Singapore China Square Central Closure !?
While visiting the popular toy stores and flea market at Singapore's China Square Central, we noticed a lack of activity and existing sellers giving heavy discounts to clear their stocks. Is the rumour true?

Sunday Flea Market @ China Square Central (Nov 26, 2017)
November 26th, 2017, was the last day of operation for the Sunday Flea Market at China Square Central, in Singapore! As the stalls move to Fook Hai Building in December (other shops will move to Havelock 2 by mid-December), here are a few snaps I'd taken of the weekend venue hobbyists and collectors of both toys and retro-goodies have visited for close to a decade ... it is indeed yet another End of an Era of shopping options in Singapore ... GOOD BYE CSC! We Will Miss Your Flea Market Sunday!

Guide on how to go to China Square Central

5 Best Night Markets in Singapore
5 Best Night Markets in Singapore
Chinatown Street Market
Running every day from 10:00 till 22:00 (but only really getting busy in the evening), Chinatown Street Market is one of the most popular of its type in Singapore, offering a range of fashion items, antiques, souvenirs and electronics. What we really love about this market, however, is the wealth of street food and cheap restaurants all crammed into the relatively small space. Also known as ‘Chinatown Food Street’, this outside hawker-style area is where you’ll find all the Singaporean classics such as stingray, satay, roast duck, chicken over rice, kway teow, dim sum and laksa, with most dishes going for around S$5-10. Find the market on Pagoda Street, Trengganu Street, Sago Lane, Smith Street and Temple Street near Chinatown MRT Station.
Bugis Street Market
This must-visit market is one of the biggest, cheapest and hottest places to come shopping in the whole of Singapore. Many of the little trinkets here such as souvenir key chains, postcards and stationary are available from as little as S$1, and there is a whole range of clothes on offer, too. Although not exactly Singapore’s most cutting-edge fashion hotspot, quality items for all tastes can be found if you look hard enough. A pair of jeans can set you back just S$10, shirts and t-shirts from S$5, sunglasses and hats from S$2 and shoes from S$15. To find it, look for the red-roofed entrance near Bugis MRT Station or just follow the crowds.
Tekka Centre
Little India’s Tekka Centre may not be the most glamorous place to do your shopping in Singapore, but it does offer a more authentic taste of Singapore’s market scene compared to other locations. The multi-purpose centre, located on the corner of Buffalo and Serangoon Road, doubles up as a wet market (fresh seafood and vegetables) on the ground floor, while you’ll find some clothing and hardware stores upstairs. There’s also plenty of hawker stalls spread across the complex; come here for the $8 Biryani sets and you won’t leave disappointed.
China Square Central Flea Market
Come to China Square any Saturday or Sunday to find this rather old-yet-quaint flea market, with numerous stalls and tables laid out both inside and outside the building complex. You could call this a flea market of sorts (even though most flea markets don’t have air conditioning), with the variety of items on sale including toys, retro comic books, antiques, artwork, vintage china items, old clocks, phones, and second hand books. The market takes up two floors and they really pack the stalls in. It’s fun and presents an interesting shopping alternative in Chinatown.
Little India Arcade
Difficult to miss with its bright orange façade shining bright on the already-colourful Serangoon Road, this complex presents a good collection of Indian and Arabian clothing, fabrics and home ware. Meander through the series of tight alleyways to uncover traditional dresses, dried herbs and spices, flamboyant accessories, colourful artwork, aromatic incense and sweet shops – all for discounted prices. To avoid the crowds, visit in the day; to avoid the heat, visit in the evening (a bit of a catch 22 we know).
