A short visit to the Swiss city of Chur, where i had some time to explore the area around the station before i was due to catch a train.

Every Monday I teach dance class in a city in Switzerland called Chur. Today I decided to Vlog my journey to the city, as it takes me about an hour and a half to get there from where I live in Zürich.

Das ITF an der HTW Chur bewirbt sich mit dem neuen Vertiefungsstudium eCommerce & Sales um den Milestone 2015. Diese Vertiefung mit 12 ECTS im abschliessenden dritten Studienjahr führt zu berufsqualifizierenden Kompetenzen in dem für den Tourismus erfolgsentscheidenden Bereich. Die Vorlesung beruht auf dem didaktischen Konstrukt einer vertieften theoretischen Ausbildung der Studierenden durch Fachlehrkräfte der HTW Chur und durch Fachleuten aus führenden eCommerce Unternehmen. Die erworbenen Kenntnisse werden im Rahmen der Ausbildung in einem Praxisprojekt mit Partnerunternehmen aus dem Tourismus gefestigt und erweitert. Die Praxisprojekte sind als studentische Beratungsprojekte ausgelegt, in deren Rahmen Teams – begleitet durch erfahrene Coaches – mit Tourismusunternehmen zusammenarbeiten. Konkret werden diese im Hinblick auf ihre digitalen Marketing- und Vertriebsinstrumente und Techniken analysiert. In einem umfassenden Bericht wird die Situation beschrieben, und es werden direkt umsetzbare Empfehlungen abgegeben.

We stayed 10 days in Chur. It was our base for trips in Switzerland. From here we went to St. Moritz Davos, Arosa, Thusis and the Viamala gorge

This is a great way to travel across the Alps of Switzerland into Italy. This trip is described as one of the worlds great train rides and, as it turns out, with some justification! April 2016 was a good time to go as there was still lots of snow but the towns and valleys were carpeted in green.

Chur is the capital of the Swiss canton of Graubünden and lies in the northern part of the canton. Chur is situated at the right shore of the Rhine River and is known as the oldest town of Switzerland.
Chur is situated at a height of 1,949 ft (594 m) above sea-level, on the right bank of the Plessur torrent, just as it issues from the Schanfigg valley, and about a mile above its junction with the Rhine, almost entirely surrounded by the Alps, overshadowed by the Mittenberg (east) and Pizokel (south), hills that guard the entrance to the deep-cut Schanfigg valley.

Christmas Market in Switzerland is very popular, most of the cities have their own Christmas Market. There are varieties of market stalls, from food stalls, dried meats, handmade regional products and homemade Christmas gifts. The most common and popular products to consume during this festivities are Mulled wine (or in German: Glühwine), Raclette and Cheese Fondue. All of those will keep you warm during this cold winter season.
Graubünden is the home Canton of my husband and we went there for the weekend. Since it is pre-Christmas season, we decided to visit the Christmas market in Chur.
I enjoyed strolling through the festively decorated old town in Chur, its so beautiful and there are varieties of things to discover.
