BE SURE TO WATCH MY URBEX VIDEO HERE TOO:
This is a freight elevator in a once thriving shopping mall, now sad dying. It's a Westinghouse with EPCO Circleline Peelle doors. This 1's by the management office on the upper level, the fmr. Kaufmann's/Macy's.

Westinghouse Freight Elevator #7 - Century III Mall - West Mifflin, PA
NOTE THIS WAS DONE WITH PERMISSION DUE TO MY GIRLFRIENDS MOTHER WORKING AT ONE OF THE STORES HER: This is a very nice elevator my girlfriend was to chicken to ride with me she doesn't really like elevators. I filmed a Few others here in the mall but they are basic Freight Elevator for a shopping center nothing special
Vintage Westinghouse elevator - JCPenney - Century III Mall - West Mifflin, PA - W/ Donovan
Recorded 03/17/2018 - visit his channel here:
Normally I don't film mall elevators, but Sat, 03/17/18, St. Patrick's Day, I had the opportunity to meet-up with Fans and Elevators with Donovan. We had a great time filming mostly all the elevators we could find at this once thriving mall (now dead). Be sure to stay tuned for the freight elevators here, as the rest of the elevators we filmed here were those!
BE SURE TO WATCH MY URBEX VIDEO HERE TOO:
Anyways, this is riding the elevator in the last remaining store in this mall. But this is just your standard Westinghouse elevator. Most of the button caps are now missing, and the left door inside's missing its wooden-paneling. And also the motor's been replaced. What's rather interesting is that the escalators are Montgomery, but this is a Westinghouse. I'm guessing this was installed under the mall's contract, but the escalators were installed under JCPenney's. This has been filmed many times by multiple users.

Century III Mall: Dead Mall $peedrun [29:40!]{MLG}
Century III Mall is an ailing, enclosed shopping mall located in the southern Pittsburgh suburb of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. It is the fourth largest shopping mall in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Opened in 1979, and remodeled in 1997, the three-level mall contains 1,290,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of retail space and approximately 25 stores.
In its prime, Century III Mall once boasted over 200 stores, services and eateries, which at the time was the largest enclosed shopping center in the Pittsburgh area by store count. Presently, the mall's occupancy rate is 10%. The mall's fortunes began to reverse by 1999; competition in the form of the Waterfront shopping center opened in nearby Homestead, which has expanded over the years. South Hills Village, located about five miles to the west in Bethel Park, also underwent a major renovation, incorporating a large food court among its amenities. Other factors, such as the worsening economy following the September 11, 2001 attacks and retailer bankruptcies as a result, also led to increasing vacancies. In 1999, the mall lost its first anchor tenant when Federated Department Stores closed the Lazarus store due to under-performing sales.
As early as 2003, Century III Mall was about 20% vacant, and as of 2006, it was 30% vacant. Today, the mall is roughly 90% vacant with approximately half of the remaining tenants being composed of independent merchants. Specialty stores such as AEO, Aeropostale, PacSun, Charlotte Russe, Gloria Jeans, Gymboree, The Children's Place, Gap, Regis, Radio Shack, Payless Shoe Source, Journeys Kids, Vitamin World, KB Toys, Dollar Tree, Express, Steve and Barry's, New York and Company, Ritz Camera, have closed or moved to nearby centers. The once-sprawling food court, previously home to over 20 eateries, is now abandoned after the last remaining restaurant, Italian Village Pizza, closed on July 1, 2017. Ruby Tuesday, a longtime dining establishment, also closed down in December 2008. In 2010, La Hacienda opened in the former Ruby Tuesday space, but it would also close and was eventually replaced with Old Mexico Restaurant in 2015. Old Mexico is expected to close by late summer 2017, leaving the mall with just one food tenant, Auntie Anne's. Most of the parking deck, including parking beneath the structure, is permanently barricaded and blocked off to the general public.
On May 13, 2013, Century III Mall was purchased by Las Vegas-based Moonbeam Capital Investments LLC, a real estate investment trust which operates other shopping centers across the United States. Moonbeam's redevelopment plans for the mall would've included a partial demolition of the complex and turning the enclosed mall portion inside out, although nothing has ever materialized. As of mid-summer 2017, only 25 stores, two restaurants and one kiosk remains, including anchors J.C. Penney and Dick's Sporting Goods. - thanks, wikipedia

Century 3 Mall in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania CLOSING / Ben Plikerds Minute
Century 3 Mall has been going out of business for many years. This mall has three floors and now the top floor is completely closed. The ceiling has water damage and we counted only about 6 or 7 remaining stores in the mall. I documented this video showing the remainder of the mall still open. It is one of the largest malls I have seen close. Urban exploring at it's best when this place closes.

GORGEOUS Westinghouse/Schindler Elevator at Carnegie Museum of Natural History Pittsburgh, pa w/TJ
This is the elevator at the Carnegie Museum Of Natural History in the grand staircase. There is another elevator just like this across the hall, but its just like this one so I didnt film it.
Although its been modernized, the elevators are just BEAUTIFUL inside and out, original cab designs and original doors, with art deco designs and patterns. The motors appear to possibly be original as well. This elevator at one time was manually operated and it was installed in 1908. Not sure if it had been modernized after that, but its most recent modernization was in the 1990s with innovation, the floor indicator might look a bit familiar as well, Schindler MT style. Im glad to see something other than schindler MT buttons though.
