Black Hawk and Central City - CASINO MECCA - FULL VIDEO TOUR (Colorado)
We found a hidden casino mecca in Colorado! All of the casinos are kinda grouped into this one small town where almost every building is a casino! You can get around $10 freeplay + $10 food credit from this town! Black Hawk and Central City are right beside each other and both are casino towns. Very strange and interesting place to see!
The twin towns of Central City and Black Hawk in Clear Creek Canyon west of Denver are so close, it's hard sometimes to tell where one begins and the other ends. They do have two other things in common, though. They both have revived the history of the area and are known today for limited-stakes gambling.
This current-day clamor for cash echoes long-ago Colorado's Gold Rush, which started here in 1859. Because of its newfound riches, Central City nearly became the state capital. It had more culture than Denver, and all that gold besides. Several opera houses sprung up by the early 1860s and the most enduring, the Central City Opera House, still holds performances today, including a summer opera festival.
The town also boasted gaming halls, saloons and brothels, as did most of the mining towns. The annual Madam Lou Bunch Day each summer honors the memory of the town's most famous madame and gives everyone a chance to kick up their heels.
Black Hawk and Central City sport several gaming venues, from intimate parlors to enticing resorts. Visitors tempt Lady Luck 24 hours a day at $100-limit blackjack, craps, roulette and poker tables, as well as slot and video machines at more than 20 casinos.
The town sits along the Peak to Peak Highway, a scenic byway that tours popular Front Range towns like Estes Park and Nederland. Outdoor enthusiasts can also venture into nearby Golden Gate Canyon State Park for the 12 hiking and biking trails, campsites and the views from Panorama Point Scenic Overlook.

No matter what part of the country you are coming from you are going to love NASSAM 2018 in Colorado – home to the highest paved road in the US; a place where gold miners made and lost fortunes in the 1870’s; a sports car driver’s paradise; a place so beautiful that it prompted Katherine Lee Bates to compose America the Beautiful!
We’ve chosen the beautiful Ameristar Hotel, Casino and Spa in Blackhawk Colorado, an historic mountain mining town, founded in 1859 for our 2018 NASSAM location.
Stay in for the night and dine at several exquisite restaurants in the resort, play your favorite games, or walk the “strip” to explore the once feisty mining town. Table games include Blackjack and Poker, Roulette and craps, or take a turn at the slot machines.
Take a walk through Blackhawk or ride the free shuttle a mile southwest to Central City and visit the historic Central City Opera House or the Gilpin County Museum and learn about mining life in the 1870’s gold rush.
The Ameristar is the perfect daily starting point for classic Colorado cruises. Rocky Mountain National Park. The wine country at Palisade. Five fabulous car museums are an easy drive from the hotel. The Colorado Railroad Museum with its rich history of the narrow-gauge trains of the Rocky Mountains is less than an hour away. You can ride the famous Georgetown loop steam railroad and walk deep into a hard rock gold mine before lunch.
Want to explore on your own? Grab a map or ask one of the local Kappa drivers. Then, hit the road for beautiful scenery or keep your eye closer to the road on some of the twistiest mountain roads you will find this side of the Mississippi. Not to mention the many microbreweries in the Colorado mountains!
Head south and drive up Pikes Peak and stand where Katherine Lee Bates stood. On the way back, stop into the Air Force Academy and take a walk inside one of the most beautiful and famous chapels in the world.
Or head west along I-70 to Grand Junction. Enjoy the banana belt of the west where wine tasting and great dining is just a couple of hours away. Extend your vacation and continue west into Moab Utah where you can visit the Arch's National Monument and stop into town for a great bite to eat, or head for Durango and drive over the iconic Million Dollar Highway.
North of Blackhawk, more scenic driving and wildlife can be found along Trail Ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park. You will see elk, deer and if you're lucky, you may even come across a moose. From the top of Trail Ridge, drop into Estes Park and visit the famous Stanley Hotel and any number of micro brews throughout the town.
There is so much to do during your stay at NASSAM 2018 including talking with vendors about your car or learn how to detail and get that professional shine.

22. SOUNDBITE: (English): Peter Gelb, General Manager of the New York Metropolitan Opera:
The excitement of singing, not only to the audience in this, which is probably the largest opera house in the world, it's 3800 seats, but to know that that audience has been amplified by 100,000 people sitting in movie theatres, makes it all the more thrilling for the artists who perform and many of them have said to me that this makes them more excited and as is true in sports and in the arts, when the stakes are highest, the greatest performers perform the best.
23. Pan from street in downtown Manhattan to movie theatre
24. Pan inside of full theatre to movie screen showing Macbeth image
25. SOUNDBITE: (English): Craig Chesler, Audience Member
I think there's something very intimidating and elitist about going to the actual opera, so you put it into everybody goes to the movies and it's a much more cosy place. You can sit back, have your popcorn, which you can't do at the Metropolitan Opera house. It doesn't surprise me at all there selling a lot of seats.
26. Pull out people sitting in full theatre
27. Mid shot movie screen, showing part of performance from Macbeth opera
28. Push in male opera singer, performing in Macbeth
29. Tilt down orchestra performing

31. SOUNDBITE: (English): Mary Jo Heath, Senior Producer for Met series:
It's a wonderful thing that if you can't come to the Met, the Met can come to you. And people are gathered today in movie theatres all over this country and all over the world to see the Metropolitan Opera broadcast live, that's what makes it so cool to me.
32. Pull out from conductor inside the Met, to wide of finale of Macbeth
33. Wide pan audience at the Met applauding
34. Pull out cast of Macbeth taking bow
35. Pan from audience applauding inside movie theatre to screen showing credits
36. SOUNDBITE: (English): Joan Bloom, Audience Member
We can't afford a front row seat when we go and this time we felt as if we had one, so that was really the main difference. Love it, we loved it and it was a fabulous cast and it felt as if we were sitting in the front row at the Met and that's what was so spectacular.
37. Pull out exterior of the Metropolitan Opera house at night

