Fayetteville Regional Airport Wall Breaking Ceremony-Nov 14 2017
A wall-breaking ceremony for Part I of the Fayetteville Regional Airport’s terminal renovation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.
Part I of the Fayetteville Regional Airport terminal renovation is funded by Federal and State grants and Airport funds. Renovations will begin with the demolition of Concourse A, which was built in 1969. The new concourse will be a second level jet bridge with a ground loading gate that will service aircraft and two parking positions on the eastern side of the building. Renovations will also include the replacement and relocation of the restaurant. The new restaurant and kitchen space will be located past airport security to accommodate customers who are waiting for their departures and will be available to customers on arriving flights.
This portion of the renovation will be an 18-month construction phase, which will not affect travelers. The Airport will be fully operational during renovations and will continue to be the leader in southeastern North Carolina for airline services, general aviation and rental car services. Travelers can expect the project to be completed in the spring of 2019.
