Terrell Jacobs Lion and Tiger barn at the Paul Kelly Farm
Terrell Jacobs was known as the LION KING in the circus business with 40 lions and tigers in the steel arena. This was his training barn that he had built in 1939 on the west side of Peru, Indiana. It's starting to fall down as of May 2019. The Property was sold to the State of Indiana Dept. of Transportation right after we made this video. This is the last time anyone will ever see inside here again as the State is going to tear it down for road construction.

Book tickets at British ringmaster Norman Barrett has been inducted into the International Circus Hall of Fame, one of the circus world's highest honours.
The announcement was made at the Hall of Fame's annual Circus Greats awards dinner and induction ceremony in Peru, Indiana in the US on July 23.
Barrett, now 75 years old, said: I am honoured and delighted to receive this accolade both for myself and for British circus in general. I'm fortunate that I love what I do. I love every performance and never get bored because the audiences are always different.
The accolade comes a year after the Blackpool-based ringmaster was awarded an MBE.
Barrett first appeared in the ring at the age of 12 in Harry Cody's Circus, working with Cody as a clown. His career includes 25 years at Blackpool Tower Circus -- 17 of them with Charlie Cairoli -- six at Blackpool's Superdome and two with New York's Big Apple Circus. He has been ringmaster with Zippos Circus since 2001, where he also presents his signature budgerigar act.
The Hall of Fame was established in Sarasota in 1957 and moved to Peru in 1985. Inductees' circus achievements must be stellar, inspirational, unique and legendary.

Peru Indiana Circus City Days -- Street Fair
Every 3rd week in July Peru Indiana puts on a Amateur Circus. Peru has it's very own Permanent BIG TOP and also has a street fair with many booths and Carnival rides. This video shows some of the rides for the 2014 event. Included are the MIXER ION M2 and some kiddie rides including a really cool train. The rides are part of Drew Amusements out of Augusta Ga.

Big Top Circus train heading for Winter Servicing
Here is the Big Top Circus Train for it's first run as a complete train. This train was run without wagons and equipment for a test run of the cars themselves. The run was done on Dan Hayes HO Scale New York Central Layout in Greencastle Indiana in December 2016. As most Circus trains the show itself will home at a winter base to prepare for the next season's show. The train itself also requires servicing prior to the first show in the Spring. So here we are The Big Top Circus Train dead heading for winter servicing.
Not all the collection ran in this run. There are now 17 circus flats that are operable and with that I now have 43 circus wagons, 3 stock cars half a dozen coaches and equipment being readied for their first run. Just recently I ran across 4 Ringling Brothers Coaches to add to the collection and 2 were on this train. When my Circus is complete it will be the Winter Home of the Big Top Circus Winter Home. This is based on Peru, Indiana Winter Circus Home that was used by at least 4 Circuses over the years The Winter Home will include a large round Barn and support barns and the round Barn will include a single ring for practice and local shows. Peru Indiana still has a Circus Parade and the group there still does charity shows on the rode. The Peru Facility is also known for the Circus Hall of Fame to include two floors of Museum in one of the barns Several cars have come from a fellow NMRA (National Model Railroad Assn member) who has given up his model railroad work for a Nursing Home. I plan to keep all that in operation in remembrance of him. from Newman Atkinson