COLORADO - USA Travel Guide | Around The World
Colorado is a state of the United States encompassing most of the southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. It is the 8th largest geographically and 21st most populous U.S. state. The estimated population of Colorado was 5,540,545 on July 1, 2016, an increase of 10.17% since the 2010 United States Census.
The state was named for the Colorado River, which Spanish travelers named the Río Colorado for the ruddy silt the river carried from the mountains. The Territory of Colorado was organized on February 28, 1861, and on August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed Proclamation 230 admitting Colorado to the Union as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the Centennial State because it became a state a century after the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Colorado is bordered by Wyoming to the north, Nebraska to the northeast, Kansas to the east, Oklahoma to the southeast, New Mexico to the south, Utah to the west, and touches Arizona to the southwest at the Four Corners. Colorado is noted for its vivid landscape of mountains, forests, high plains, mesas, canyons, plateaus, rivers, and desert lands. Colorado is considered part of the western or southwestern United States, and one of the Mountain States.
Denver is the capital and most populous city of Colorado. Residents of the state are known as Coloradans, although the term Coloradoan has been used archaically and lives on in the title of the Fort Collins Coloradoan newspaper.
There is no universally agreed-upon breakdown of regions in Colorado. You'll often hear natives speak of a very simple structure comprised of the Eastern Slope (meaning everything east of the crest of the Rockies), or the Western Slope (everything west of the range crest), and anomalous Denver or the valley. The breakdown below is a bit more complex, partly for reasons of style and partly because the simple east/west/Denver formulation lumps areas together that are really very disparate. It's also roughly what's used by the Colorado Department of Tourism. If you are confused by some of the boundaries, simply consult a map of Colorado counties, as many of the regions follow county lines.
Denver Area :
Most populous part of the state, with the large metro capital-city of Denver and its many suburbs
Eastern Plains :
The least populated mostly prarie eastern half of the state, western agricultural country, scattered areas of buttes and canyons
Front Range :
Follows the northern part of the Rockies, including Boulder and such well-known attractions as Rocky Mountain National Park
Northwestern Colorado :
Spectacular canyon-and-mesa country reminiscent of neighboring Utah
South Central Colorado :
the high country in the southern part of the Rockies, home to many ski resorts, including the towering San Juan Mountains, (American Alps) with a broad, pleasant valley between them
Southwestern Colorado :
There is a special mystique about the southwest region of Colorado. It can be felt among ancient Anasazi Indian cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park and in the quiet of rugged mining ghost towns high in the San Juan Mountains. From the sheer depths of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to the exhilarating vistas from Grand Mesa, world's largest flattop mountain, the region is rich in western history, Victorian architecture and Native American cultures.
Cities :
Denver - the vibrant Mile-High City, capital of the state.
Blackhawk - Small city west of Denver known for its Opera House and casinos.
Boulder - a colorful college town in the foothills of the Rockies not far from Denver, but a world unto its own.
Cañon City - Home of The Canon City Queen Anne Tea House, the Royal Gorge, and Supermax Prison.
Central City - Small city west of Denver known for its Opera House and casinos.
Colorado Springs - Colorado's second-largest city, with many natural attractions such as Pike's Peak and the Garden of the Gods not far away.

Fort Collins - historic town which has become a hip university city.
Golden - historic town in the foothills known for multiple breweries including Coors and Golden City. Also home to Colorado School of Mines.
Grand Junction - hub city of the northwestern region, gateway to Colorado's Wine Country and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Inside the REAL Casa Bonita from South Park
One of the most beloved episodes of South Park involves Cartman kidnapping his classmate Butters in order to nab his spot at a birthday party taking place at a Mexican restaurant called Casa Bonita. The restaurant in question has a haunted cave, mariachi bands, sopapillas, and cliff divers, you may think that it would only exist in a cartoon.
But don't be fooled: Casa Bonita is a real restaurant in Denver, Colorado, and all of the aspects of the restaurant included in that episode are real. (They actually left a lot of stuff out.) We enlisted the help of Mike Mason, the general manager who has worked there for nearly 40 years, to give us a tour of the 52,000-square-foot restaurant and fill us in on its long history. By the end of our visit, you'll understand why the place is known as The Most Exciting Restaurant in the World.

Colorado Experience: Speer & the City
The turn of the 20th century sparked a massive migration to American cities, leading to an increase in pollution, crime and disease. Inspired by the beautiful modern urban aesthetic displayed in Chicago's World Fair in 1893, a City Beautiful Movement began to spread throughout the country. Denver's Mayor, Robert Speer, sought to beautify the city's buildings, parks and community areas while simultaneously constructing a controversial legacy.

Colorado Experience: The Tabors

Aspen's Great Train Race
The race to fame and fortune in Aspen began not in the 1960s but shortly after the townsite of Aspen was discovered in 1879. First called Ute City, Aspen soon gained the reputation as a town on the rise and with it came prospectors hoping to find their fortunes in the mountains above town. But Aspen's early success could not happen with key components--one of which being a railroad. What Aspen got was not one railroad but two, competing to see which would be the first to reach this burgeoning silver town on the Western Slope of the Continenal Divide. Join us for a brief history of the Great Train Race--Aspen-style.
