Apprentice Program: Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson
August 4-6
An exhilarating and riotous look at one of our nation’s founding rock stars, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson reinvents the life of our seventh president. Created by Michael Friedman and Alex Timbers, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson begins with the President’s early days as a child on the wild frontier and follows his steady climb from military strategist to populist rabble-rouser to President of the United States. With a raucous blend of outrageous comedy, anarchic theatricality and an infectious score, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson encourages audience participation and rocking out. It’s a night about politics you actually won’t want to miss!

Preview of TUCK EVERLASTING at DCT
Would you drink from the fountain of youth if you had the chance? In TUCK EVERLASTING at Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT), family, friendship and the value of a life well lived is contemplated in the heartwarming stage adaptation of Natalie Babbitt’s award-winning novel. TUCK EVERLASTING runs at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts from March 22 – April 7, 2019.
Young Winnie Foster suddenly finds herself faced with the dilemma of keeping a shocking secret when she ventures from her routine one single summer morning. What she encounters at the foot of a magnificent tree in the woods on her family's land brings her face to face with monumental life choices. A romance, a new family, perhaps eternal life? What follows is a whirlwind of events and a life-affirming adventure that The New York Times called fearsome and beautifully written. Considered one of the classics of modern children's literature, this poetic story comes intensely to life on the DCT stage.
Before every performance of TUCK EVERLASTING, audience members will have a chance to solve Winnie’s word search dilemma and perhaps find their own key to the challenging questions posed in the play. On opening night, Pudding on Smiles will delight audiences with a free sweet treat. As always, there will be autographs, free posters, and giveaways for all in attendance.

Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal - Hans Grim and the Elisions Chorus - Lauren Urso soloist
This recording is from my senior concert entitled Elisions. It was presented at Texas Wesleyan University on March 6th, 2012. A group of 46 volunteer chorus members agreed to allow me to conduct them. Here are the notes from the program about this selection:
This piece was a TMEA All-State piece my senior year in high school and it is very enjoyable to visit a piece I first met half a lifetime ago. It illustrates to me how much more refined my ear and mind are for the nuances of the music, yet reminds me of my ever-present passion for the music.
Chorus members:
Megan Kelly Bates, Stephen Bates, Rachel Griffin Baughman, Sophia Bohannon, Jeff Bond , Adrian Bumgarner, Alex Carr, Dave Cave, Emily Davis, Andrew Decker, Don Devous, Carey Monaghan Durham, Leslie Elston, Evan Faris, Janie Faris, Alicia Richey Gaby, Lisa Gafford, Abbey Griffin, Bridgette Griffin, David Griffin, Wes Griffin, Evan Grim, Mary Gilbreath Grim, Maximilian Grim, Ray Grim, Hans Patrick Grim, Kristie Reece Knickerbocker, Jan Lackey, Bobby LaMee, Wiley Lindsey, Dalton Lovell, Tiffany Morgan, Dan C. Parris, Kathy Parris, Judy Pugh, Derrada R. Rubell-Asbell, Cynthia Sadler, Christian Sanders, Stephanie Sanders, Lauren Sasser, Kalani-Makana Smith, Austin R. Elision /ɪˈlɪʒən/ - when the last note of one phrase serves as the first note of the next phrase.
Typically the musical term 'elision', as applied to music, refers to a single chord serving as the end of one phrase and the beginning of another, but the idea of something being both the end of one thing and the beginning of another provides the inspiration for this concert.
Just as this concert represents the end of my undergraduate career, it also serves as the first step towards being accepted into graduate school. In this way I view the concert as an 'elision' of sorts. The opening arrangement of Blackbird ends on a minor chord which serves as the opening chord of the next piece, Water Night. This is a further extension of the term elision.
In the pairing of Zueignung and Love to Me, the final vocal note of D serves as a common tone between the key of D and Bb in the second selection. Almost every performer pictured on the cover of this program represents both an end and a beginning of chapters of my life. In that way, they are all human elisions in the score that is my life. As such, they have born witness to what was my past and they are ushering in the future.
Please enjoy this concert of 'elisions'.
Hans Grim is a music director and pianist in the Fort Worth area finishing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Wesleyan University this spring. He is the 2011 first place winner of the ΣAI American Music Scholarship competition as a vocalist. He has provided music direction for theatres including Casa Mañana, Texas Christian University, WaterTower, Theatre Arlington, the University of North Texas and the Granbury Opera House. He has also been featured as a member of the Music Man quartet at Bass Hall with Casa Mañana and in Addison with WaterTower Theatre.
This concert serves as the final concert celebrating a truly epic undergraduate program that began in the Fall of 1994. During that time, Hans has studied music at the University of Texas, San Antonio College, Texas Wesleyan, the University of Texas at Arlington, Weatherford College, and the University of North Texas and most recently has returned to Texas Wesleyan. He taught for three years as a Fine Arts Faculty member at the All Saints' Episcopal School and plans to rejoin the teaching profession upon graduation.

