Rent Buggy Cenote Tour - Playa Del Carmen Mexico
Before we left for Mexico we found out about a really neat tour in Mexico called Rent Buggy. They take you by ATV into the jungle to explore a cenote and visit a Mayan village. It was a great tour and a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone. For more info check out their website
Dos Ojos Cenote dive with Cenote Xperience in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Sept 2012
This was our first time ever diving in caverns and we had the time of our lives! Dos Ojos cenote was truly remarkable with its stalagmites and stalactites. We highly recommend this dive for anyone who is in the area and Cenote Xperience with its tour guide, Nico was absolutely the best choice! The fresh water is so crystal clear, visibility is unlimited and swimming and snorkeling is also allowed at the entry of the cavern. Must put it on your bucket list! :)

Playa Del Carmen: Dune Buggies, Cenotes, and Giving Back at a Mayan Village!
Follow me on my journey as I prepare to leave the cold of Jersey City and head to the beaches of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for a getaway with the fellas!
On Episode 004, we decided to take a break from the beach and cocktails so that we can see more of Mexico's cultural side. Follow along as we ride dune buggies to a cenote and visit a Mayan village.
Meeting the locals and donating to the families was a truly humbling and enriching experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Playa Del Carmen or Tulum.

BREATHTAKING CENOTES in the RIVIERA MAYA
We're discovering some absolutely breathtaking cenotes and the astonishing Coba Ruins in today's Tulum vlog.
►Learn Spanish like us!
If you want to really discover Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and the Riviera Maya area surrounding Cancun, we highly recommend taking this incredible trip to the ancient Mayan Coba ruins. From there, it's just a short drive to these three nearby cenotes.
The entry fee to get into Coba is 70 pesos per person but you should plan on renting bikes to get around the massive Mayan grounds which are 50 pesos per bike. The entry fee for these cenotes is 55 pesos per person per cenote.
If you’ve never been to a cenote, these three near Coba are a wonderful place to start! Not all cenotes are underground like this, in fact, the most popular Playa Del Carmen and Cancun Cenotes are above ground. Still beautiful nonetheless, but nothing compares to venturing deep into the ground near Tulum Mexico to unmask the crystal clear blue/green cenote water below!
Taking a dip into these brisk waters is a little bit of a shock at first, but these cenotes near Playa Del Carmen are probably our best experience on the Yucatan Peninsula to date! It’s not just bikinis and beautiful women in this Playa Del Carmen vlog (although there is plenty of that). Prepare yourself for some of the most gorgeous nature you’ve ever seen with some Quintana Roo cenotes in today’s Mexico travel vlog.

CENOTE CHAC-MOOL_KUKULKAN / diving / PLAYA DEL CARMEN / MEXICO
Amazing underwater experience with sunlight!
Come with us to dive in Mexico / all the Peninsula of YUCATAN :
Playa del Carmen & Valladolid, Mexico 2019: 5th Ave, cenotes & more in the Yucatan pensinsular
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, is one of Mexico's most popular destinations, with plenty of nightlife and shopping to keep you entertained during your stay. We spent our time at Caribbean Paradise Hotel, right in the heart of the town and overlooking Playa del Carmen 5th Avenue, Quinta Avenida, the main strip for bars, restaurants and shops in Playa del Carmen Mexico.
We hired a car to head to Valladolid, Yucatan, for the day and explore some of the local cenotes, and the beautiful architecture of the town. Check out Valladolid from 0:56 on the video. Valladolid, Mexico, has a far less touristic feel to it as a town and is a beautiful town with some great colourful architecture, large squares and a giant cenote just minutes from the town centre, Cenote Zaci. Cenote Zaci in Valladolid, Yucatan, was one of our favourite cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsular. On the way back to Playa del Carmen Quintana Roo from Valladolid, Yuacatan, we also stopped at Cenote Suytun, another famous cenote in the area.

