Hollywood Sign Hike: Taking the Brush Canyon Trail to Bronson Caves & the Hollywood Sign
A hike to the Hollywood Sign is a must-do for many tourists visiting Los Angeles. I have hiked it many different ways, but the best way to hike it for views of the sign on the way up is the Brush Canyon Trail. This hike takes you past the Bronson Caves (which is where the batcave was filmed for the TV Batman show) and up to Mullholand Trail. The Mullholland Trail takes you to two great viewpoints for the sign before eventually connecting with the paved road you can walk to get to the back of the sign itself. Hopefully this video encouraged you to hike to the sign, just don't do it in the heat of the summer.

Bronson Caves: Hidden History in the Hollywood Hills
You don't always have to travel far to find adventure. They used to film the original Batman TV show here at the Bronson Caves, a part of Hollywood history and it's only a 15 minute drive from my house. Find your own adventure. Be your own Batman.
from wikipedia:
Bronson Canyon is located in the southwest section of Griffith Park, thus is easily accessible from Hollywood.
In 1903, the Union Rock Company founded a quarry, originally named Brush Canyon, for excavation of crushed rock used in the construction of city streets. The quarry ceased operation in the late 1920s, leaving the caves behind. The caves became known as the Bronson Caves after a nearby street, giving the area its more popular name of Bronson Canyon (the same street indirectly provided the stage name for actor Charles Bronson, who chose the name of the Bronson Gate at Hollywood's Paramount Studios, which in turn derived its name from Bronson Ave).
Scenes of the main cave entrance are normally filmed in a manner that shows the entrance at an angle because the cave is actually a very short tunnel through the hill, with the rear opening easily visible in a direct shot. The most well-known appearance of the tunnel entrance is likely as the entrance to the Batcave in the Batman television series of the 1960s.

The Bat Cave in Griffith Park
The Batcave in Bronson Canyon - Hollywood, California - January 13, 2012
Up in the Hollywood hills at the end of Canyon drive is Bronson canyon, a hilly and dusty hiking trail that was used in many movies and TV shows including The Searchers and Star Trek, but there is one feature in this canyon that is world famous and I am talking about the caves that were used as the Batcave in the 1960s TV show Batman starring Adam West. These caves are actually not natural but man-made which makes them all the more amazing! Here you will also be treated to a wonderful view of the Hollywood sign! Next time you find yourself in the Los Angeles area, make sure you check them out!

Famous for the backdrop in many t.v. shows and movies. Such as Bat Man, for the bat cave. I have another video showing the interior of the cave.
Most notably known for the gorgeous black and white photographs that were taken of Jim Morrison and Pam Courson in 1969. ♥️????♥️
Batman 1966 - On Location - The Batcave / Bronson Caves
Exteriors for the Batcave, as seen in the Adam West Batman TV series were all shot on location in the Hollywood hills, at Bronson Caves.
If you'd like to check it out yourself, here's a google maps link to the trail head. Just park your car, walk up the fire road about 100 yards and boom there they are:

Bronson Caves is located in the Hollywood Hills on Canyon Dr.
To get there, head up Canyon Dr. and park in the second parking lot
on the left
Follow the red curb to the trail.
Walk, jog or run about 1/2 a mile to the mouth of the cave.
Once you are there you will realize why movies such as The Scorpion King, Little House on the Prairie, and the Batman TV series were filmed there. Enter the mouth of the cave and walk through one of its tunnels to the other side.
Once you are on the other side, look to your left and you can see the Hollywood sign. Its so close you could throw a rock at it.
The gates are open from sunrise to sunset and parking is free.
Bronson Caves is a inspiring place to see, even if you aren't making a movie.
