Göteborgs stadsmuseum (explore Gothenburg)|
Visited the city museum today and saw a lot of interesting things but one thingstand out and it was the two hundred year old camera and i also met an happy Viking today. A good day and now the summers starts for real and we have planned to visit many events so look for us this summer. Best regards Crazywhales

9. The Garden Society (Trädgårdsföreningen) - A most beautiful place and gem, a calm haven of fine esthetics for those who wish to get away from the city
10. Natural History Museum - If you visit Gothenburg city, you should immediately come to this place. Very cozy atmosphere.
11. City Museum (Goteborgs Stadsmuseum) - A surprisingly interesting museum with rich medieval treasures.

Today is nice a weather so my husband and I decided to visit Göteborg! ???? We ended up looking for the well known Museum in Göteborg Naturhistoriska Museet with huge collections of preserved animals, insects & reptiles, plus geology exhibits. Come join us explore this place :)

Gothenburg, Världskulturmuseet and Stadsmuseum - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
We start with a visit to the Museum of World Culture (Världskulturmuseet). The museum is located right next to the Liseberg Amusement Park in an architecturally interesting building, designed by the London architects Cécile Brisac and Edgar Gonzales. It was opened in 2004.
In contrast to the classical museums with permanent exhibitions and exhibits behind glass cases, the state-owned Museum of Wold Culture focuses on creativity and modern thinking. Questions about global issues and lifestyles are raised in unconventional and sometimes provocatively way.
With this approach, one would like to attract to a young audience. Success proves the concept right because around 60 percent of visitors are under 30 years old. 2009, the museum was awarded the Museum of the Year, the highest award that a Swedish museum can obtain.
The Museum of World Culture offers a changing program with interesting exhibits from around the world, that involves all senses. The goal is to raise mutual understanding between cultures, to overcome prejudices and to better understand foreign cultures.
In the current photo exhibition Afghan Tales, 22 contemporary Afghan photographers show a complex picture of Afghanistan in 75 excellent photographs.
Further exhibitions deal with Vietnam and the Arctic.
In addition, playful exhibitions, that challenge body as well as heart and brain, invite families to explore and experience contemporary issues together.
After visiting the City Museum, we go to Brunnsparken and linger a bit in the park and along the canals.
Then we stroll through the mall Nordstan. It is Gothenburg's largest shopping center with countless shops. The probability of getting lost is very high, but fortunately, at the information desk, the competent employees know all the shops and the way to get there.

Wir beginnen mit einem Besuch im Weltkulturmuseum, Världskulturmuseet. Das Museum liegt direkt neben dem Vergnügungspark Liseberg in einem architektonisch interessanten Gebäude, das von den Londoner Architekten Cécile Brisac und Edgar Gonzales entworfen wurde. Es wurde 2004 eröffnet.
Im Unterschied zu den klassischen Museen mit Dauerausstellungen und Exponaten hinter Glasvitrinen, setzt das staatliche Weltkulturmuseum den Schwerpunkt auf Kreativität und modernes Denken. In unkonventioneller und manchmal auch provozierender Weise werden Fragen über globale Themen und Lebensstile aufgeworfen.
Mit diesem Ansatz möchte man auch ein junges Publikum ansprechen. Der Erfolg gibt dem Konzept recht, denn rund 60 Prozent der Besucher sind unter 30 Jahre alt. 2009 wurde das Museum zum Museum des Jahres ernannt, die höchste Auszeichnung, die ein schwedisches Museum erlangen kann.

Darüber hinaus laden spielerische Ausstellungen die ganze Familie ein, zeitgenössische Themen gemeinsam zu erkunden und zu erleben.
Nach unserem Besuch im Weltkulturmuseum gehen wir in Richtung Brunnsparken und verweilen etwas im Park und an den Kanälen.
Anschließend streifen wir durch das Einkaufszentrum Nordstan. Es ist Göteborgs größtes Einkaufszentrum, in dem unzählige verschiedene Geschäfte untergebracht sind. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit sich zu verirren ist sehr hoch, aber glücklicherweise gibt es eine sehr kompetente Information, deren Mitarbeiterinnen alle Geschäfte und den Weg dorthin kennen.

A harbor or harbour (see spelling differences), or haven, is a body of water where ships, boats, and barges can seek shelter from stormy weather, or else are stored for future use.
Harbors can be natural or artificial. An artificial harbor has deliberately constructed breakwaters, sea walls, or jettys, or otherwise, they could have been constructed by dredging, and these require maintenance by further periodic dredging. An example of the artificial harbor is Long Beach Harbor, California, which was an array of salt marshes and tidal flats too shallow for modern merchant ships before it was first dredged in the early 20th century.[1]
In contrast, a natural harbor is surrounded on several sides by prominences of land. Examples of natural harbors include Sydney Harbour, Australia and San Francisco Bay, California.
Gothenburg’s Harbour Tour will show you the City from it’s most magnificent angle. On top of that you see it from one of our beautiful and historical ships dating back to the turn of the 19th century. On board we have a fully licensed Café. The return trip from Maritiman takes four hours in total including a visit to the Volvo Museum.
