Bobby Ilinov in Havana, Cuba (2015) street city tour with old car cabrio
In 2015 with old (vintage/retro) cars Bobby Ilinov toured the main streets and avenues in the Cuban capital Havana - old and new part of town.
Viejo (vintage) coches Bobby Ilinov recorrieron las principales calles y avenidas de la capital cubana de La Habana - viejo y nuevo parte de la ciudad.
In the second half of 2014 US President Barack Obama and the President of Cuba Raul Castro (brother of Fidel Castro) met and signed an agreement on the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries broke down in 1961. A few weeks ago in Washington officially opened the Embassy of Cuba. In the center of the US capital waved the Cuban flag with the star of the revolution against imperialism.
Today, 14 August 2015, US Secretary of State John Kerry was on an official visit to the Cuban capital Havana to personally attend the official opening of the US embassy in Cuba. 70 years ago was the last visit to Cuba by a senior government representative of the leadership of the United States.
Today, 14 August 2015, in my personal facebook blog (with name: Bobby Ilinov traveller) about my travels around the world I publish a recent video from my visit in Havana, Cuba a few days ago.
In September this year launched a regular ferry service between Havana, Cuba and Miami, Florida. So drop a ban that prevented the tenth among US citizens to visit Cuba and back - could not Cubans to visit the United States.
I am happy for that I had the opportunity to visit Cuba and to discuss exactly in this year that will go down in history because it is a landmark in the relations between Cuba and the US, and will inevitably lead to subsequent changes in the life of the Island of Freedom.
Under the sounds of pleasant Cuban music (typical rhythms in slightly chillout version) and rode in a vintage car (a shiny red convertible) offer you with me to make an interesting walk through some of the main streets and boulevards of Havana - in both places new part, as well as places in the old part of the Cuban capital.

French Lake Classic Auto Junk Yard Tour by The Mod Zoo & Mnpctech.com
The Mod Zoo Munkys join Bill Owen from Mnpctech in exploring one of the best Classic Auto salvage & Junk Yards in the United States. French Lake Auto Parts, Inc. is located 60 miles west of Minneapolis and St. Paul in French Lake, Minnesota. We have over 100 acres of cars and trucks ranging from 1900 to present and in all makes in models. Specializing in older vehicles. FLAP, Inc. a world leader in the automotive recycling industry has been family owned since 1956. Specializing in classic auto and truck parts from the 1920 to the present.
Last Friday, I went to one of my top five favorite places: French Lake Auto Parts (FLAP) in Annandale, Minn. This 100-acre salvage yard always has a great selection of early iron that ranges in the thousands of cars, and the inventory is continually changing. Owners Floyd and Skip Nolan keep unearthing new stashes of vintage tin, so the rotating inventory requires frequent visits. Throw in the yard’s popularity and it also means that if you find a 1957 Chevy or 1941 Ford in the yard like your vehicle back home, be sure to get all the parts you need while you’re there, because the car may be gone by your next visit.
My visit was extremely successful. I found some parts for my 1981 Impala coupe that I had been searching for over the past several years and some 1962 Cadillac parts. Unfortunately, all of the 1955 Cadillacs I had previously picked parts off of were gone, but Skip assured me there’s a huge cache of mostly complete cars dating from as far back as the 1930s and up to the 1960s on its way to French Lake. I’ve learned my lesson and will be headed back very soon to check out the fresh vintage metal in hopes of finding a “new” ’55 Cadillac.
The photos below show some of the cars present during my visit on May 10, 2013. There are some shots of cars in the main part of the yard that are getting as long in the tooth as a 1950 Buick grille (thankfully), as well as some of the cars (mostly Mopars and postwar Packards) that were part of a recent 250-car acquisition of project vehicles and a few parts vehicles.

Driving Downtown - Key West 4K - Florida USA
Driving Downtown - Key West Florida USA - Episode 32.
Starting Point: Duval Street - .
Key West is a city in and the county seat of Monroe County, Florida, United States. The city encompasses the island of Key West, the part of Stock Island north of U.S. 1 (the Overseas Highway) (east), Sigsbee Park (north, originally known as Dredgers Key), Fleming Key (north), and Sunset Key (west, originally known as Tank Island). Both Fleming Key and Sigsbee Park are part of Naval Air Station Key West and are inaccessible by civilians. Key West is the county seat of Monroe County.[3] Key West is the southernmost city in the Continental United States. It also contains the southern terminus of U.S. 1, State Road A1A, the East Coast Greenway and, before 1935, the Florida East Coast Railway.
Key West is 129 miles (208 km) southwest (229.9 degrees) of Miami, Florida,[4] (about 160 miles (260 km) by car) and 106 miles (171 km) north-northeast (21.2 degrees) of Havana, Cuba.[5] Cuba, at its closest point, is 94 statute miles (151 km) south.[6] Key West is a seaport destination for many passenger cruise ships.[7] The Key West International Airport provides airline service. Hotels and guest houses are available for lodging. Naval Air Station Key West is an important year round training site for naval aviation due to the superb weather conditions. It is also a reason the city was chosen as the Winter White House of President Harry S. Truman. The central business district primarily comprises Duval Street, and includes much of the northwest corner of the island along Whitehead, Simonton, Front, Greene, Caroline, and Eaton Streets and Truman Avenue. The official city motto is One Human Family.
Points of interest
One of the biggest attractions on the island is a concrete replica of a buoy at the corner of South and Whitehead Streets that claims to be the southernmost point in the contiguous United States (see Extreme Points). Erected in 1983, the famous brightly painted and labeled SOUTHERNMOST POINT CONTINENTAL U.S.A., it is one of the most visited and photographed attractions in Key West.[44]
However, the marker is not located at the southernmost point in the continental United States, as discussed below:
Whitehead Spit, on the Truman Annex property just west of the buoy, is the true southernmost point, but it has no marker since it is U.S. Navy land and cannot be entered by civilian tourists.
The private yards directly to the east of the buoy and the beach areas of Truman Annex and Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park also lie farther south than the buoy.
The farthest-south location that the public can visit is the seaward end of the White Street Pier.
Florida's, and by extension the continental United States', true physically southernmost point is Ballast Key, a private island owned by David W. Wolkowsky, a wealthy developer, about 10 miles (16 km) west of Key West. Although Ballast Key is located within both the Key West National Wildlife Refuge and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, signs on the island strictly prohibit unauthorized visitors.
The claim 90 Miles to Cuba on the monument is close to correct, Cuba at its closest point has been measured at 94 statute miles (151 km) from Key West.
The original Key West settlement on the western part of the island is called Old Town and comprises the Key West Historic District. It includes the major tourist destinations of the island, including Mallory Square, Duval Street, the Truman Annex and Fort Zachary Taylor. It is where are found the classic bungalows and guest mansions.
