A Hot, Steamy Day On The Road To Paradise Feat. Great Western 90
On July 19, I once again took a journey to the Strasburg Railroad. This trip was slightly different however, as the point of it was to test the abilities of my new camcorder. It performed well and recorded some nice video of the famed Ex. Great Western 90 steaming down the line. Most of the footage came out well besides the shot of the train traveling Eastbound at Carpenters. That shot needed much adjusting and editing. Otherwise I am happy with the quality of the videos this camcorder takes and I am excited to use it for upcoming trips in the future.
90 was built in 1924 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Great Western Railroad. The locomotive worked hauling sugar beet trains in Colorado. In 1967 the Strasburg Rail Road purchased 90 to run in excursion service and has run on Strasburg's line ever since.
My tripod is breaking, no surprise as I got it for less than three dollars, so ignore the weird shifts during the video. A new one is in the mail, and will be used on the next trip that I take. Some of you may be wondering why I have been to Strasburg so much lately. This has been because of some recent family issues that have taken place in Lancaster, and Strasburg is relatively close to take a short visit to. Enjoy some more steam action on the “Road to Paradise”!
If you like what you saw why not subscribe? It helps me out and I appreciate it.
