Sentosa - Butterfly park & Insect Kingdom
A glimpse of my visit to Sentosa Butterfly park and insect Kingdom. The ticket is around SGD20 per person. The place is nice specially for kids, they can see new kinds of butterfly with different colors and colorful eggs.
When you visit, make sure that the weather is nice, coz for me it was humid.
The gear I used is CANON 7D Mark II with 100mm Macro lens and GO PRO 6 along with Tripod. This was my 1st video with macro lens, and surprisingly the video quality is better than go pro 6. The advantage of using go pro is wide angle. You may notice in my video, all the closeups were taken by macro lens. I didnt edit the clips of macro lens its direct from the camera, but for go pro YES, i have to edit a bit.
I had an amazing experience at the park, will go again in near future for more videos and photos.

Singapore Sentosa - Butterfly Park
The Butterfly Park is part of the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom attraction at Singapore's Sentosa. Singapore has about 290 known species of butterflies, and Butterfly Park claims that they have 70 species on display. I went on a quiet sunny day and spotted only a handful of species. There are not many butterflies on display. The main attractions in the park are the Toco Toucan, the Red-and-Green Macaws, the Blue-and-Yellow Macaws, and a lazy-looking Green Iguana, where visitors can take pictures with them for SGD10 for every picture. I also spotted 2 monitor lizards, a small one which moves freely and a large one kept behind glasses. A tiny house at the side is the pupa house, you will see many pupae inside and with a window slightly open to allow fully developed butterflies to escape. The place is quite small as you can see from the video. The place is open to the public everyday from 9.30am to 7pm. There is a small entrance fee though.
Sentosa’s Nature Discovery, Butterfly Park, Insect Kingdom, & Aviary | Singapore | We.Are.Wanderful
MAY 29, 2011—We've pretty much explored most of the popular attractions and tried most of the rides in Sentosa Island when, quite by accident, we discovered the Aviary, Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom, and Nature Discovery in the northwestern tip of the island.
This is a short slideshow video presentation of our photos during our visit in Sentosa's Nature Discovery, Butterfly Park, Insect Kingdom, and Aviary. Enjoy watching.

Overcome your fear of Insects @ Singapore Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom
Insectophobia, Lepidopterophobia, Entomophobia... Whatever you call it (it's fear of insects!), I am deadly afraid of insects, and this fear of butterflies have long haunted me. On this trip to Singapore I decided to visit the butterfly garden in Sentosa Singapore (official name: Butterfly Kingdom Sentosa/ Butterfly kingdom Singapore/ Butterfly and insect kingdom), not only to see the butterflies of Singapore but to overcome my phobia of insects, actually the phobia of butterfiles is my prime goal.
How will I do it? Easy, to overcome the phobia of butterflies or the phobia of bugs is to immerse myself in that environment and to hold what I fear the most... So if you're someone who is afraid of butterfiles, always had fear of insects, come join me in this (less common attraction) of Sentosa in Singapore and see if you can overcome the fear of insects with me. What do you have to lose? Afterall I am the one that is holding the butterflies and bugs in my hand~
The Singapore butterfly and insect kingdom is a hidden place in Sentosa, sometimes people refer to it as the Singapore butterfly park (but then I think there are more than 1 here). So remember when you ask for directions you specifically ask for the butterfly park Sentosa island Singapore, otherwise you might end up in the Singapore butterfly park in the airport.

Chrysiridia madagascariensis on display at Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom- Sentosa
Chrysiridia madagascariensis and other moths on display at Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom- Sentosa, Singapore.
The Madagascan sunset moth (Chrysiridia rhipheus) is a day-flying moth of the family Uraniidae. It is considered one of the most impressive and appealing-looking lepidopterans. Famous worldwide, it is featured in most coffee table books on Lepidoptera and is much sought after by collectors. It is very colourful, though the iridescent parts of the wings do not have pigment; rather the colours originate from optical interference. Adults have a wingspan of 7--9 cm (2.8--3.5 in).
Dru Drury, who described the moth in 1773, placed it in the genus Papilio, considering it a butterfly. Jacob Hübner placed it in the moth genus Chrysiridia in 1823. Later redescriptions led to junior synonyms such as Chrysiridia madagascariensis (Lesson, 1831).
Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom :
A landscape garden with over 15,000 live butterflies, representing more than fifty species. Housed in a cool outdoor conservatory, these butterflies range from the 25 mm (1 in) Eurema sari to the 150 mm (6 in) Papilio iswara. The Insect Kingdom houses some 3,000 species of rare insects from around the world, including a 160 mm Dynastes Hercules beetle.