7 Facts about Jensen Ackles
Here are some random facts about Jensen Ackles :)
About Jensen:
Jensen Ross Ackles (born March 1, 1978) is an American actor and director. He is known for his roles in television as Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives, which earned him several Daytime Emmy Award nominations, as well as Alec/X5-494 in Dark Angel and Jason Teague in Smallville. Ackles currently stars as Dean Winchester on the CW series Supernatural.
After modelling on and off since the age of 4, Ackles began to concentrate on an acting career in 1996. He appeared in several guest roles on Mr. Rhodes, Sweet Valley High, and Cybill before joining the cast of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady in 1997. He won a 1998 Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer and went on to be nominated three times (in 1998, 1999, and 2000) for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Days of our Lives.
Ackles departed Days of our Lives in 2000 and went on to appear in the mini-series Blonde, about the life of Marilyn Monroe. He also auditioned for the role of the young Clark Kent on Smallville, a role offered to actor Tom Welling instead.[4] Next he appeared in a guest role on the James Cameron television series Dark Angel on Fox in 2001 as serial killer Ben/X5-493, the brother of main character Max/X5-452 (played by Jessica Alba). His character died in the episode, but Ackles returned to the show as a series regular in the second season as Ben's sane clone, Alec/X5-494. He remained with the show until its cancellation in 2002.
Ackles worked steadily throughout 2003. He joined the cast of the WB's hit show Dawson's Creek during its final season, playing CJ, Jen Lindley's lover. Afterward, Ackles filmed several episodes of the unaired series Still Life for Fox before it was abruptly dropped. He also had a small role in the 2004 short film The Plight of Clownana. Ackles was the producer's first choice to play Eliza Dushku's love interest on the second season of Tru Calling,[5] Ackles turned down the role, which was then offered to Eric Christian Olsen and the character's name was changed to Jensen because the producers of Tru Calling liked Ackles' name. Ackles returned to Vancouver (where Dark Angel was filmed) in 2004 to become a regular on Smallville playing the assistant football coach Jason Teague, who was also the newest romantic interest for Lana Lang (played by Kristin Kreuk). He also had a lead role in the 2005 film Devour in which Ackles' father, actor Alan Ackles, also had a role playing the father of Ackles' character, Jake Gray.
Most recently, Ackles joined the cast of the CW horror/drama series Supernatural in 2005, where he stars as Dean Winchester. Dean and his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) drive throughout the United States hunting paranormal predators, sometimes with their father, John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The ninth season ended broadcast on May 20, 2014 with a tenth season scheduled for fall 2014.
In the summer of 2007, Ackles took on the role of Priestly in the independent comedy Ten Inch Hero. The film began hitting the film festival circuit in early 2007 and Ackles received high praise for his comedic timing in the role. In February 2009, the film was released on DVD exclusively by Blockbuster Home Video. He also appeared on stage from June 5–10, 2007 with Lou Diamond Phillips in A Few Good Men at Casa Mañana Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas, as Lt. Daniel Kaffee. Ackles received strong praise for his work in this role, which was also his professional theatre debut.
In the summer of 2008, Ackles was cast in the remake of the cult film My Bloody Valentine 3D, which opened nationwide on January 16, 2009.
In summer of 2010, Ackles lent his voice as the Red Hood (Jason Todd) for the animated film, Batman: Under The Red Hood, which was released to DVD and Blu-ray on July 27.
On October 22, 2010, Disney Interactive Studios announced that he would be voicing a character named Gibson in the video game, Tron: Evolution, which was released on December 7, 2010.

Review:
While stationed in Thailand in 1972 during the Vietnam War, I had an opportunity to get a part-time job operating a movie projector at the base theater for the midnight show. One of the films I was fortunate to show was Somthing Big, a rowdy, unpretentious western with a fun and talented cast headed by Dean Martin, Brian Keith, Albert Salmi and Honor Blackman. The film's strongest point is that it didn't take itself too seriously, yet still presented a fine array of subplots and character studies that nicely wove themselves together to a rousing finale. What has stuck out most in my mind for over the past 30+ years, however, was the movie's theme song. Like the film itself, the title song was a joyous and melodic tribute to the desire in everyone to reach for that star in the heavens, or that impossible dream. It is disappointing that the film never made it to VHS or DVD. If it ever shows up on cable TV, don't miss an opportunity to see this lost guilty pleasure. Written by Thinman2001.

Diretto da Elio Petri. Con Gian Maria Volonté, Irene Papas, Gabriele Ferzetti, Mario Scaccia, Luigi Pistilli.
Italia (1967). 93 min
Questo film segna l'inizio del fortunato sodalizio artistico fra Elio Petri, Ugo Pirro e Gian Maria Volonté.
Liberamente ispirato all'omonimo romanzo di Leonardo Sciascia.
A leftist professor wants the truth about two men killed during a hunting party; but the mafia, the Church and corrupt politicians don't want him to learn it.
