IREKS, a German bread manufacturer, visited LBC on Thursday 7th November 2013. IREKS are about to introduce new bread products into the British market. Here's a clip of their demonstration to Students.

Since first opening the doors of our little bakery and food retail shop in Walton Street in 1995 we have stuck to the simple principle of making almost everything we sell fresh from scratch on a daily basis - producing an original selection of cakes, pastries and cookies. Our food is simple honest and genuine, flavoured with spices, herbs and ingredients drawn from the culinary roots of Mediterranean cooking, with a pinch of Asian for taste and of course created by people who love preparing it and are happy to talk endlessly about it.
Everything we make can be enjoyed in any one of our three Baker & Spice neighbourhood stores, open early each day for amazing breakfasts, delicious lunches or wonderful aromatic teas, coffees and cake right through the day to early evening and of course you can take it all home with you. you can also find us in Selfridges Food Hall off Oxford Street for freshly prepared food perfect to take away.

It’s that time of the year again. It’s getting colder outside, the christmas lights are going up, the nights are getting longer, and children are eagerly writing their wish lists for Santa Claus. You are starting to hear christmas songs on the radio, and that only means one thing: The holidays are here! Those living in America might think that Christmas is the same all over the world, however, there are some pretty big discrepancies between the ways some countries celebrate it. This video will go over the differences between a merry Christmas in America and a merry christmas in England. We compare everything from Father Christmas to Santa Claus, Crimbo to Christmas, and other holiday traditions that are slightly different depending on which side of the Atlantic you call home.
Unusual Christmas traditions from all over the world that may leave you scratching your head!
Pickle Ornament. This one is pretty funny. German families have an interesting tradition which involves decorating their Christmas tree with a Christmas pickle. The Christmas pickle is the last ornament to be hung on the christmas tree, and is usually made of glass. According to Mental Floss, it is usually placed in a hidden spot in the christmas tree, and the first child who finds the pickle on Christmas day has good luck for the upcoming year. They also receive a special gift.
Krampus: During the month of December in Austria, people don the mask of a ghoulish, evil creature called Krampus, committing pranks and scaring children. Krampus is considered the evil accomplice of St Nicholas. According to Wikipedia, Krampus is a horned, half goat, half demon who haunts and punishes children during the Christmas season. Creepy!
Roller skates: On Christmas Day in Caracas, Venezuela, hundreds of people can be see on the street roller skating to mass. According to metro.co.uk, some children even tie ropes to their toes that are long enough to dangle out of their window. Roller skaters tug from ropes they see hanging from windows in the morning to wake up any children who want to watch the event.
Shoe tossing: Every Christmas Eve in the Czech Republic, single women stand outside of their front doors and throw a shoe over their shoulder. If the shoe lands with the shoes pointing towards the door, it means that the woman will be married within one year. Single ladies, get your shoes ready!
So there you have it! Some strange and funny differences between a merry Christmas in America and and a merry Christmas in England, as well as some other strange traditions from other countries around the world. So whether it be leaving treats for Santa Claus or tossing your shoe over your shoulder to find out if you’ll get married within a year, there are all sorts of crazy, fun, and strange Christmas traditions from places all over the world. If you’re a fan of all things Christmas, why not try some of the traditions in this video that you don’t usually do during the holidays?
So whether you like watching Christmas movies all day and night during the holidays, singing Christmas songs at the top of your lungs, going all out in your Christmas tree or Christmas decor or just like to keep it low key, you’re probably familiar with at least some of the Christmas traditions in this video. Sometimes it can be a little strange to see how other countries and cultures celebrate Christmas, but it’s also very interesting. The more you know, right? VICTORIA'S SECRET ANGELS DESCEND ON LONDON
The Victoria's Secret Angels have flown into London for the lingerie brand's first runway show to be held in the U.K.
Forty models, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel and Doutzen Kroes, posed for photographers outside the Victoria's Secret store on London's New Bond Street, Monday morning (1 DEC. 2014).
After the photo opp, the girls headed inside the store to chat to the press about the upcoming show, which is taking place on Tuesday evening at London's Earl's Court.
I'm so anxious, nervous, excited, mixed emotions. I can't sleep for the past few days, admitted veteran Angel, Adriana Lima.
I can't wait for the moment, the minute that we walk on the runway. The Victoria's Secret fashion show, it has become a part of Christmas culture. It airs in over 180 countries all over the world. So, for a model and a girl, for me, I'm living a dream to be part of it, she added.
Like Lima, fellow Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio is also feeling the pressure.
We're all getting kind of nervous, excited and anxious for the show. It's been a long time since they told us that the show is going to be in London and finally it's here, she said.
The models flew to the British capital from New York's JFK airport on Sunday on a special Victoria's Secret plane.
According to Dutch model Doutzen Kroes, having so many girls on one flight was a blast.
We just want to have fun. It felt like a little school trip that we did, she said.
In addition to their Victoria's Secret work, most of the models do various runway shows throughout the year for numerous high end labels and brands.
However, they admit that they spent a lot more time preparing for the Victoria's Secret show than any other.
We definitely up the workouts a lot for this show. There's so many people watching and you walk in lingerie and you really want to look your best, explained Swedish model Elsa Hosk.
A month before the show, I try to start working out everyday and the week before the show I really watch what I eat, so no desserts, even though we had Thanksgiving like a few days ago, I try to cut the desserts out and bread and just keep the protein and a lot of vegetables, green salad. Just be super healthy, said Ambrosio.
For Kroes, getting runway ready has been more challenging.
The 29-year-old gave birth to her second child just four months ago.
I do feel a little pressure. I don't give myself too much pressure. I feel also that feeding my baby is the most important...the milk flow is the most important right now, so that's my first, but I feel I'm so blessed that I'm able to do this, as a mom, to do this show and to feel sexy, she said.
As well as a runway show, Tuesday night's Victoria's Secret extravaganza will feature music performances from Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Hozier.
The show will air on CBS in the U.S. on December 9 at 10pm.
In the U.K. it will air on 4Music on 10th December at 9pm.

You can find some of the best brownies, cakes, and cookies going at our website (risebakery.london), all made individually by hand in our kitchen. They're great as gifts, and are also available for corporate and wholesale orders.
All our delicious cakes are baked by people who used to be homeless. We train them up to help them find work and get their confidence back.
We’re part of Providence Row, a homelessness charity based in the East-End of London.

2018 backaldrin Angel Bakery International
backaldrin has been supporting the Angel Bakery for several years. It is a project of the aid organizations Hope for Future and Bread for the World in the slum Korogocho in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital. Meanwhile, the Angel Bakery offers a job to 35 people and is run by a Kenyan master baker. Moreover 2,800 schoolchildren can be provided with bread and pastries.
