GETTING OUR FORTUNES IN ASAKUSA (Senso-ji Temple + Asahi Headquarters!)
Good fortune or bad fortune, which will it be? Come with us to Asakusa to find out!
Today we are testing our luck and exploring Asakusa which is home to Senso-ji, Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, where one of us gets a good fortune and one of us does not. Can you guess who? The temple is beautiful and also a tourist trap but it is worth the trip and the crowds.
In the afternoon we head over to SkyTree where Logan lives out his widest childhood dreams in the Pokemon Center and Jenny does her best to keep up. We also try some delicious cold iced matcha green teas at Nana's Green Tea as a cheeky afternoon snack.
We end the afternoon with ice cold beers and panoramic views at the Asahi Headquarters Asahi Beer Hall. There's nothing quite like amazing views and cold brews!
But this is only Part 1. Subscribe to get notified when Friday's vlog goes live where we do a taste test of various convenience store foods. :)

Of the two areas, I thought Ueno had more to offer of interest even though Yanaka is supposed to be more historical.

☆Bits of knowledge〜Tokyo Bunka Kaikan〜
Tokyo Bunka Kaikan is one of the oldest concert halls for classical music in Japan. It opened in April 1961 in response to a desire by the public for a venue to enjoy opera and ballet in Japan. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government constructed it as part of its 500th anniversary celebration. Since then, it's been sometimes dubbed the 'Music Palace'. However, I would like to call it a 'Ballet Palace' as well, for many major ballet concerts have been held for decades here at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
Unfortunately, there are no concert halls in Japan as historical and magnificent as theaters like The Palais Garnier, The Teatro alla Scala, The Bolshoi Theatre and The Mariinsky Theatre are. The only ones in which we can see traditional performing arts and be proud of would probably be the Kabuki-za in Ginza or Minami-za in Kyoto. Yet considering the fact that 'Western' culture such as classical music and ballet have been imported to Japan without restrictions only after the Second World War, you can understand why we don't have many 'historical' concert halls in Japan.

Muslim Tourism in Enoshima
The beachfront, which is lined with establishments such as fancy cafes and an aquarium.
A place with many enjoyable spots where you can experience historic shrines, gardens and townscape.
We visited the tourist spot by the sea, which is about one hour away by Romancecar from Shinjuku in Tokyo, to see if it can be enjoyed by Muslims.

Japan Holiday 2017 Vlog #10 & #11 - Ghibli Museum, Tokyo Pub Crawl, NJPW shop, Shonen Jump Shop
This is the tenth and eleventh Vlog in a series from our Japan holiday from September 2017. There wasn't a lot of footage from days 10 and 11 so I combined it to one video.
Day 10 we went to the Studio Ghibli Museum then went to the Tokyo Pub Crawl in Roppongi. Unfortunately, you can't film inside the Ghibli Museum hence the lack of footage.
Day 11 was a relaxed day because we were so hungover from the Pub Crawl. We went to the New Japan Pro Wrestling shop then went to check out the Tokyo Dome. Had a look around the Shonen Jump Shop. Then we also stopped by a bar in Takadanobaba called 2nd Half to watch the Celtic game.
Filmed on a GoPro Hero 5 and edited with Adobe Premiere.
Look out for video 12 coming soon!

Japan Vlog #10 - Museum Day
Japan - November 2016
Our tenth day in Japan consisted of museums! We visited the Studio Ghibli Museum (no photos or videos allowed inside) and then the Cup Noodle Museum! Overall, it was a fun day. Sorry for the lack of vlogging!
NOTE: There's a typo in the title. It says 'day 8' when it should say 'day 10.'

☆Bits of knowledge〜Ueno Station〜
The present-day Ueno Station is served by 11 lines of the Tohoku Shinkansen, Akita Shinkansen, Joetsu Shinkansen, Nagano Shinkansen, Yamagata Shinkansen, Joban Line, Joban/Narita Line, Utsunomiya Line, Takasaki Line, Yamanote Line and Keihin-Tohoku Line, and two lines of Tokyo Metro. Approximately 350,000 passengers get on and off at the station every day. It is truly a gateway to the northern part of Japan. The station has a history of 130 years from Meiji, Taisho, Showa to Heisei Periods, and is a place full of memories for people who came to Tokyo from Tohoku and Joetsu Regions and for people who left for Tohoku and Joetsu Regions.
The Tohoku Shinkansen began service in 1982, connecting Omiya and Morioka, and its line was extended from Omiya to Ueno in 1985, and from Ueno to Tokyo in 1991. Later, the remodeling of the station building started in 2002, and shopping malls and galleries were built in the station. Also, the Panda Bridge, a connection bridge connecting the Main Exit and the Ueno Park Exit, was built, and customers who visit those facilities and passengers come and go through this bridge.
