From the Naval Station you will pass by bus with guide from historic center of St Peterburg to the embankment of Fontanka river. During this short tour you will learn history of the creation of the city, landmarks, museums and monuments, which located along the route. Tour of the rivers and canals will starts at the center of the city. On the boat you will sail through the most beautiful waterways: Fontanka river, Krukov’s canal, Moika and Neva rivers. Cut by a network of small rivers and canals, the city will impress you with its magnificence during the boat cruise. By number of rivers and canals St. Petersburg ranks first in Russia, and has one of the first places in the world. Along these waterways there are a lot of palaces and the major attractions of the northern capital, many of which are the official symbols of the city like St .Isaac's Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, the Saviour-on-the-Blood Cathedral, the Winter Palace and others. There are about 500 bridges (315 in the city centre,21 of them are drawbridges). This many more than in other cities famous for their bridges such as Venice and Stockholm. You will be passing underneath some of them during the boat ride. At the end of tour of the rivers and canals you will get a short tour of the center of the St. Petersburg after which you free to explore the city or return to the Naval Station. Russia: The Palace Bridge (Dvortsoviy Bridge), St Petersburg
The Dvortsoviy Bridge also known as Palace Bridge takes its name after the Winter Palace, Dvortsovaya (Palace) Square and Embankment.
The first pontoon bridge connected Admiralteyskiy and Vasilievsky Isles in 1856 right in front of the Winter Palace, but in 1896-1897 the place was moved to the place where the Palace Bridge is located today. The permanent iron bridge was built in 1912-1916 by engineers A.Pshenitzkiy and R.Meltzer.
Interesting fact: some wood elements from bridge construction remained unchanged until 1978. Palace Bridge is technically the most perfect of all Neva bridges. The unique mechanism of a suspension bridge, consisting of a machine, colossal cogwheels (some complete cast metal in fixed block details of the bridge opening) and a floating bridge balancer weighing thousands of tons, allows lifting 700 tons of bridge span. In 1997, the Istana Bridge got colorful illuminations.

???? The Anichkov Bridge (Russian: Аничков мост, Anichkov Most) is the oldest and most famous bridge across the Fontanka River in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The current bridge, built in 1841-42 and reconstructed in 1906-08, combines a simple form with some spectacular decorations. As well as its four famous horse sculptures (1849–50), the bridge has some of the most celebrated ornate iron railings in Saint Petersburg. The structure is mentioned in the works of Pushkin, Gogol, and Dostoevsky.
