On a lovely October afternoon I stood on the porch of the Drum Point Lighthouse, built in 1883 and is one of the four surviving screwpile lighthouses left along the Chesapeake Bay area, and caught some of the beauty of the area on camera.

Solomons can be a REALLY bad place to live. You can get some really bad, LOUD music EVERY weekend. Police don't care. You can't be outside. Forget opening your windows. No noise laws here. Screaming patrons don't help.

ST. MICHAELS, Maryland -- Hundreds turned out recently to take on this year’s Ultimate Lighthouse Challenge. Participants attempted to see 10 lighthouses across the state all in one weekend and collect prizes from each location.
