The Cagsawa is 16th-century Franciscan church. It was originally built in the town of Cagsawa in 1587 but was burned down by Dutch pirates in 1636. It was rebuilt in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was destroyed again, along with the town of Cagsawa, in February 1, 1814, during the eruption of the Mayon Volcano.

We started fresh on the second day of our #epicride2017 to Bicol. It was unfortunate that the sky didn't totally clear up to reveal Mayon Volcano. Nevertheless, we enjoyed every bit of time we had riding from one tourist spot to another. Tasting the Bicol Express Fruit Shake is one of a kind.

The Cagsawa Ruins (also spelled as Kagsawa or Cagsaua) are the remnants of a 16th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was originally built in the town of Cagsawa in 1587 but was burned down and destroyed by Dutch pirates in 1636. It was rebuilt in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was destroyed again, along with the town of Cagsawa, on February 1, 1814, during the eruption of the Mayon Volcano.
The ruins are currently located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga, Albay, Philippines. It is part of Cagsawa Park, is protected and maintained by the municipal government of Daraga and the National Museum of the Philippines, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. The Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin, one of the world's top travel trade shows based in Berlin, has even recognized the site as one of the places to visit in Asia.

The Cagsawa Ruins (also spelled as Kagsawa or Cagsaua) are the remnants of an 18th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was built in 1724, but was destroyed by the eruption of the Mayon Volcano in 1814. It is located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga, Albay, Philippines.
The ruins, currently protected in a park overseen by the municipal government of Daraga and the National Museum of the Philippines, are one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area
The baroque church of Cagsawa was built after 1724 by Franciscan friars under Fray Francisco Blanco in the small town of Cagsawa (spelled as Cagsaua during the Hispanic occupation of the Philippines) It was supposed to replace an earlier church built in 1636 that had been burned down by Dutch pirates.
On February 1, 1814, the strongest eruption recorded to date of the Mayon volcano buried the town of Cagsawa and its surrounding areas in under several hundred million cubic meters of tephra and lahar killing an estimated 1,200 people. Hundreds of inhabitants of the town of Cagsawa purportedly sought refuge in the church, but were also killed by pyroclastic flows and lahar. Only the belfry and some parts of the convent survive today, though parts of the crumbling facade were still standing long after the 1814 eruption as attested by photographs. It is believed that the facade of the structure collapsed due to earthquakes that hit the area in the 1950s

Philippines Vlog: We traveled to Legazpi to see Mayon Volcano. Flying into Legazpi, we were amazed at the beautiful landscape, thousands of coconut palms cover the surrounding hills of Bicol, the southernmost region of Luzon. In the distance, the almost perfect cone of Mayon Volcano appears, rising through the clouds, 8,081 ft (2,043 m) in elevation.
Volcanic activity and tremors have been increasing during the past several weeks, prompting evacuations in the area. As the volcano simmers, the local news stations report; an eruption is imminent.
Mayon is a perfect stratovolcano and one of the most famous active volcanos in the world. The symmetry of this geographical wonder is mesmerizing, I could sit silently and watch it for hours. We were very fortunate to have a few clear days to observe Mayon. On our last couple of days a thunderstorm moved in and obscured the view completely.
After Legazpi, we flew back to Manila and spent our last day visiting Laguna, Los Banos and the American cemetery.
Overall, traveling the Philippines was the experience of a lifetime. The landscapes, the beaches, the mountains, the lovely Filipino people... all so beautiful, it made for an unforgettable experience.

CAGSAWA RUINS IN BICOL (IN LOVE WITH MAYON VOLCANO)
Cagsawa Ruins was the first stop that we had during our vacation in Legazpi City, Bicol. The weather wasn't that friendly but we made to a point that we enjoy our vacation together no matter what.
Finally, i was able to edit my videos when i went for vacation on the early part of this year in the Philippines. This is going to be an extraordinary adventure together with the people i love.
