Cured Earth (Adobe)-New Mexico True Stories
You’ve heard the expression, ‘dumb as mud?’ Well, that’s not really how we think about our mud here in New Mexico.
Adobe is a defining feature of New Mexico’s unique architecture, and something visitors from around the world are drawn to discover and explore. Along with New Mexico's endless skies and stunning landscapes, adobe gives our state a look and feel that can’t be found anywhere else.

Northern New Mexico Ride, Part 2
Riding Kawasaki KLR 650 motorcycles through Jemez Mountains and the Carson National Forest into Colorado on a weekend camp/ride in September of 2013. We went through Jemez Mountains from Cuba on FR 126 and FR 103, on to Abiquiu on Hwy 96, then through the Carson Forest through El Rito and FR 44, then over Hwy 64 on FR 133 and FR 87 into Colorado. The video and pics don't show the rougher parts of the road which were mostly on the last half of 87 with mud and ruts from recent rain storms. Usually I just try to plow through those parts and never think to stop and get it on video. But I should!
I had to leave a lot of footage out due to length of the video, so for some roads we took there's no footage in this video. This video has more from our camp along the Chama River and the part going through the Jemez again from Abiquiu on FR 31, FR 27 and on to FR 144 all the way to Highway 126. In the 3 days we rode we never passed a single motorcycle while on dirt, but we did pass a lot of trucks pulling trailers/RVs. Where are all the ADV riders? I highly recommend you get out and ride this route!
