranks of 16 other free states in a nation that also included 15 states where the slavery of African Americans was legal. Only three years later, Minnesotans would be among the first to answer the call to fight in a bloody Civil War, a war that would settle the matter of slavery, yet leave much work undone—work that continues today, as America still seeks to fulfill the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness guaranteed to all.
In this look back at Minnesota's 150 years of statehood, we recall some of the milestones that have marked the struggle for human rights in our state. It's an epic story, a blockbuster, with twists and turns and fascinating characters—and it's still being written. It's a story to which we all can still contribute, but to do so, we need to know what's happened so far.
