WOW Travel Guide Welcome to Boston
Boston. Baseball. Baked Beans. Ben Affleck. Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States with a rich history that can be seen on every corner. Despite its old roots, it is a modern town, teaming with world-class food and drink in every neighborhood. We go deep into this red brick metropolis to discover some of the more off-the-wall attractions like the world's largest (and only?) stained glass globe, large enough that you can walk in it, a hidden library that houses a very unique book bound in human flesh, and a bookshop tucked away in a tiny alley where you can find some real treasures. Of course we hit up some breweries and baseball along the way, so come on and let's check out Bean Town together!
Ride Boston's New Connect Historic Boston Bike Trail
Protected bike lanes are becoming less rare in many U.S. cities and I got to ride a fine new one in the City of Boston. Called the Connect Historic Boston Bike Trail, it is the beginning segment - about two miles so far - of a longer loop that plans to circle the downtown area.
The idea was to connect historic Boston places via a safe bike route that not only commuters could use to get about, but also visitors or residents wanting to further explore the city.
The segment features a lot of good design practices. Where it intersects with driveways or parking lots the drivers are slowed by having to meet the bike lane which has been raised to the level of the sidewalk. It also features ample #freshkermit (that's green paint) in areas to highlight possible conflict areas between motorists and cyclists. Additionally, some intersections have been built with some protection. And some environmentally friendly bits as well: permeable pavement and a bioswale.
There's one section here tha'ts center running - which, yes, always has its critics - but in this case it makes much more sense to put riders away from crowded sidewalks at North Station/TD Garden. I'd much rather ride in the freedom of the center versus contending with pedestrians and cars. Just imagine this scenario averted.
Big thanks to the good transportation folks from the City of Boston who came out to meet me after work with little notice to take a one hour excursion with Streetfilms!
Quick tour of downtown Boston
These are a couple of the sites and sounds of downtown Boston. There are so many things to see and do you just have to plan out at least a couple of days to take in everything.

B-ROLL ALL DAY | Boston, Massachusetts
DAY THREE of my secret shoot in Boston we head out for a non-stop day of b-roll. If you aren't familiar with the term b-roll, that is the extra footage captured to enrich the story you're telling and to have greater flexibility when editing.
B-roll is everything! We shot for about three hours in the morning, had lunch and beers at Harpoon Brewery and then drove 1 hour south to the smallest state in America, Rhode Island.
While in Providence we also got a few hours of b-roll before heading for dinner and more beers at Union Station Brewery. I have heard very good things about this brewery so why not?

ATTRACTIONS IN BOSTON
Not sure what attractions in Boston to visit, when you only have limited time on your hands? We’re here to help you out with a bit of information about Boston’s top attractions!
Let’s continue with some of Boston’s best places to go and see. With more than 370 years of history, the city is home to many impressive landmarks. Most of the first time visitors take the Freedom trail Boston tour, to learn more about the history of the city and nation. The tour includes the State House, Faneuil Hall, the US constitution and Bunker Hill Monument. If you are passionate about the nation’s history, you should also visit the towns of Lexington and Concorde which were the grounds for some of the most famous battles in the revolution war. If you are short in time, you might like to check the Total Boston Experience which is a day tour that includes all the historical attractions in and out of the city.
TOP BOSTON ATTRACTIONS
Besides its history, the city is also home of many museums and attractions, like the Science museum, the Aquarium, Skywalk observatory, and Franklin Zoo. In order to stay on budget and to fit everything you want to do in your tight schedule, you should plan in advance what attractions and Boston museums you would like to visit. Or take advantage of the “Go Boston Card” or the Boston city pass! Both of the products will help you see more Boston attractions and pay much less. Check our special video guides and learn more about their great offer.
Finally let’s talk about leaving the city behind you… When visiting the city, there are several opportunities to explore the city in a different way. From sightseeing tours, ferries to Islands like Martha vineyard or Nantucket, or even a whale watching cruise. If you prefer your cruises on a smaller scale, visit the public garden and enjoy the Swan boats, the iconic attractions since 1877.

