Cherry Grove Fishing Pier - North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The Cherry Grove Pier is wooden structure extending 300 metres (985 feet) out into the Atlantic Ocean that was built in the 1950's. It was remodeled and lengthened in 1999 after being hit by hurricane Floyd (a very powerful Cape Verde-type hurricane that triggered the evacuation of 2.6 million coastal residents in five states).
