THE WAY OF ST. JAMES - 530 miles in 29 days on foot through Spain (Camino de Santiago)
Ten years ago in 2007 I went on this hiking trip - a pilgrimage actually.
I took a whole truckload of photographs since making videos was not in my mind at that time.
It was a life changing experience for me - finding the way, finding the next place to sleep, and finding myself, and I am thankful for having learned so much about myself along the way.
I picked 100 of the photographs and put them together in a little slideshow.
Come along and join me on my trip... Walk on the Way of St. James.

Camino Portuguese Way 5/5, from Tui to Santiago de Compostela, last 100km | CaminoWays.com
The last section of the Camino Portugués (Portuguese Way) starts in the border town of Tui, separated from Portugal only by the River Minho and the International Bridge.
From Tui to Santiago de Compostela, the Camino trail passes through wooded areas, farmlands and hamlets, as well as historic towns and cities. On this section, you will reach the Galician coast in Arcade, a town famous for its oyster festival; and the city of Pontevedra with its classic Galician old town and pedestrian centre. Being in the Rías Baixas, make sure you sample the region's famous white wine, Albariño. On your way to Santiago, you will also pass Padrón, hometown of Galicia's most famous poet, Rosalía de Castro. - See more at:

Camino Finisterre Way from Santiago to Muxía | CaminoWays.com
Walk the Camino all the way to the Atlantic Coast, along the Finisterre Way or Camino de Fisterra #caminodefisterra, to the ‘End of the World’!
This Camino de Santiago route is unique, as it is the only one starting in Santiago de Compostela. There is a good reason for it.
This Camino route pre-dates Christianity, as pagans would head to Fisterra on the Costa da Morte (Coast of Death) where they believed the sun died and the worlds of the dead and the living became closer.
Prayers would be said and offerings would be made to please the gods. Fisterra is also believed to be the place of Ara Solis, a magical place and altar dedicated to the dying sun.
The Finisterre Way can be continued along the rugged coast to the sanctuary of A Virxe da Barca in Muxía, a traditional pilgrimage destination in a stunning location by the Atlantic Ocean. Muxía is home to its famous rocking stones, said to cure ailments.

The Way of Saint James [El Camino de Santiago]
The Camino de Santiago, the world's oldest pilgrimmage route, (Latin: Peregrinatio Compostellana, Galician: Camiño de Santiago) is also known by the English names Way of St. James, St. James's Way, St. James's Path, St. James's Trail, Route of Santiago de Compostela, and Road to Santiago, is the name of the pilgrimage routes, known as pilgrim ways, to the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. Many follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth. It is also popular with hiking and cycling enthusiasts as well as organized tours.

Memories of my pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
March 2012-April 2012
The Way: Walking Tour of Spain
For thousands of years, pilgrims of diverse faiths from around the world have traveled a path to honor Saint James, whose remains are believed to be held at the Cathedral de Santiago.
Though early pilgrims began their journeys from their literal doorsteps, modern travelers often make the trek along the popular Camino Frances route, an 800-kilometer (500 mile) path which starts in France at the St. Jean Pied de Port and crosses the Pyrenees Mountains. Some choose to travel just portions of the path.
Yellow arrows mark the way for pilgrims, who travel by foot, bicycle--even horseback, and travel an average of 12 and 15 miles each day between towns. At this rate, walking the entire 800-kilometers might take six to eight weeks. Regardless of the distance traveled, the highlight of the journey is the destination--a Pilgrim's Mass at the...

Camino de Santiago Documentary Film - The Way
I did my Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage in April/May 2004. To be authentic, I walked the whole French Way; 34 days, 18 kg of gear, 764 km on foot. I lost 8 kg in weight!
What happened to Mark? Watch his latest film - a motorcycle pilgrimage around Australia
I had read a lot about the Camino being a spiritual experience, and I wanted to try and capture on film my own reactions as I walked the way.
I find watching the film a little difficult, I feel a little embarrassed at just how earnest and honest I was trying to be. But the reaction from viewers has been amazing. Still, all these years later, people contact me thanking me for documenting my journey.
I have a little facebook page for the film. Despite not really doing anything with this page, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger, reaching close to 1,000 people.
So I've decided to release the whole film, in it's entirety on youtube. I will have ads running in the video and encourage you to explore these ads, any income for a independent filmmaker is handy, and will help me continue my current journey of trying to film the whole world.
Feel free to share, comment and like the video. I'm always happy to hear how my little film helped encourage people to do the Camino themselves. It is an amazing journey, a one of a kind experience.
Hice mi Camino de Santiago en abril / mayo de 2004. Ser auténtico , caminé todo el Camino Francés , 34 días , 18 kg de artes de pesca, 764 kilometros a pie. He perdido 8 kg de peso !
