MASALA DOSA, INDIAN STREET FOOD LONDON
MASALA DOSA, INDIAN STREET FOOD LONDON, Masala dosa or Masale Dose is a variant of the popular South Indian food, dosa. It is made from rice, lentils, potato, methi, curry leaves and served with chutneys and sambar. Though it was only popular in South India, it can be found in all other parts of the country and overseas. In South India preparation of masala dosa varies from city to city.[Masala dosa was ranked number 4 on the list of '10 foods to try before you die', compiled by The Huffington Post. Preparation : Masala dosa is stuffed dosa. There are two parts: the dosa and the stuffing. The dosa is made in the usual way by soaking rice and lentils overnight in water and then grinding it to a batter. The fermented batter is used to make dosa. The stuffing is made from boiled potatoes with a seasoning of mustard seeds and garnishing of grated coconut, coriander, and lemon juice.
Mysore masala dosa has a red chutney made from red chillies, onion and, garlic applied to the inside of the dosa before placing the potato stuffing on top of it. It is home to the Wembley 'complex': Wembley Stadium, England's primary football stadium and a major sports and entertainment venue; as well as SSE Arena, a concert venue. The former British Empire Exhibition was held at the Palace of Industry building at Engineers Way, when the district was part of the historic Middlesex county.
Today the district boasts a large number of pubs, along with new retail and housing developments near the stadium complex. The Chalkhill housing estate is also located in Wembley Park. The east is home to large industrial land, called Stadium Industrial Estate, adjacent to Brent Park. The north is mostly suburban upmarket residential areas, with the Barn Hill point behind it. Barn Hill peaks at 86 metres above sea level, and is part of the greater Fryent Country Park that goes towards Kingsbury.
In addition, Wembley Hill Road is a steep road west from the complex, which peaks at around 65 metres above sea level near The Green Man pub.
The Wealdstone Brook tributary of the River Brent starts off at the Stadium Industrial Estate and runs between Bridge Road and Wembley Park Drive, and through Forty Avenue towards Preston. Brook Green is an affluent London neighbourhood in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is located approximately 3.6 miles (5.8 km) west of Charing Cross. It is bordered by Kensington, Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith, Holland Park and Brackenbury Village.
The Brook Green neighbourhood takes its name after the recreational park space also named Brook Green, which runs from Shepherd's Bush Road to Hammersmith Road.
Brook Green has two main shopping areas, Shepherd's Bush Road and Blythe Road, the latter of which is home to a number of small, independent shops. Also tucked in behind the green is a large Tesco supermarket. Brook Green is also within close proximity to Kensington High Street, King Street and Westfield London.

55_Almost back to the Mainland
We stayed in our narrowboat in Garstang for two days, a lovely little market town in Lancashire. The market held weekly on a Thursday dates back to the early 1300 and stretches the length of the High Street.
Leaving Garstang we cross the River Wyre on a fine stone aqueduct by the engineer John Rennie and head south on the Lancaster Canal. We moored at an isolated mooring between bridges 55 and 66 just south of Garstang for a couple of days and this video picks up from here. We continue our southward journey as we have our Ribble Link crossing booked.
The canal here is quiet and dotted with the odd house or farm but staying quite remote.
We soon encounter the new Flower Bowl complex, and entertainment centre which includes an Ice curling Rink, a crazy golf course, virtual darts, bowling alley and cinema. . Certainly plenty to do to keep people entertained. There was also a lovely garden centre and farm shop which was more to our taste. Next door to this was Moons bridge Marina who offered boat trips.
Further south we encountered Bilsborrow where we stayed for a couple of nights. Here we found Owd Nells and Guys Thatched Hamlet, a canal side tavern and restaurant with conference facilities and accommodation.
There are boaters facilities here which we made use of as they are the last ones before the Ribble Link crossing apart from a water tap at Swillbrook. At Swillbrook bridge we pass a boat yard but continue until just after bridge 24 where we moored for a couple of days before our Ribble Link crossing.

Veganism and sustainability continue to be unstoppable trends in the UK food market, from eco friendly CBD drinks through to food wraps made from beeswax.
Alcoholic tea and luxury ready meals are also amongst the growth products on display at the Specialty & Fine Food Fair at London's Olympia.
STORY-LINE
From the finest British cheeses to exotic dishes from South East Asia and beyond - the Specialty & Fine Food Fair at Olympia in Kensington London continues to showcase top quality artisan and luxury brands as it celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
And as always emerging and innovative food and drink concepts are given a major platform too.
One particular novelty this year is an alcoholic tea, fittingly called 'Noveltea'. Described as the first brand in the world to cold-brew and infuse tea with a matching spirit it was created by two Newcastle University graduates who raised money through crowdfunding.
It's completely innovative so we essentially introduced a brand new product category entirely to the drinks trade. People have been drinking Irish coffees for years so why not alcoholic tea?, says Katie Gorwits, Sales and Account Manager of Noveltea.
She goes on to explain that they have three different alcoholic tea blends inspired by different countries around the world:
Our British based one is Earl Grey Tea with a London Dry Gin, we've got our Moroccan based one that's a Moroccan Green Mint Tea with a Caribbean White Rum and then our Chinese based one is an Oolong Tea with Scotch Whisky.
Noveltea originated in 2016 and is already being stocked in major stores such as Fenwick, Harrods and John Lewis in the UK as well as being exported to China and Germany.
While alcoholic tea might be an emerging trend, one trend which continues to be unstoppable is veganism.
After five years running an award-winning London restaurant, The Brook now creates high end plant based foods and delivers them to people's doors to enjoy at home.
Founder Thea Brook says veganism is growing at such a fast pace it now has many sub sections within it - from high end to junk food:
I think that veganism's getting big enough now that you have a luxury segment within it, or maybe not even quite yet but it's definitely going that way. You've got sections to the vegan food market that are more about raw foods and health foods and then there's a lot of vegan junk food that's coming onto the market which people love.
Another trend here is to have restaurant quality, high end food delivered to your door which you can even pass off as a delicious meal you cooked yourself.
Not long ago frozen meals at a fine food fair would be unheard of - but this year 'Cook's high end ready meals sit centre stage of the exhibition hall.
Alex Dimmock, Concessions Manager at Cook says:
Customers want quite high end, premium, high quality products that they can present at home as if they've done it themselves. So with Cook in particular we can make the food that you can produce on your kitchen table at home, in your own pots and it looks like it's been home made by yourself. And you still know you're going to get that high quality product.
Another trend which is also growing is CBD and hemp based food and drink products. CBD (Cannabidiol) is an active ingredient in cannabis derived from the hemp plant. It's legal in the UK, provided it's extracted from industrial hemp which is EU approved.
Cannasa claims to be the newest CBD drink to hit the UK drinks market.
