our vacation to the United States and we decided to take our kids to the Chicago land speedway there favorite place!!!!!!!!!!! they enjoyed it a lot! the camera really didn't make us sound British but we didn't go to the United States just because of that our vacation

Chicagoland Speedway, located in Joliet, Ill., is only 40 miles from the birthplace of automobile racing in America. The first automobile race between gasoline-powered vehicles ever held in the United States actually took place on Nov. 28, 1895, when six cars left Jackson Park in Chicago for a 54-mile race to Evanston, Ill., and back in the snow. Frank Duryea took just more than 10 hours, averaging 7.3 mph, to win the race and earn $2,000. Chicagoland Speedway has 18-degree banking in its turns. The 2,400-foot frontstretch has 11 degree banking and the backstretch, which runs 1,700 feet, is banked at 5 degrees. It takes NASCAR’s top drivers less than 30 seconds to speed around its 1.5 miles in qualifying trim – Jeff Gordon set a track record in qualifying for the 2004 Tropicana 400 at 28.886 seconds, an average speed of 186.942 mph.

Old fart at Chicagoland Speedway in Rusty Wallace Racing Experience
I try out the #20 Dollar General car at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL with Rusty Wallace Racing Experience. My fastest lap at the 1.5 mile tri oval was 48 seconds. I have driven cars on several tracks including my BMW 3 at Autobahn and Blackhawk farms, but this was the most exciting and fun of my 67 years on this earth!

Over an hour late, the last outbound Amtrak Lincoln Service train of the day, 307, arrives and departs at Joliet while an intermodal waits on the BNSF.

Mario Andretti Indy Car Driving Experience - Chicagoland Speedway July 2016 (Session 1)
This is my first session from the mario andretti driving experience in Joliet, IL at Chicagoland Speedway. I was able to take part in the double session which consists of two 8 minute sessions. The cars are rev limited to 5000 rpm which equates to 160 MPH. After a couple of laps being coached by one of the andretti spotters I was able to nearly max out the car at 158.63 MPH! Definitely an awesome experience and something any racing fan should try if they get the chance!
