Mammoth Cave: A Place Called Home
In the heart of South Central Kentucky, Mammoth Cave National Park is a draw for people from around the world. This area holds the longest known cave system in the world and a rich history of family and community that reaches back generations. The people living in the Mammoth Cave area had a unique bond with those around them and to the land that would one day become a national park. Mammoth Cave: A Place Called Home is a tale of communities lost and a National Park gained as a legacy to those who knew and loved the cave and for those who would come after.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Mammoth Cave National Park is an American national park in central Kentucky, encompassing portions of Mammoth Cave, the longest cave system known in the world. Since the 1972 unification of Mammoth Cave with the even-longer system under Flint Ridge to the north, the official name of the system has been the Mammoth–Flint Ridge Cave System. The park was established as a national park on July 1, 1941, a World Heritage Site on October 27, 1981, and an international Biosphere Reserve on September 26, 1990.
The park's 52,830 acres (21,380 ha) are located primarily in Edmonson County, with small areas extending eastward into Hart and Barren counties. The Green River runs through the park, with a tributary called the Nolin River feeding into the Green just inside the park. Mammoth Cave is the world's longest known cave system with more than 400 miles (640 km) of surveyed passageways, which is nearly twice as long as the second-longest cave system, Mexico's Sac Actun underwater cave.

Wesley Chapel Gulf/Boiling Spring - Hoosier National Forest
Hike down into the gulf for a glimpse of Boiling Spring, where Indiana's subterranean Lost River bubbles up from it's underground path. The gulf is believed to have been a series of sinkholes that collapsed and slowly dissolved away, leaving an 8 acre canyon of sorts, with walls ranging from 25' to 95'. The 187 acre preserve is managed by the Hoosier National Forest Service, and is mostly undeveloped. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1972. Archaeological studies have found evidence of human habitation in the gulf up to 10,000 years ago.

Sloan Bridge Falls
Directions: These 2 waterfalls are next to the Foothills Trail in Oconee County. Parking is at the Sloan Bridge access for the trail, very near the NC state line. If you are in Cashiers, drive down Hwy 107 into South Carolina. The Sloan Bridge parking is on the right a short distance from the border. If you get to the left turn that connects to SC130/NC281 to Whitewater Falls, you've gone too far. I came from Lake Toxaway, so I drove down 281 south past Whitewater Falls and took a right towards Hwy 107. This road is Wiggington Rd (SR413), but I don't think it's marked. At Hwy 107, turn right and drive a short distance to the parking area on the left.
The trail begins at the south end of the parking lot. It's fairly easy and follows the east fork of the Chattooga River. After about 1/4 mile, you'll glimpse and hear the small falls. There's a steep scramble path down towards the base.
A short distance from the main falls is another 10' drop.
