Beer - Amsterdam
If in the UK there's the 5 o'clock tea, here in Amsterdam there's the 5 o'clock beer! Well, no surprise Netherlands is the world's largest exporter of beer. My friend Joren brought me to the paradise of beers, where I got to taste some amazing artisanal Dutch beers. Thank God I didn’t have to drive afterwards

Beer Boat to Amsterdam Brewery
Touring Amsterdam by boat is a great way to see the city. Exploring the city through it's beer breweries and bars is also unique since the craft beer culture is growing rapidly. On a recent visit, an American group of beer enthusiasts from Beer Corner USA combined both ways by renting a boat to get to Oedipus Brewing, which is across the Ij Channel from the city center. Arranged through Amsterdam Craft Beer Tours, the group drank bottled Dutch craft beer & ate meat and cheese during the boat ride past fantastic scenery and tasted some one-of-a kind brews at Oedipus. Beautiful sights and great craft beer- a perfect combination. Special thanks to Chris Bettini

Brouwerij 't IJ (Amsterdam) • Tasty Tales
Brouwerij 't IJ and the iconic windmill are in the Top 5 Amsterdam breweries of many a beerlover. Amsterdam might have some major and well known beer producers, but craft brewery Brouwerij ’t IJ, founded in the mid-80s, was one of the first to brew well-crafted Dutch beers in Belgian style. Founder Kasper Peterson, a Dutch musician who wrote a few chart-topping songs, started the brewery in 1985 in a former municipal bath house. The tasting room and a few of the brew rooms are still located here, right next to the windmill.

Microbreweries and craft beers in Amsterdam
In Amsterdam, there is beer and beer. Canals and canals. Beer, canals, canals, beer, canals and even windmills.
Brouwerij t Ij.: The oldest. The most famous. The hardest to pronounce and the easiest to find in a bar in Amsterdam. More, more, more. After coming back from a tour in the south of the Netherlands, Kaspar Peterson, member of the band Drukerwk, decided to brew a beer inspired by the surrounding Belgian beers. The brewery produces a classic beer, and rather strong, declined in different types: lager, dark, amber, IPA… To add to its charm, the historic brewery is located under one of the most beautiful and biggest windmill close to the city centre in East Amsterdam. There is a big outdoor terrace to enjoy the nice weather. The brewery organises tours.
In the same area, 5 mn by bike, Homeland is one of the most unusual place in Amsterdam. It is a hotel, a bar, a cafe and a microbrewery rolled into one, in an old building of the shipyard. Its 60s decor is unique. Panelled walls, massive plants, colours, patterns and period artefacts. It is spacious, bright and full of excitement. The terrace overlooks the water on one side, and the park on the other. People come here to enjoy a relaxing swim. Homeland hosts a beer festival in September. On the menu: music, beer of course, and street food.
Let’s cross the Ij, this inlet, this lake, this river towards the North. Oedipus is the funkiest and the most colourful microbrewery in Amsterdam. It started with a group of friends. A festival, beers brewed especially for this occasion, soon selling faster than bread. The goal of Oedipus is to brew unique and pleasing beers for everyone to enjoy. There are flavours of grapefruit, passion fruit. Beers with lemongrass, chilli, lime and coriander. Strong and lighter beers. Sweeter, smoother and tangier beers. Inside the brewery, colours, plants, good mood, industrial design because it is an industrial place. Basically a good reason to go to North Amsterdam. The tasting room is open from Thursdays to Sundays. On the other days, you will find their beers in many bars in Amsterdam.
Troost is a microbrewery, a gin distillery and a lemonade producer. Several locations in Amsterdam: In Pjip in the South, in the old industrial zone next to Westerpark in the West, and some also in the East. A beautiful location, good beers. My favourite are New England IPA and Ozzie Pale Ale. Refreshing and perfect on a beautiful sunny day. You can eat here and tours are organised to learn about the brewing process.
Butchers Tears is the microbrewery the furthest away from the centre of Amsterdam. It is easier to get there by bike, even if there are some buses too. At the end of a small street in an industrial zone, you will find a tap room made out of white tiles. Some sketches on the walls and beer taps. Outside, some room on a car park, wooden chairs and benches. It’s rather minimalistic and it may not sound very appealing. But the beers are very good, maybe even the best in Amsterdam. The music playlist is spot on and the service very friendly. If you like a good beer off the beaten path. 20 minutes from Dam Market Square by bike.
Cafe de Prael is in the Red light district, so it is the most central microbrewery in Amsterdam. Some tables outside and on 2 levels. It is rather dark, perfect for a date or to meet with friends for a local brew. Less perfect if you want to film inside. Good beers with Belgian, German and British influence. it is a community led entreprise and also the place of the first breweries in Amsterdam around 1400.

