TULSA, Okla.—The second Monday of October has been declared Native American. The day was a celebration of culture and accomplishments made and kept by the 40 different tribes that were represented in the parade and other festivities. It is the alternative to the observance Columbus Day in Indian Territory. MVTO!
Cherokee Nation breaks ground on new Health Facility
On February 17, 2017 the Cherokee Nation broke ground on a new 469,000- square-foot Health Facility in Tahlequah, Okla.

The Class of 2020 officially began their entry into medical school on Saturday, August 6th.
115 new students are enrolled at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Family and friends joined the students at Van Trease Performing Arts Center for Education at Tulsa Community College.
In addition to a welcome from President & Dean Kayse M. Shrum, D.O., the students heard from OSU/A&M Board of Regents Trudy Milner, D.O., Oklahoma Osteopathic Association President Gabriel M. Pittman, D.O., and OSU Center for Health Sciences Alumni Association Vice President John R. Miller, D.O.
Associate Dean for Enrollment Management Vivian M. Stevens, Ph.D., presented each student as Dr. Pitman and Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs William J. Pettit, D.O. assisted with the cloaking of students.
Dr. Pitman also led the students in the Oath of Commitment.

This shows a brief stretch of U.S. Hwy. 59 south in Oklahoma as it approaches the junction with U.S. Highway 412 in early May of 2017. This was during the time of very heavy rain that spring and later on our trip, along U.S. 60 near Springfield, MO, we actually saw the highway flooded.

More than 100,000 visitors are expected for the 63rd Cherokee National Holiday, which runs Labor Day weekend Sept. 4-6 in Tahlequah, Okla. The Holiday commemorates the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839 and is filled with a variety of entertainment, cultural and athletic events for all ages. Pasqua was born in Tulsa and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and his father is from California, Susanville Indian Rancheria.
Pasqua majored in Social Science from Stanford University.
Pasqua is the chair of Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley Board of Directors and Tennis Professional. Pasqua speaks about the non-profit corporation, Indian Health Center. This non-profit corporation provides health care and wellness services for relocated Native americans.
Pasqua mentions that their were only three Native american tennis professionals in United States. While Pasqua was a president of North American Indian Tennis Association. (500-700 members of the Native American Tennis players) Annually their is a National Tournament Championship and the Association have been trying to get into the United States Open (not successful to date).
The show provides much new information about the Indian Health Center.
