How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )
How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )
For more information: covankessel.com
In this video we explain you how to use the Chao Phraya Express Boat. This is a really convenient transport to use in Bangkok to beat the traffic and it’s also a lot of fun. Use the river in Bangkok instead of the busy streets and beat the traffic.
There are 5 different colored boats you can take, but to not confuse you, we only recommend 2 of them. The orange boat and the blue boat.
We use the example to use the Orange Flag Boat from N13 to N3 Si Phraya to get to our office at Co van Kessel
This video is part of a web series about Bangkok and in this series we show you how to get around in Bangkok, Thailand.

Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.
Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.
Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.
Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.
What we do
Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.
We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.
Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

ENCHANTING MYSTICAL RIVER- CHAO PHRAYA RIVER. BANGKOK, THAILAND
The Chao Phraya is the major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the centre of the country. It flows through Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand. Like all urban rivers, the history of the Chao Phraya is intertwined with the city it flows through. The original site was chosen by early settlers because of its fertility and abundant fish. Later King Taksin, after the fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese, located his new capital here, on the western banks today known as Thonburi.

Bangkok, Thailand Travel Guide: Grand Palace, Chao Phraya River, Wat Pho Tour + AMAZING Thai Food
This is our city guide and a full-day tour of Bangkok during our Thailand Trip. Most of Bangkok's notable historical and cultural sites can be seen in a day or two. We partnered with Thai Tour Guide in a six-hour tour of the city that included the Grand Palace, a private long-boat ride on the Chao Phraya River, Wat Pho and a tasty Thai food lunch.
Our tour guide, Joy and a driver picked us up in a large van to transport us the different sites in a stress-free manner. First, we head to, The Grand Palace, the cities most famous landmark. It is a complex of buildings and has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. Most tourists come to see Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the famous 14th century Emerald Buddha. This is Thailand's most sacred site, and out of respect, men and women, must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. Young children are exempt from this rule.
After touring the Grand Palace, we head to the pier close by to take a long-tail boat cruise on the Chao Phraya River. Before boarding, our private boat we pick up delicious Thai ice tea, coffee, and some traditional Thai sweets. The ride from the long-tail boasts beautiful views of the Grand Palace and city skyline before heading to the traditional canals.
After the ride, we grab a quick lunch at the Krua Khun Kung at the Navy Club of Bangkok. Some of the highlights of the meal include a huge mango smoothie, Tom Yong Goong soup, and squid with salty egg.
We then make our way in the air-conditioned van to Wat Pho (Wat Po or The Temple of The Reclining Buddha), a Buddhist temple complex south of the Grand Palace. A must for any first-time visitor to Bangkok, it is famed for its giant reclining Buddha that measures 46 meters long and is completely covered in gold leaf.
The tour also included a visit to Bangkok's Flower Market, but by this time our two batteries were drained from the filming. The market is not be missed either and gives you a glimpse of the importance of flowers in Thai culture.
To learn more about Thai Tour Guide visit: We highly recommend Joy, who was not only extremely knowledgable but compassionate and accommodating to our special needs as a family with three young children.

CHAO PHRAYA RIVER CRUISE with DINNER & SHOW, Bangkok, January 2018
This video is Part 10 of our Eight Days New Year Holiday In Bangkok, Thailand, 2018. This video covers our trip with White Orchid River Cruise, Dinner & Show. This night cruise was really amazing. We're really enjoyed this trip, especially for the nice view of Bangkok at night and the live performances dance on the boat.
Dinner Cruise - Chao Phraya River, Bangkok, Thailand
The dinner cruise on Chayo Phraya river was a magical experience. Lasting around 3 hours, it's a must do activity if you're visiting Bangkok as a couple!
Starting from the pier at River City, Bangkok, which is a big shopping mall and starting point for all cruises on the Chao phraya river. It was not much fun trying to get in. The place is bustling with tourists trying to board various cruises and it's somewhat confusing. But once we pushed through and got inside, all was good.
The cruise had two decks, bottom one is air conditioned and top one is partly covered and other part is open air type. This cruise takes you through many important landmarks on the shores of the river including the Grand Palace structures, Wat Arun and the famous Raman II bridge. It is a much different mood watching these monuments at the night when it is all lit up by the side of the river.
Food was really the best part of the package. Lot of thai, international dishes were available. It felt good value for money. Various live music and entertainment was available as people munched through their dinner. Others took it to the open deck to take in the scenery.
Then finally the DJs took over the party and brought everyone to the floor. Lot of bollywood music was played to appease the Indian crowd, everyone went wild ????