Brouwerij Walhalla (Amsterdam) • Tasty Tales
Brouwerij Walhalla is a relatively young Amsterdam craft brewery that has gained a reputation as one of the best brewers of IPA’s in the Netherlands. Founder Aart van Bergen is a seriously talented tenor saxophone player that used to be a professional musician. But his perspective on living the life of a jazz musician gradually changed over the years as it’s not an easy life. As he was a home brewer already for a number of years, he made the choice to start a new life in beer. Or, as Aart puts it: “a small crowd of people is into jazz, while a lot of people like beer.”

AMSTERDAM TRAVEL GUIDE | CANAL TOUR & VONDELPARK
AMSTERDAM TRAVEL GUIDE | CANAL TOUR & VONDELPARK
Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities in the world, and day's like this will show you why. With laid back vibes and beautiful sunshine, our final day in the city on our romantic getaway was finished off in style!
The night before we bumped into a few friends from London, a few beers later and a walk through the red light district in the early hours of the morning, we got back to our air BnB and turned in for the night.
Waking up with a bit of a hangover, our last day in Amsterdam was planned to be as chilled as possible whilst making the most of the incredible weather! So we decided to walk around the city, go to the local pancake spot for breakfast (Pancakes Amsterdam) on 9 straat - I thoroughly recommend it!
We then took a 70 minute boat tour around the canals of Amsterdam whilst taking advantage of unlimited drinks for only €15!
We finished off the day strolling through Vondelpark, which for me was the best (and worst) part of the day, you'll find out why in the video! There is something about being in a green space in such a cool city like this, there were so many people just hanging out, having a good time with family friends...it kinda felt like home in a weird way if that makes any sense. Sunday evening at dusk, and still thousands of people having a good time - not worrying about work or any of lifes troubles, these kind of moments of solace are why I love travelling so much!
Enjoy the video, if you've been to Amsterdam before, let me know how it was for you in the comments!

Brouwerij 't IJ Ijwit Witbier Dutch Craft Beer Review in Amsterdam, Netherlands - 4K UHD
BROUWERIJ T' IJ IJWIT WITBIER
A full-bodied, Amsterdam wheat beer that is dangerously ‘moreish’. Slightly cloudy, it has a beautiful golden colour and a soft, foamy head. When we brew IJwit, we use wheat malt as well as barley malt, which is also how the beer gets its name.
The wheat malt gives the beer a delightful, fresh flavour, and the addition of coriander and lemon during the brewing process produces a rich aroma of banana, citrus and spices. Topped off by a fine, slightly sweet aftertaste, IJwit is a delicious thirst-quencher.
Alcohol percentage: 6,5%
Drinking temperature: 6 – 8 graden

Dutch Entrepreneurs Turn Rainwater Into Beer
June has been recorded as one of the wettest months in more than a century in many parts of Europe. To a group of entrepreneurs in Amsterdam the rain came as a blessing, as they used the extra water to brew beer. Serginho Roosblad has more to the story.

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are few places that I just simply didn't enjoy.
The country of Brunei is one of them.
I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I was pushed to make this video.
Have you ever visited any countries that you didn't enjoy? Please share below, I'm curious to know.
