Downtown is the central business district of Seattle, Washington. It is fairly compact compared with other city centers on the West Coast of the United States because of its geographical situation. It is hemmed in on the north and east by hills, on the west by Elliott Bay, and on the south by reclaimed land that was once tidal flats. It is bounded on the north by Denny Way, beyond which are Lower Queen Anne (sometimes known as Uptown), Seattle Center, and South Lake Union; on the east by Broadway Avenue, beyond which is Capitol Hill to the northeast and the Central District to the east; on the south by Dearborn Avenue, beyond which is Sodo; and on the west by Elliott Bay, which is part of Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean). Belltown, Denny Triangle, the retail district, the West Edge, the financial district, the government district, Pioneer Square, Chinatown, Japantown, Little Saigon, and the western flank of First Hill west of Broadway consist of downtown Seattle's chief neighbourhoods. Near the center of downtown is the Metropolitan Tract, owned by the University of Washington, the location of the university's pre-1895 campus. Downtown is Seattle's finance hub, its commercial maritime hub, its centre of nightlife, and its centre of shopping. (The downtown shopping mall Westlake Center is connected to Seattle Center by way of a monorail). The area is also home to the landmark Pike Place Market, the oldest continually-operating farmer's market in the United States and the core of activity in the area.

CenturyLink Field is a multi-purpose stadium located in Seattle, Washington, United States. It is the home field for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) and Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). Originally called Seahawks Stadium, it became Qwest Field in June 2004, when telecommunications carrier Qwest acquired the naming rights. It received its current name in June 2011 after Qwest's acquisition by CenturyLink. It is a modern facility with views of the Downtown Seattle skyline and can seat 69,000 people. The complex also includes the Event Center with the Washington Music Theater (WaMu Theater), a parking garage, and a public plaza. The venue hosts concerts, trade shows, and consumer shows along with sporting events. Located within a mile (1.6 km) of Downtown Seattle, the stadium is accessible by multiple freeways and forms of mass transit.
The stadium was built between 2000 and 2002 on the site of the Kingdome after voters approved funding for the construction in a statewide election held in June 1997. This vote created the Washington State Public Stadium Authority to oversee public ownership of the venue. The owner of the Seahawks, Paul Allen, formed First & Goal Inc. to develop and operate the new facilities. Allen was closely involved in the design process and emphasized the importance of an open-air venue with an intimate atmosphere.
The crowd is notoriously loud during Seahawks games. It has twice held the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium, first at 136.6 decibels in 2013, followed by a measurement of 137.6 decibels in 2014. The noise has contributed to the team's home field advantage with an increase in false start (movement by an offensive player prior to the play) and delay of game (failure of the offense to snap the ball prior to the play clock expiring) penalties against visiting teams.The stadium was the first in the NFL to implement a FieldTurf artificial field. Numerous college and high school American football games have also been played at the stadium.
CenturyLink Field is also designed for soccer. The first sporting event held included a United Soccer Leagues (USL) Seattle Sounders match. The USL team began using the stadium regularly for home games in 2003. The MLS expansion team Seattle Sounders FC, began its inaugural season in 2009 at the stadium. CenturyLink Field was the site of the MLS Cup in 2009. The venue also hosted the 2010 and 2011 tournament finals for the U.S. Open Cup. Sounders FC won both times and new attendance records were set each year it was hosted at CenturyLink Field. In August 2013, the Sounders broke a new home field attendance record when 67,385 fans turned out to watch them play the Portland Timbers.

Seattle Boat Show At CenturyLink Field & South Lake Union - Things To Do In Seattle Washington
The Seattle Boat Show is billed as the largest Boat Show on the West Coast and it is one of the best Boating events in the Northwest. Come to the Boat Show to board everything from motor boats and Cruisers to Yachts and Sailboats in the water. The indoor convention center at Centurylink field features a wide variety of motor boats, kayaks, day cruisers, and boating accessories.
The Boat Show operates shuttle buses between the convention center and Lake Union. Information is subject to change so you may need to find out if there is a nominal fee when you attend the show. The Seattle Boat Show is a great place to kick the tires on a new boat if you are looking to upgrade or just to enjoy a day out with the family.
The Amtrak Cascades train runs between Portland and Vancouver providing an easy way to get to the Seattle Boat show which is located directly next to the Amtrak Cascades train station.

