EP1 Eating London: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea
This was the afternoon tea at One Aldwych Hotel in London which is inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As it was around Christmas time this version had a festive twist which made it all the more fun!
The sandwiches were pretty average. The scones were good and the sweets were fun. Go for the novelty rather than a culinary experience.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stage show premieres in London
Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes has followed Skyfall with a sky's-the-limit return to the stage - a technically spectacular musical version of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
The Mendes-directed musical, based on Roald Dahl's much-loved - and twice film-adapted - children's book, got an enthusiastic reception from its opening-night audience Tuesday at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The show features new songs by Hairspray duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, along with extravagant sets and costumes by Mark Thompson designed to bring to life the magical confectionary factory run by the flamboyant yet secretive Willy Wonka.
Playwright David Greig has adapted Dahl's story of poor but imaginative Charlie Bucket, who finds a golden ticket that allows him a tour of Wonka's top-secret facility - alongside the far less wholesome children Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee and Veruca Salt.
Douglas Hodge, one of Britain's leading musical-theater performers, stars as a charming and unsettling Willy Wonka, while Nigel Planer, a former star of 1980s comedy The Young Ones, is the cast's other big name as Charlie's Grandpa Joe.
Tuesday's premiere was a red-carpet affair, attended by a host of British celebs as well as actresses Uma Thurman and Sarah Jessica Parker, who arrived with her husband Matthew Broderick and their son, James.
Director Sam Mendes revealed that he had wanted to direct the stage version of the book for decades but hadn't been given the rights until the last few years.

Meet Charlie and The Chocolate Factory The Musical's new Willy Wonka, Douglas Hodge
West End's Willy Wonka, Douglas Hodge has revealed that the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stage production is much closer to the book than other adaptations. Taking inspiration from Michael Jackson and David Bowie Mr Hodge said it is difficult to define his famous eccentric character, but did confirm Willy Wonka will be very superhuman, kind of dark and very mystical.
Directed by Sam Mendes, the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical will run at Theatre Royal Drury Lane until 31 May 2014. Report by James Sloan.

When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he's always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.
Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy® winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet), set and costume designs by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!; One Man, Two Guvnors) and choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot; Matilda).
A chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar Oompa-Loompas must be believed to be seen in this spectacular new musical that is choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.
This world premiere musical is produced by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Neal Street Productions and Kevin McCormick.