Boston, Faneuil Hall - U.S.A. & Canada ep7 - Travel video vlog calatorii tourism
Faneuil Hall, located near the waterfront and today's Government Center, in Boston, Massachusetts, has been a marketplace and a meeting hall since 1743. It was the site of several speeches by Samuel Adams, James Otis, and others encouraging independence from Great Britain. Now it is part of Boston National Historical Park and a well-known stop on the Freedom Trail. It is sometimes referred to as the Cradle of Liberty.
In 2008, Faneuil Hall was rated number 4 in America's 25 Most Visited Tourist Sites by Forbes Traveler.

Boston night. A time of thirst. Boston visited the famous beer in the bar. This is the same as the set of release to decorate the stage of the sitcom chieoseu '80s that were aired in the United States has become popular. Drama chieoseu 'is a sitcom a small bar' chieoseu in Boston in the background. Chieoseu very ordinary stories of everyday life, which led to a 'human touch' has won 26 Emmy Awards until fall 1983, the fourth consecutive year as the best picture of the Emmy Awards, including Comedy film. Is the power of the chieoseu sitcom? A sip of beer seems to change with moisture to thirsty horsepower. But the lover looks lovely view even encouraged me a glass of beer. The trip came to Boston in the couple married eight years in Kansas City. This is really a nice place. Boston People think it's a very friendly and nice people. We are thinking back to visit to see the city, a cool beer and a pleasant meeting with the couple is a bonus gift of travel. Boston night long.

#Boston, #Massachusetts #CruisePort
Boston, Massachusetts is one of the most popular #locations in the United States, offering many #historical_sights, #museums, #live_performances and #incredible_food. It’s not hard to understand why Boston is both a port of call and a departure port. It doesn’t matter if you are departing from Boston or visiting for the day, there are countless sightseeing activities you will want to take part in. Sports are a #HUGE deal in Boston, so consider yourself lucky if you get the opportunity to catch a #Bruins or #Celtics game at TD Bank Garden or a Red Sox game at the legendary Fenway Park. Sample some gourmet seafood, or more importantly, some REAL New England clam chowder at restaurants like the Union Oyster House or the Quincy Market.
There are too many breweries to name, and an unbelievable amount of pubs and bars with craft beers that you've never heard of, so you'll have to sample some yourself before embarking for your cruise from Boston.
Stroll along the Freedom Trail which is a home to 16 Revolutionary War sites.
Visit the restored Boston Tea Party ships and a museum located at Griffin’s Wharf.
Stop by America’s oldest college, Harvard University, and enjoy the learning about the history of this school.

Boston Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go
Everything YOU need to know before you travel to Boston Massachusetts in the USA. Boston is the hub of New England, in the Northeast of the United States. Visiting Boston is like a history class in person. Boston is the cradle of much of the US’s history including playing a significant role in the American Revolution, having the first public library in the US, and the first lighthouse. Boston is a city of Neighborhoods, with 23 distinct neighborhoods. Boston has lots of Parks -- public green space is 17 percent of the city. You are never more than a half mile from a park. Boston is very compact.. Downtown Boston is roughly 2 square miles. About 13% of Boston citizens commute by foot, giving it the highest percentage of pedestrian commuters in major cities of the United States.
2 - Top Attractions
Freedom trail
A red-brick path connecting the most famous sites. 2.5 miles long.
16 of Boston’s most historic sites including:
Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Paul Revere House and Old North Church.
North End
The end of the Freedom Trail, and home to Boston’s Little Italy district.
Make sure to get a cannoli from Mike’s Pastry or Modern Pastry.
Boston Common was declared America’s first public park in 1634
Right next to it is the Boston Public Garden, America’s first Botanic Garden
JFK Presidential Library
All about the life of the US’s 35th president… a bit of the beaten path, but worth it for history buffs.
Beacon Hill
Known as Boston’s most “beautiful” neighborhood
Known for its charming, narrow cobblestone streets, federal style row houses and gaslit streetlamps. It’s also considered to be one of Boston’s most desirable and expensive residential areas in the city
Fenway Park
Home to the Boston Red Sox, built in 1912, it’s the Oldest Major League Baseball Stadium still in use.
3 - Food
Quincy Market
great gathering spot and place for lunch, with over 35 stands offering a wide food selection.
Seafood
Scrod - Catch of the day
Chowders, Lobster Rolls
Italian Food
Dunkin Donuts started here.. And yes, there’s one on every corner.
Beer: Visit the Sam Adams Brewery opened in 1984. Tours are free.. And with free beer tasting!
There’s **NO HAPPY HOUR**
Boston has banned after work drink specials. Time-of-day deals are limited to food. So you’ll find cheap food options from 4pm-6pm, but not alcohol.
4 - Getting In
You’ll likely be flying in to Boston Logan International Airport, which is just a short 3 miles away from Boston. 40 airlines that serve Boston, and 3 hotels onsite
You can also take the Blue Line Subway, but you have to take the Massport shuttle bus to get to the Subway stop.
Bus: Silver Line SL1 will take you in to the city along the waterfront to South Station -- it’s free for passengers arriving at the airpor
5 - Getting Around
Getting around Boston is like navigating a maze
6 - When to go
Summer is peak tourist season (June-August)
But locals recommend Fall, September & October. The leaves are changing color, and the weather is much more pleasant.
Winter is cold! And long! With lots of snow! You’ve been warned!
Spring often has lots of rain.
Biggest Holidays are St Patrick’s Day and the Boston Marathon
Re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party every year on DECEMBER 16
7 - Language
English.. But the Boston accent is pretty thick, and there’s some interesting local slang
Not everyone has the Boston Accent… but you’ll definitely hear it
8 - Wicked Wifi
I mentioned Wifi means good… Wicked Wifi is the cities metropolitan wifi network. The SSID is “WickedFreeWifi”
9 - Hotels
Boston is old, and so are the hotels and AirBNBs. If you are expecting an elevator and A/C, call to check in advance.
10 - Universities
More than 20 colleges in Boston alone… and Harvard, and MIT which are technically not in Boston, but in Cambridge across the river.
140,000 college students call Boston home.
Makes for lots of cheap eats, and nightlife options.

