Montana: Land of the Big Sky
From the original press release: Take a vacation trip to anyplace in Montana - and there's something for everyone. This beautifully filmed color movie takes a leisurely trip through Montana, from Glacier National Park at the top of the state and the top of the continent with helicopter views of a scenic masterpiece...through the fantastic underground wonderland of Lewis and Clark Caverns...on a tour of Custer's last battleground with a reenactment of that final conflict...saddle horse riding on remote, high country trails...camping in Nature's finest neighborhood...fishing miles of blue-ribbon trout streams...the frontier re-creation at Virginia City...sailboating and water-skiing at lovely Flathead Lake...the excitement of rodeo...traveling down the miles of Montana to Yellowstone National Park and its three Montana entrances. Sponsored by the Montana Travel Promotion Unit and Montana Power Company, this 27 1/2-minute color film is in itself a journey through the vacation adventure that is Montana. With a new introduction by filmmaker Robert Henkel. Produced in 1971. (collection MOV 0099)

Après Adventures: Horseback riding in Beaver Creek
Ryan Ross gets a little wild and a little strange as he takes on the Beaver Creek stables for his first foray into becoming a true cowboy. Check out how he does on his horse, Pig, and why charilifts and aspens make the perfect Western backdrop.

The Journey Begins
On May 25th, Parker Flannery and his friends Ben Masters and Mike Pinckney set off on their trail ride up the Continental Divide from Canjilon, New Mexico. Two of the horses (the bays) that went with them are BLM mustangs adopted from long-term holding pens in Oklahoma this past winter. One of the horses, Cassie, was adopted by the Cimarron Sky-Dog Reserve, a wild horse sanctuary in New Mexico. Parker, a trainer with the Mustang Heritage Foundation, trained these two horses and here they all are setting off on the trail! Good luck boys! Stay safe and have fun. We'll miss you!
2015 update: The ride was a success! All returned home safe and sound. ... including Cassie. The Cimarron Sky-Dog Reserve dissolved its non-profit but all of the horses still live free on 1,100 acres at Shadowlands Ranch, a private ranch in Watrous, NM.

Montana Motorcycle Trip 2018
A trip that begins on my Harley. After getting my motorcycle checked out by the dealership, off I go. 80 miles into the trip, my Y-pipe cracks. Get it welded. Then... Well, watch the video, and the beautiful places I was able to experience despite the failures and ultimate good memories of this epic adventure. The latter half of summer 2018 saw a lot of wildfires in the western states - including Glacier National Park and the Howe Ridge fire. There was an eerie haze throughout the entire Midwest, and worse in Montana as you will see. But still a lot of gorgeous scenery and plenty of blue-sky days.