Seattle: Sound Transit: Central Link Light Rail: Stadium - University of Washington
A journey right through the heart of Downtown Seattle on Sound Transit's Central Link light rail line, beginning at Stadium station, next to Safeco and CentruryLink Fields, and ending at the northern terminal of the line, University of Washington.
Even at 50 mph through underground portions, the ride on Link remains incredibly smooth. It's a stark contrast to how bumpy and rough BART feels.
Link Light Rail, operated by Sound Transit, is one of the newest light rail projects in the United States. The current system includes two lines - the Tacoma Link and the Central Link - but Seattle is already building massive extensions that will take this relatively small transit system all throughout the GreaterSeattle Area.
The Central Link and Tacoma Link never share track or cross paths once; in fact, they are 30 miles apart.
The Tacoma Link runs mostly in and around Downtown Tacoma, with six stops spanning from the Tacoma Dome to the Theater District. It was the first streetcar line in the Greater Seattle Area to open in 63 years.
The Central Link, opened in 2009, is the main light rail line of Seattle and runs between the University of Washington and Angle Lake Station, with major stops at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport, Stadium (at Safeco Field and CenturyLink field) and Westlake, right in the heart of Downtown Seattle.
Considering how new Seattle's rail system is, it's not surprising it still serves a relatively small area of the region. Seattle is not about to stop building more track, however, and there are several ambitious extension plans coming in the next several years.
The first extension to hit the Central Link occurred five months after the line initially opened, in December 2009, when the line was extended from Tukwila to Sea/Tac Int'l Airport.
Nothing happened for seven more years until March of 2016, when the line was extended from its northern terminus at Westlake to University of Washington, with one additional stop at Capitol Hill. Six months later, in September, the line was extended one stop south to Angle Lake.
On November 8, 2016, voters passed Sound Transit 3 measure, which granted $53.8 billion dollars to be geared towards extending light rail by five times its total track length (in miles) today, as well as improved BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) and Sounder commuter rail service.
Seattle is planning on extending both of the current light rail lines, as well as building an entirely new light rail line to Bellevue.
On the Central Link, Sound is already building the extension of the line north of University of Washington to the busy Northgate Transit Center, with stops at University District and Roosevelt. This extension should be open by 2021.
By 2023, Sound wishes to continue further north, past Northgate, all the way to Lynnwood. This would make the total track mileage of the Central Link at 33 miles, with 23 stations.
But that's not all. Sound is currently planning to extend the Central Link from the current southern terminal, Angle Lake, to the cities of Des Moines and Kent by 2023. By 2030, the line could reach Federal Way Transit Center, near Tacoma, but this plan was dropped from the previously stated extension due to the Recession.
Heading east, Sound began construction of the East Linkin 2016. This extension will introduce a brand new line, the Blue Line (the other Central Link line is called the Red Line, even though no one in Seattle calls it that), to the Link light rail system.
The Blue Line will travel alongside the Red Line from Northgate to International District/Chinatown, where it will split off and begin heading east. It will then travel under Lake Washington, to Bellevue, and terminate at Redmond Technology Center, home of tech giant Microsoft. Later on, the line could be extended further east to Downtown Redmond.
Moving to the Tacoma Link, the extension north of Downtown Tacoma to the city's Stadium District and Hilltop is expected to open in 2022.
Seattle is one of many urban regions feeling a renaissance in rail-based transit options. In several years, Seattle's rail-based transportation could be the envy of the West Coast. We will have to wait and see.

Seattle's Lake Union Boat Museum - Downtown Seattle Washington
Seattle Washington's Lake Union Park and Historic Boat Warf are located at the south end of Lake Union at the edge of downtown Seattle. Each antique vessel has a unique claim to fame and its own story to discover.
The fireboat for instance is purported to be the second most powerful fireboat in the country. There is a wooden tug and an old steam powered passenger boat as well. Some of the boats are used by local Sea Scouts but you can board many of the vessels often times on weekends and during special events.

As Sounders FC prepares to return to action against the Montreal Impact on Saturday, March 31 at CenturyLink Field in a 7:00 p.m. PT kickoff, the team encourages fans to arrive early to take part in honoring the life and career of Thomas Webb, a longtime referee and member of the Washington soccer community.
Webb, originally born in England, emigrated to the United States in 1966 and wasted no time involving himself in growing the sport of soccer. He served as the president of Bellevue Soccer Club in 1969 and within a few years was serving as the president of Washington State Soccer Association, while also helping elevate Bellevue High School’s soccer program to full varsity designation and achieving his C & B Coaching and Referee licensing for NASL and ASL. Among his many appointments serving soccer in its burgeoning era in the United States, Webb also served as the vice president of the U.S. Soccer Federation and chairman of the U.S. Soccer Federation’s National Referees Committee.
Webb coached youth soccer for 15 years and served as a referee at the professional levels, including serving as an on-field official for the final NASL Sounders match at Memorial Stadium and the first match in the Kingdome.
In 1987, Webb was inducted into U.S. Soccer’s National Soccer Hall of Fame on the builder ballot, recognizing the impact he had in the soccer community in a non-playing role while having a major, sustained positive impact on American soccer. He was further honored by the Federation in 1995, when he was presented the Eddie Pearson Award, which is presented to an individual from the referee community who displays distinguished contributions to the U.S. Soccer Federation Referee Program and has been involved with the program for at least 20 years.
Webb is also a member of the Washington Youth Soccer Association Hall of Fame (2003) and in 2016 was named among the top 50 Washington State Soccer Citizens over the last 50 years.

My visit to Seattle was to take part to an event of 110 year Anniversary Japanese Immigrants of Fukuoka prefecture Japan which raised the grassroots there. Seattle is one the oldest Japanese Immigrants community in USA and world.