Martha's Vineyard Massachusetts USA tour
Parking near the ferry in Falmouth, Massachusetts was $15 for the day. $20 round trip for the ferry. The van load was $225 for all of us and tip was additional for a 3 hour tour of all of the island. Ted Kennedy, Chappaquiddick Billy Joel's place, Oprah Winfrey's yacht, Norton Internet Security inventor's house, US President Ulysses S. Grant's haunts and house, the story of Barrack Obama wanting to sit drinking beer after beer costing taxpayers hundred of thousands in not millions for Secret Service and helicopter hovered for hours and traffic for all was blocked up around the July 4th holiday, the part of the island reclaimed by Native Americans, history of the island, and much more was part of the tour. Food and drinks were very reasonable, especially as you walk away from the car rental and ferry area.
I will consider going back and renting a Harley and touring the island that way next time.
More video and post on my blog, here:
The elite have their own little playground. The rich get richer. The rich don't want chains, corporate stores, fast food, GMO food, and other such filth inflicted on the general population. Food grown on the island is sold on the island in local grocery stores. Some resident spend more on a season's landscaping than the average American can save in a lifetime.
Heroin is a big problem on the island. According to the native who took us on the tour, heroin is the drug of choice. 100's of millions, if not billions of heroin and cocaine money is laundered with the big banks complete complicity. Bankers and global corporate operators don't go to jail, they get fines that are mere pennies to them.
The scenery is beautiful. The air was very nice. Soon, these type of towns will be off limits to the general public. The elite will still need service help, landscapers, and minions.
Walking Tours - Freedom Trail
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel ( Nick Regan, Maggie, and Kate took a walking tour along the famous Freedom Trail. Tours of Boston MA must include the Freedom Trail, a three-mile walking tour of Boston attractions and historical sites. The Freedom Trail winds along Boston Common, Paul Revere's House, the USS Constitution, Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church, the State House on Beacon Hill, and the Bunker Hill Monument. One of the highlights is the Granary Burial Ground, site of the graves of three signers of the Declaration of Independence, including John Hancock and Samuel Adams, and the victims of the Boston Massacre. Visitors to the Freedom Trail will also sea the Old South Meeting House, where the Boston Tea Party began in 1773. You can pick up the Freedom Trail's red brick path throughout the city and it's accessible from many hotels in Boston. The city of Boston was a favorite place for Cheap Family Travel and the Freedom Trail is Free!
