Eagle Mountain Lake FW TX. Pt 3 Solo Walk and Hike
Walk and Hike with me. My son and I have found a great place to become regulars. There are several challenging trails to get me into shape. I hope you take this journey with me. I will share my weight with you from week to week in a video soon. We did get a chance to read and relax after our workout. It was nice and cool before the rain. Early bird gets the worm.

Rocky Hollow - A place for people to come together
Step Inside

There’s nothing quite like waking up to a Hill Country sunrise.
From the moment you rise at this Rocky Hollow ranchette, you are surrounded by spectacular views of this ten-acre, beautifully landscaped private oasis.
Designed like a centuries-old Tuscan farmhouse, you can see the inspiration in all of the details throughout the interior and exterior from the mosaic tile flooring to the wisteria-covered arbor adjacent to the three car garage.
Very few large-lot homes in the Texas Hill Country have been so thoroughly manicured and designed for easy maintenance. This park-like estate was designed for both beauty and functionality and native sustainability. The ground itself offers fertile soil, uncommon to much of Texas.
Each day offers a new colorful bloom, whether it be one of the 47 varieties of roses, wildflowers, or one of many blossoms on the fruit trees in the orchard.
Everyone has their own space at the Estate at Rocky Hollow. Inside you’ll find four bedrooms each with their own private balcony and views of the property as well as two living areas and a private study.
A gourmet kitchen inspires family meals complimented by fresh produce from the organic gardens. Floor to ceiling windows offer hill country portraits of the fauna and flora.
Outdoor activities abound from splashing in the pool, to playing in the gated playground, relaxing in the shade at one of the property's amazing lookout points, feeding the chickens, and picking fresh produce from the organic vegetable garden and orchard trees.
From crafting one-of-a-kind projects in the stand-alone workshop, to meditating near the trickling fountain in the lily pond or hosting a poolside barbecue in the outdoor kitchen, the grounds truly offer something for everyone.
Every detail has been dedicated to living and easy and free hill country lifestyle. Even the mudroom is a just step inside from the pergola covered outdoor shower and offers quick access to a half bath. Great for rinsing off after a morning in one of the many gardens.
Just a short drive away from this uniquely private retreat, city amenities abound. The property is only a 6.8 mile drive from local grocery store, H-E-B. Seton Burnet Healthcare Center and Seton Highland Lakes Hospital is less than ten miles away.
Also close by, you’ll find several wineries , an abundance of local restaurants, plenty of shopping and a great local brewery.
Inks Lake State Park, Longhorn Caverns, and Canyon of The Eagles are a great way to spend an afternoon. When you’re ready to submerge yourself in total relaxation at the world class spa at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
The entire neighborhood is wildlife-protected land, meaning it offers a tax exemption to all residents in the Rocky Hollow Community.
Mature oak trees keep the property cool in the summer and provide a sweet respite for migrating hummingbirds and butterflies. You may even see a bald aagle as this property is in the path of their spring migration.
At the end of the day at the Estate at Rocky Hollow, it's nice to enjoy a glass of wine on the oversized balcony and relax to the peaceful sounds of nature, soaking in the hill country bliss as the sun goes down over the orchard trees.

Swainson's Warbler at Booty's Road Park, Georgetown, TX (Williamson Co.), 5/15/16
This video was taken on 5/15/16 at Booty's Road Park in Georgetown, TX (Williamson County) with my Canon SX50 HS. The bird was about 15 meters from me. If you listen carefully, you can hear a Canyon Wren sing a couple of times in the background, making this perhaps the only location on Earth where you can hear these two species singing on territory at the same time.
Texas Wildflowers in the Hill Country
This is a road near Lake Buchanan and Canyon of the Eagles in Burnet County, Texas. Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes abound! Turn your sound down though! It gets a bit loud at the end.
Teen dies after fight outside middle school
A 13-year old girl from Attucks Middle School ended up on life support at Texas Children's Hospital two days after a fight off campus.
Kashala Francis' mother, Mamie Jackson, says her daughter told her she was attacked by two girls after school on Thursday, and that another girl later jumped in and kicked her in the head.
Jackson says when her daughter returned home Thursday afternoon, she had a bruise on her face, but insisted she was okay.
Small stream flowing into Inks Lake near Burnet, Texas
In Inks Lake State Park (Burnet, Texas) the creeks that flow from their springs, rain and the large granite outcrops are always a great expirience to explore. This one is on the Devil's Watering Hole Trail.
