about kansas city downtown
Downtown Kansas City is the central business district (CBD) of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is between the Missouri River in the north, to 31st Street in the south; and from the Kansas–Missouri state line east to Bruce R. Watkins Drive as defined by the Downtown Council of Kansas City;[1] the 2010 Greater Downtown Area Plan formulated by the City of Kansas City defines the Greater Downtown Area to be the city limits of North Kansas City and Missouri to the north, the Kansas–Missouri state line to the west, 31st Street to the south and Woodland Avenue to the east.[2] However, the definition used by the Downtown Council is the most commonly accepted.
In March 2012, Downtown Kansas City was selected as one of America's Best downtowns by Forbes magazine for its rich culture in arts, numerous fountains, upscale shopping, and various local cuisine - most notably barbecue.
Demographics
According to the Downtown Council of Kansas City, as of 2013, the Downtown area has a population of 19,899 residents with 11,790 housing units and a median household income of $61,491. Also as of 2013, Downtown has 137 units under construction and 1,326 in the planning stages.
The United States Census in 2010 suggests Downtown has a population of 22,576, though this may include land outside the district boundaries defined by the Downtown Council of Kansas City.
In 2000, the population may have been as low as 10,000 people with 7,330 units.[citation needed] In 2005, Downtown Kansas City had a population density of approximately 5,617 inhabitants per square mile (2,169/km2) in its 3.0-square-mile (7.8 km2) area.[citation needed] According to Local Market reports, Downtown houses approximately 20,000,000 square feet (1,900,000 m2) of office space.[citation needed] However, the vacancy of this space is at about 15%.[citation needed] There are also about 12,800,000 square feet (1,190,000 m2) of Class A&B office space in Downtown,[citation needed] with a vacancy rate of 15.9%.[5] There are over 100,000 employees working in the Downtown area. Downtown has a total of 5,606 hotel rooms, accounting for 22.5% of the total amount of hotel rooms in the metropolitan area. The average occupancy of these rooms is about 56.5%. As of 2007, about 2,800,000 square feet (260,000 m2) of office space are under construction in Downtown Kansas City.[citation needed] Current investments into downtown redevelopment have exceeded $6 billion.

Worst places to live in Oklahoma City -
What's it like living in Kansas City? Well first off, there's a KC Kansas as well and it's hot and humid in the Summer, just like most of the mid-west. It's actually the largest city in Missouri, although the St Louis metropolitan area is actually slightly bigger. It's also, along with Omaha, Wichita, and other great plains suburbs, one of the cheapest and best cities to live in America. While it isn't the fastest growing city, a lot of people are moving to KCMO, and there is a cheap cost of living, so why shouldn't you live in Kansas City, MO.

The Most HIDDEN Underground Cities
Have you ever imagined a life without the sun? How could we possibly survive? Today we'll show you how with the most impressive underground cities!
1. GROWING UNDERGROUND, LONDON:
In this city located in an old war bunker in London, they managed to sustain a whole farm. This seems almost impossible, however they did it by using a hydroponic, vertical, pesticide-free system. Also, they use the space much more efficiently, saving 70% of the water used on it.
2. EARTHSCRAPER, MEXICO CITY:
As you had already imagined, this is the complete opposite building to a skyscrapers, as it goes down towards the Earth core. 65 stories to be precise. It has a pyramid-shaped design and an open central space where daylight can flood in to the depths of the earth.
3. THE LOWLINE, NEW YORK:
The Lowline is a project based on the success of the Highline, an abandoned elevated railway converted into a lush public space. The aim is to give an unused trolley terminal a makeover. It's expected to be opened by 2020. The natural light would be directed below ground using a system called remote skylights based on parabolic reflectors and optic fiber cables.
4. RÉSO, MONTREAL:
This is the largest subterranean complex in the world and has been in use since the 1960s. It's a way of hiding from the terrible cold temperatures they suffer. We can find multi-level shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and metro stations. All linked by tunnels.
5. UNDERGROUND CITY, HELSINKI:
This underground city includes more than 125 miles of tunnels filled with everything you would expect in an overground city, and the best thing is that they have plans to continue to expand the subterranean public spaces.
6. SUBTROPOLIS, KANSAS CITY:
This city occupies 1,100 acres of abandoned limestone mines since 1964. More than 1,600 people work in this naturally climate-controlled, rock-carved space every day. We can find subTropolis houses and everything from cave-aged cheese to car storage space, and an array of small businesses. Also it naturally maintains temperatures between 18 and 21 °C all year-round.
7. UNDERGROUND SCIENCE CITY, SINGAPORE:
In Singapore they've had a space problem for a long time. So they designed this Underground Science City for up to 4,200 scientists, researchers, and professionals in Research and Development facilities. But also, there are many restaurants and shopping malls.
9) Burlington, U.K.
This is a city built by the British Government in 1955 in case of a nuclear attack. A 35-acre network of hidden entrances, streets, canteens, and purpose-built rooms to house the Prime Minister, the entire British government and the Royal Family. It even had a telephone switchboard and a hospital inside. However it's been closed off since 1991.
10) Derinkuyu, Turkey
This is an ancient multi-level underground city extending to a depth of approximately 60 metres. It is large enough to have sheltered as many as 20,000 people together with their livestock and food stores. This city could be closed from the inside with huge stone doors and had ventilation and running water.
Are you ready to live underground?

'68: The Kansas City Race Riots Then and Now | Town Hall
This town hall conversation and film features historians, political and law enforcement leaders along with eyewitnesses to the tumultuous events playing out on Kansas City streets 50 years ago.
Frustrated with the slow pace of civil rights reforms and outraged at the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., protest turned to violence in Kansas City on April 9, 1968. The riots shocked many residents of the city, which had long been known for its lack of racial unrest despite its deep, underlying racial tensions.

KEYS IN IGNITION and RUNNING Edina City Hall Audit
December 6th 2019 Edina City Hall. The camera was so shaky because this was my first City Hall audit so I had a bit of the jitters. But now the gimbal and some confidence has fixed most of that. Cute gang blue line gang sweaters here at the police department, also they leave their cars started with the keys in them. Random citizen calling me disrespectful after disrespecting me.
The implication of transparency is that all of an organization’s actions should be scrupulous enough to bear public scrutiny. Increasingly, the nature of social media and other communications means that even actions intended to be secret may be brought into the public's awareness, despite an organization's best efforts to keep them hidden.