Cave Diving in Cenote Eden - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
Exploring the cave systems and a few underwater passageways between cenotes in the Garden of Eden.
This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever experienced. So beautiful and perfect that I had no interest in stepping out of the moment to take pictures or film, until our friend, Paco, saw I could keep up with him while freediving. He immediately left the water, grabbed a flashlight and a better mask for the both of us and explained that there was a 20 meter stretch of underwater caves that lead to another cenote... and then there was another cenote just beyond that. He tossed me my GoPro and said we were going to get me some good footage.
Paco had a super awesome and energetic vibe to him and he was confident in my diving so I trusted him, he began to gather his breath for the cave dive and said, Follow me. Don't worry. You WILL make it. And then he disappeared. I couldn't help but to laugh as I put my life in his hands. I followed Paco down into a corner that looked nothing more than a pile of rocks, and then he slipped into a crevice that was lit only by his flashlight.
As I entered the mouth of the underwater cave I slipped into the dreamy visuals of something I never thought I'd see and experience before. We swam deeper into the narrow black cave following Paco's cone of light, pulling ourselves across rocks to conserve energy, passing the point of no return, and finally feasting our eyes on the natural blue light of heaven shimmering across the surface. Although desperation for air and panic could have easily set in, the tranquility and surrealism of the dreamy cave visuals encouraged a calm that made the whole experience possible and incredibly beautiful.
Coming face to face with so many intense emotions and bodily sensations, mainly extreme desperation for the most basic ingredient for life - air, was an extremely humbling experience that brought upon a clean slate and grand entrance into the Garden of Eden.
After we caught our breaths and finished chatting with the surprised locals who we emerged next to, we proceeded into another cave system that would lead into a totally private cenote which was blocked off from foot traffic by the overgrown jungle. Our own slice of paradise. We basked in our heaven on earth and then returned back through the caves the way we came.
The visuals and feel of everything from the cone of light illuminating the darkness, vibrant, thriving life on the other side of primal fear, panic and danger, the pure and vibrant blue water, the downed trees, the mossy rocks, the small ancient looking fish sucking on my feet, the perfectly placed jungle ferns and explosive palm trees... it was the most highly perfect human experience I may have ever had.

Scuba diving the longest underwater river system | Yucatan Peninsula, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
#HighOnLife #HOLInspired #Mexico
Imagine deep underneath your feet are these dark caves that stretch on for hundreds of miles. Now imagine that these caves have been completely submerged in water for thousands and thousands of years. And that to navigate these caves, you’ve gotta scuba dive into it with flashlights. Pretty interesting right? According to our diving expert Kenzo, this was on the must-do, must-see list when we got back to Playa del Carmen.
Big thanks to El Taj Oceanfront and Beachside for hosting us.
Stay where we did:
The Yucatan Penisula is believed to be home of the longest underwater river system in the world. Watch as we explore Playa Del Carmen, scuba diving into a new world of hidden caves, sharks, cenotes and much more adventure.
Special thanks to Tank-Ha for taking us scuba diving.

Cenote: The Pit. Playa del Carmen, Mexico, 2009.
This cenote is called The Pit, and it's close to Playa del Carmen, on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. My friend Rachael and I dived there with Jorge Suarez Serrado from divexplorers.com, and I recommend him without hesitation. One of the features of this dive is the layer of hydrogen suflide, at about 30 - 35 m (max depth on this dive approx. 45m). It's a cloud of white, shimmering H2S which sits at the interface between the fresh and salt water, as a result of its density. Passing through it is an eerie experience, and I hope you can see this from the video clip! Enjoy!

Cavern Scuba Diving - Cenote Tajma Ha, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
This is a cut of two dives we did at Cenote Tajma Ha. We could see a lot more light than is picked up on the Go Pro. I was covering my light for a lot of the dive because I wanted to see more of the natural light that was making it's way deeper into the cavern. Our guide, Biro, was from Italy and has been leading cavern dives for 6 years in Mexico.
After doing these dives I gained a greater respect for why you need special training to do these kinds of dives on your own. I can't count how many times I became disoriented in some of the different chambers. Which way did we come from? Where is the way out? We never strayed from the areas we were supposed to be in and I followed Biro closely as you can see.
There were also some beautiful haloclines (where the fresh water mixes with salt water) but they did not show up well on the video.

Cenote Dive in Playa del Carmen
Joao and I dove the Chac Mool cenote near Playa del Carmen. Cenotes were formed when a giant asteroid impacted the seabed along the Yucatan Peninsula creating a limestone rich surface. The sea levels then dropped and rain water created the beautiful cave features (stalactites, stalagmites, among fossilized sea animals) you see in the video. The sea levels then rose and flooded the cenotes with fresh water. It is the fresh caverns that we are diving in. At about three minutes into the video it may look like the video becomes blurry. The camera is not out of focus, instead what you are witnessing is a halocline where fresh water and salt water meet. The Maya regarded cenotes as sacred places, after diving this cenote there is little doubt as to why...
The Best Cenotes Near Cancun
These are some of the best Cenotes near Cancun, in the Riviera Maya area. A serious snowstorm was barreling in on Colorado and I decided to take a last minute trip to the Riviera Maya with my friend Larkin. We ate muchos frijoles, jumped in every Cenote possible, and enjoyed the simple magic of Mexico. We were only there a little over three days, but it was incredible. Viva Mexico! *Thank you Larkin for the awesome sunrise footage at the end of this video.
