Orselina-Cardada-Cimetta, Switzerland - 23 Jun 2018
This was a Road Scholar trip to Switzerland. I take a funicular(not in the video) in Locarno up to the gondola station where I ride the gondola halfway up the mountain. Then I ride a chairlift up to the top, Cimetta. The chairlift faces sideways so get some nice views. Roam around at the top. Then back down.

Cimetta - Brione — Bike Trail Review Switzerland
This week we ride a trail from Cimetta to Brione in Ticino, Switzerland. Cimetta is located about 1600 m.a.s.l. and provides a spectacular view over the Lago Maggiore and the Ascona-Locarno Region. There are different trail trails that go down to Orselina. A Day Pass costs 48 CHF or 24 CHF if you have a Half Fare Card. I give the trail 2.5 Stars out of 5, because it's fun but nothing super special. The Trail is suited for pretty much any kind of rider.

Cardada Bike (Locarno)

Wow! - Cimetta, Locarno/Ascona, Switzerland | Paragliding | Ozone Alpina 3
Winter seems to slowly make way for spring. The first strong thermal cores of the year. Really wonderful conditions to get ready again for real air when winter has passed.
We had a great time at Cimetta near Locarno and Ascona, thermaling high over launch, top landing and having fun on the way down before landing on the landing strip of Ascona's old airport.
My wingovers start becoming a bit more solid, but after the trim check, the inside ear starts coming in on the highest point, but it feels more efficient witht the tip collapsing than with keeping brake on longer. Let me know if you have thoughts about it!

Locarno Cardada-Cimetta 23.02.2014

Locarno - Orselina -Cardada -Cimetta: a little Walk in Ticino
Sorry for the shaky video, I hold the Gopro directly in my hand...

We start in Locarno San Antonio and walk up to Orselina. Here we take the Cable Car to Cardada and walk the couple hundreds meter to Cimetta Chairlift. Than a short tour at the top of Cimetta. And finally down with the cable car. At last, walking from Orselina to Madonna del Sasso and back to Locarno...

The town of Locarno is located on the northeastern part of Maggia's delta; across the river lies the town Ascona on the southwestern part of the delta.
It is the 74th largest city in Switzerland by population and the third largest in the Ticino canton, after Lugano and Bellinzona.
The official language of Locarno is Italian.
The town is known for hosting the Locarno International Film Festival which takes place every year in August and involves open-air screenings at the main square, the Piazza Grande. It is also known for the Locarno Treaties, a series of European territorial agreements negotiated here in October 1925.
In January 2004, the Italian historian Marino Vigano speculated that Locarno's castle may have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
