Twin Falls Idaho has a small but beautiful park at the edge of the Snake River. On the way down there is a waterfalls that one can hike to and enjoy the cool falls mist and the view of the river. Once at the park you can enjoy a nice place to have a picnic, a hike around the river or rocks or put your boat into the river and spend the day on the water.
Centennial Park and I.B. Perrine Bridge - Twin Falls, ID
Twin Falls, ID - RV Living
We continue to explore southern Idaho and land in Twin Falls this week. Our first stop is to visit Shoshone Falls, the Niagara of the West. From Shoshone Falls, we hike up to the rim of the Snake River Canyon to view an important piece of history in TJ's childhood memories. In 1974, motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel attempted to jump across the Snake River Canyon - 45 years later, we enjoy exploring the launch site of that ill-fated jump. Our last stop in Twin Falls is to visit the Perrine Bridge, which we get a beautiful view of from the Centennial Waterfront Park.

Kayak Shoshone Falls
Shoshone Falls is a bigger than life paddle. Set in at Centennial Waterfront Park (no kayak or SUP? Rent one at the AWOL stand in the park). It’s a 4 hour round trip trek, with a portage around Pillar Falls. The journey offers an awesome view of the I.B. Perrine Bridge, BASE jumpers and Knievel’s jump site from below. At the end, you’ll float at the base of the 212′ Niagara of the West. It’s a downriver float back, but still, waters make the return trip feel the same.

Things To Do In Twin Falls, Idaho 2018
Hey you guys! Thanks for joining me on another journey. I am in Twin Falls, Idaho this week. Our Airbnb host recommended we go kayaking on the Snake River. (Eddie & Julie of Kimberly, ID were absolutely fantastic hosts, by the way. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend you stay there.) We went down to Centennial Waterfront Park and checked in with AWOL Dive & Kayak, a first-class operation. We rented a tandem kayak for half of the day since we weren't sure how far up the river we'd be able to go because of the water levels. They got us on our way along the beautiful Snake. It was so cool to go under Perrine Bridge! It is a BASE jumping site that is known all over the world. It might be the only man-made structure where BASE jumping is allowed year-round without a permit. We had no idea whatsoever that there were jumpers taking the plunge off the bridge behind us until after we uploaded the camera footage! :-D We were so jazzed to discover them, and had a good laugh at ourselves about our ignorance! We had heard some whooping & hollering, but couldn't see what was going on. Once we made it to Pillar Falls, we explored on foot around the area with a couple of locals. He pointed out how we couldn't cross to continue up the river to Shoshone Falls since the water was so high. While we were bummed, we enjoyed talking with them and admiring the wonderfully powerful water. After a while, we got back in our kayak and headed down river. What a fabulous way to spend a few hours in Twin Falls!

Idaho power releasing over 78,000 rainbow trout at popular Idaho fishing spots
Idaho Power is releasing over 78,000 rainbow trout into Idaho’s Snake River in October.
Anglers nabbing any of the tagged fish will also have a chance to enter a $1,000 drawing.
This week, 70,000 rainbow trout were dropped into Snake River locations near Twin Falls and Mountain Home.
FULL STORY:
The majority of the fish - 52,000 trout - went into the C.J. Strike Reservoir south of Mountain Home. The releases were split between the Cottonwood Park boat launch and the Jack’s Creek Sportsman’s Access.
There were 4,000 fish released into Centennial Waterfront Park in Twin Falls.
And at the Lower Salmon Falls Reservoir, 15,000 fish were released at the Bell Rapids boat ramp.
The American Falls Reservoir will get an additional 8,000 later this month.
The fish, an average 10 to 12 inches when released, are raised in Hagerman Valley. Some of the fish have metal jaw tags. Anglers can report tagged fish, recording the tag number, date, reward value and approximate location caught, at 1 (800) 388-6011. Anyone who calls will be entered in a $1,000 drawing.
Idaho Power is required to enhance recreation as a stipulation for its federal license to operate hydroelectric facilities on the Snake River.

Visit Ritter Island in Thousand Springs State Park near Wendell, Idaho
Ritter Island is a neat place to visit all year round. It has hiking trails, natural springs, canoeing, kayaking, SUP, fishing and history. You can visit for a day or stay in Hagerman overnight. Very family friendly and kid friendly. We highly recommend it!
Thousand Springs State Park/Ritter Island, Hagerman Idaho.
Rode the Harley over to the park. Ritter Island was closed so we weren't able to check out the old house up close, so we hiked a short distance to check out the falls. It was a hot day and the mist was very refreshing. Saw a pair of ducks with their ducklings. It was a really nice day.
