Nearby, Valley Forge puts the American Revolution into context at the National Center for American Revolution and Gettysburg is an important historical shrine. Visit an artist’s studio in the woods where Wharton Esherick, an important American artist and sculptor worked with wood - the studio he built is now a museum for his creations. Take a ride down scenic back roads through Covered Bridges and past Painted Barns (“advertising barns”), which tell their own stories about early America. Pittsburgh, a city once known for pollution, has changed direction and is becoming one of the cleanest cities in America. Go inside their new convention center to see what makes a building ‘green.' Meet hundreds of rare, exotic birds at the National Aviary. Farming is a way of life and agriculture is still the most important industry in the state. Modern dairy farmers tend to hundreds of acres of crops with huge harvesting equipment while their Amish neighbors perform the same tasks the old fashioned way - using only horses and mules.

2011 Summer Vacation/Ep. 76: Road Trip Analysis
So, over 7K miles (11,500 km), lots and lots and lots of stops for gas, right? Therefore:
- For Canadians & International travelers that enjoy driving in America like I do: you will be asked for a ZIP Code (in CDA is called Postal Code) in order to pay by credit card at the pump, and if you don't have one (and of course you don't have a ZIP code, you are just LEGALLY visiting America, right?) you will have to do this extremely annoying and time-wasting thing: Step 1: leave the car at the pump and go inside the gas station, wait in line with all truck drivers and other drivers on vacation as well (summer is a very busy season, right?) just to give them your credit card and telling them that you are in America LEGALLY (cause 15+ MILLION illegals in America who, with a permanent mailing address, have no problem getting legally a credit card and getting gas at the pump like anybody else), they will look at you in a pretty weird way, some will already know the issue, some will not, also some of them will even ask you how much gas do you need (in gallons of course), so you leave the credit card with them and then go back to the pump where your car is, fill it up and then Step 2: go back inside, wait in line again with everybody else, just to tell them that you left the credit card with them, they will charge your credit card, sign the receipt and then get the hell outta there. Extremely frustrating especially for such long road trips, this stuff started I think in 2005, my first contact with the ZIP code requirement was somewhere down in Florida, nothing like this before but since then almost impossible to escape the ZIP code requirement. All major truck stops like the first 2 ones in the video, Love's as well, and all others, all require a ZIP code in order to be able to pay at the pump. Now, where you can find gas stations that do not require the ZIP code when you pay at the pump, small towns, country side, mom's & pap's corner store with a gas station, like the 3rd clip in the video, so in those places no ZIP code requirement, that shows this is not a law of any kind, to ask credit card users of their ZIP code. BTW, this ZIP code issue is for the gas stations only, nowhere else in the States, fast food places, restaurants, museums, motels, hotels, etc., you name it, you are asked to provide a ZIP code in order to get a burger, or to visit a museum, or to stay in a motel, etc.,, only at the MAJOR gas stations and truck stops.
- For Americans & International Travelers driving a car in CDA: no POSTAL code requirement when you use your credit card to pay for gas at the pump or anywhere else in CDA, or at least in Ontario & Quebec, nobody is asking you, local resident or somebody visiting CDA, about a postal code, so very easy to get gas in CDA.
So, one big difference btwn CDA & USA, why major gas stations and truck stops in the States have decided to require a valid ZIP code in order to pay by credit card at the pump, but no such thing, postal code requirement, in CDA, also why no ZIP code requirement at the small gas stations located in small towns, country side places in the States, anybody can weigh in on this particular issue.
- Everywhere I used my credit cards in the States, MasterCard, Visa, Amex, I was asked Debit or Credit, what the hell?, why they are asking me that when you clearly see the Visa or MC or Amex logo on the credit card, well, it took me a while to understand this issue, after talking with couple of ppl down there, asking some questions, etc., so: very hard to get a credit card (credit in general) in the States, millions of americans are in full debt, so no way a financial institution is gonna issue you a real credit card when you have bad credit, therefore the major financial institutions in the States have adapted to the new reality in the States issuing MC or Visa, maybe Amex as well, DEBIT cards, so Visa or MC DEBIT card, these are NOT credit cards, they are normal debit cards, you withdraw money right out of your bank account like any regular debit card anywhere in the world, CDA included. In CDA, there is no need for credit card companies, MC, VISA, AMEX, to issue their own debit cards, no personal credit problems in CDA, or very little maybe, therefore no MC, VISA, AMEX debit cards in CDA. So another big difference btwn USA & CDA.
- For Canadians: gas is way cheaper in the States than anywhere else in CDA, unfortunately (for truck drivers and ppl driving Diesel cars) Diesel is way more expensive in the States than CDA.
- Most of the US states have very low sales taxes compared with CDA or the rest of the world, EU included, NH, DE, MT and OR have zero sales tax, VA only 5%, FL about 7.25%, etc., the most taxed states are the very liberal ones, NYS and California on top of the list, where you will also find the most expensive gas as well.

The Creation of New York Now and Then: A Tribute to George Bradford Brainerd'
If you like this, I strongly suggest my most recent New York documentary: I spent a year creating the recent film.
As for the video above, New York Now and Then explores 28 before and after photos spanning 140 years, showing how the short film was made. New York Now and Then is all about remembering the photographer, but also is about entertaining the viewer with photos showing New York then and now, or as you may notice often they are now and then.
Be sure to also watch the short film:

Shillz Da Realz is an Original member of the Lo-Lifes a gang of shoplifting youth that terrorized high end department stores through out NYC and the Tri-State area in the 80s and 90s.
The Lo-Lifes primary choice of apparel was exclusive Polo by Ralph Lauren garments along with other notable 5th Avenue brands, as well as Ski Wear and and anything made with Goretex. The crew originated in 1988 when two different boosting clicks “Ralphies Kids” and U.S.A (United Shoplifters Association) from Brooklyn joined forces to create the Lo-Lifes. The word Lo is the shortened slang name for Polo. So in term to be a Lo-Life a true meant to live a life of Polo.

Running By Cab Units at Carthage Junction - Nashville & Eastern RR
A Tennessee Central Railway Museum excursion is running from Nashville to Carthage Junction and back on the Nashville and Eastern Railroad, an R.J. Corman Shortline.
At Carthage Junction it takes a little shuffling to get the engines on the west end of the train for the return to Nashville. Stopping short of the switch the museum's cab units (an E Unit and two F7B) uncouple from the train and pull onto the branch. The remaining locomotive, an NERR B40-8, pulls the train east beyond the switch. The cab units pull the train west, and another shuffle puts the GE into the branch for another run-by.
The Nashville & Eastern is the portion of the Tennessee Central taken over by L&N after the TC bankruptcy in 1968.
