Places to see in ( London - UK ) British Library
The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and the second largest library in the world by number of items catalogued. British Library holds well over 150 million items from many countries.
As a legal deposit library, the British Library receives copies of all books produced in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including a significant proportion of overseas titles distributed in the UK. The British Library is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The British Library is a major research library, with items in many languages and in many formats, both print and digital: books, manuscripts, journals, newspapers, magazines, sound and music recordings, videos, play-scripts, patents, databases, maps, stamps, prints, drawings. The Library's collections include around 14 million books, along with substantial holdings of manuscripts and historical items dating back as far as 2000 BC. In addition to receiving a copy of every publication produced in the UK and Ireland (approximately 8,000 per day), the Library has a programme for content acquisitions. The Library adds some three million items every year occupying 9.6 kilometres (6.0 mi) of new shelf space.
Prior to 1973, the Library was part of the British Museum. The British Library Act 1972 detached the library department from the museum, but it continued to host the now separated British Library in the same Reading Room and building as the museum until 1997. The Library is now located in a purpose-built building on the north side of Euston Road in St Pancras, London (between Euston railway station and St Pancras railway station), and has a document storage centre and reading room near Boston Spa, near Wetherby in West Yorkshire. The Euston Road building is classified as a Grade I listed building, of exceptional interest for its architecture and history.

One Day in London - The British Library
Ciao!

LONDON WALK | King's Cross to The British Library and Euston Road | England
A first-person perspective London walk tour of King's Cross and Euston Road, including The British Library.
Experience all of the sights and sounds as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of London, featuring King’s Cross and Euston Road. The route begins at Battle Bridge Place, opposite St. Pancras International, then goes through King’s Cross railway station to King’s Cross Square, along Euston Road, and ending at London’s Fire Brigade station, close to Euston Station.
Sights seen along the tour include the stunning roof inside London King’s Cross, St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London, and The British Library including the 'Newton' bronze sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi.
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!
Footage recorded April 2017.

Kings Cross St Pancras British Library
London Walk: YouTube Space London, St Pancras, King's Cross, British Library, Euston Station
London walk starting at the YouTube Space London on Pancras Road (with a quick nosey inside) heading towards Pancras Square, then St Pancras Station and King’s Cross Station, including the Great Northern Hotel leading to the King’s Cross Real Food Market before crossing onto Euston Road past the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel up to the British Library, passing the Shaw Theatre and London Pullman Hotel, through Euston Square Gardens with the BT Tower in the distance and finally ending up at Euston train and underground station.
Join me on a beautiful Spring day in London where people are quick to enjoy the sunshine in the area around St Pancras, King’s Cross and Euston stations. You will see some very happy people sitting outside the Great Northern Hotel enjoying an al-fresco lunch framed by a lovely floral arch over the hotel door while the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, not to be outdone, looks rather grand against the blue skies. The British Library was also revelling in the weather as people took lunch in the courtyard and this was repeated in Euston Square Gardens with midday picnics aplenty. Yes, we really do make the most of it when the sun comes out! For dog lovers, my little French bulldog puts in a couple of appearances at the end, the little photo and sunshine lover that he is????
The YouTube Space London is where YouTube creators can make use of the studios and production facilities, attend workshops (I was there for a guided meditation) and hang out to connect with others in their field. The YouTube Space is located in the area around King’s Cross which has undergone considerable regeneration over the past decade, but it only takes a few minutes of walking to find the older neighbours still well in evidence. This can be done by taking the alternative, less polluted walk between Euston and King’s Cross which is signposted as you leave Euston station; I plan to record that walk soon as an add-on to this one. To see inside King’s Cross and St Pancras Stations, please watch my video recorded in December 2018.

More details about what you see in this UK travel vlog:
► The British Museum: Located in Bloomsbury, London, in the United Kingdom, this museum is dedicated to human history, art and culture. It was the first national public museum in the world. Their permanent collection has 8 million pieces of work, which also makes them among the largest on the planet. Most items were sourced during the era of the British Empire. Here you can see the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures and several Egyptian mummies, among other treasures.
► The British Library: Very close to King's Cross and St Pancras railway stations, this is the national library of the United Kingdom and the largest national library in the world by the number of items cataloged. It's believed to contain 150–200 million+ items from many countries. It's worth a visit to see their impressive collection of historical documents, ranging from letters to musical compositions and the Magna Carta.
► Harry Potter 9 3/4 platform: This one is for Harry Potter fans. You can find the trolley at Harry Potter's platform 9 3/4 in the concourse of King's Cross railway station. It's open for everyone to take pictures free of charge, and you don't need to be traveling by train to reach the area. There's also a Harry Potter store nearby.
► Heathrow Express: We left London via Heathrow Express, an airport rail link between London Heathrow Airport and Paddington station. Tickets on-site cost 25 pounds, but if you buy in advance you can get better prices. The service is operated by Heathrow Express Operating Company, and the entire ride takes 15 min.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged the life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer.
I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself... Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S .: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;)

2013 at the British Library
2013 promises to be a fantastic year for culture at the British Library. Today we're releasing a sneak preview of what we have coming up, including 20th-century state propaganda, the newly-acquired archive of Sir Alec Guinness and an exhibition exploring what the Georgians did for us.
More information on the 2013 Preview can be found on the Library's press and policy pages here
British Library hosts UK's biggest comic book exhibition
Subscribe to ITN News:
Usually known as a home of academia, The British Library swapped its usual books for comic books on Thursday, as it previewed its latest exhibition. It's the first time the library has put its name to the medium of comic books and hopes to celebrate the impact British artists and writers have had on the scene. Co-curators John Harris Dunning and Paul Gravett are hoping the show will make visitors see comic books in a whole new light. Not only does the exhibition show modern day graphic novels and comic books like V for Vendetta and Kick Ass, it also goes back centuries to show Britain's long history in the art of comics. Almost certain to be swarmed with fans this summer, Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK is on display at the British Library from May 2 through to August 19. Report by Claire Lomas.
