La Fundación #Melilla Ciudad Monumental es una institución que se define principalmente por las funciones que desarrolla con respecto a la puesta en valor del patrimonio de la ciudad.
Para alcanzar este objetivo son prioritarias las labores de conservación e investigación así como las de difusión de toda la herencia cultural de nuestro pasado. Un amplio a la par que heterogéneo legado, cuyo origen está unido al de la propia urbe y sus diferentes moradores. Una amalgama de civilizaciones cuya impronta se percibe aún en la #Melilla del siglo XXI.
Melilla, La España ???????? Africana!!!
Melilla es una ciudad autónoma española situada en el norte de África, a orillas del mar Mediterráneo, en el cabo de Tres Forcas.
Enclavada en el corazón de la región del Rif, limita por mar con el Mar de Alborán (al este) y con Marruecos por tierra, concretamente con las comunas de Mariguari y Farhana (al norte y el oeste) y la ciudad de Beni-Enzar (al sur), pertenecientes a la provincia de Nador. También está incluida en la zona geográfica natural de Guelaya.
La ciudad y sus territorios se extienden sobre 12,338 km² de superficie en la parte oriental (este) del cabo de Tres Forcas. Alberga una población de 86 120 habitantes (INE 2017) y presenta diversas particularidades fruto de su posición geográfica y de su historia, tanto en la composición de su población, como en su actividad económica y en su cultura (fruto de la convivencia de cristianos, musulmanes y judíos desde el siglo XIX).
Cuenta con una fortaleza, Melilla La Vieja, construida entre los siglos XVI y XVIII, dotada de almacenes, aljibes, baluartes, fosos, fuertes, cuevas, minas, capillas (una de ellas, la única obra religiosa gótica de África) y hospitales, que hacen de ella la más completa de esta orilla del Mediterráneo, aparte de los fuertes exteriores neomedievales, construidos durante el siglo XIX.
El patrimonio arquitectónico de Melilla, situado en el Ensanche de Melilla, está considerado, por entre otros expertos foráneos Salvador Tarragó, Francisco Miralles, Juan Bassegoda, Fernando Chueca… junto con el de Barcelona y por encima del de Madrid o Valencia, como uno de los mejores exponentes del estilo modernista español de principios del siglo XX.5
Actualmente, recibe cada día una población flotante, principalmente de la provincia marroquí de Nador (personas que vienen de paso, de visita, para el contrabando o a trabajar, principalmente en casas y sector servicios), que hacen que su población casi se duplique en algunas ocasiones.

Melilla (Spanish pronunciation: [meˈliʎa]) is a Spanish city and an exclave located on the north coast of Africa, sharing a border with Moroccowith an area of 12.3 square kilometres (4.7 sq mi). Melilla, along with Ceuta, is one of two permanently inhabited Spanish cities in mainland Africa. It was part of Málaga province until 14 March 1995, when the city's Statute of Autonomy was passed.
Melilla, like Ceuta, was a free port before Spain joined the European Union. As of 2011 it had a population of 78,476 made up of Christians, Muslims (chiefly Riffians), and a small number of Jews. Both Spanish and Riffian are widely spoken, with Spanish as the only official language.
Melilla is located in the northwest of the African continent, next to the Alboran Sea and across the sea from the Spanish provinces of Granadaand Almería. The city layout is arranged in a wide semicircle around the beach and the Port of Melilla, on the eastern side of the peninsula ofCape Tres Forcas, at the foot of Mount Gurugú and the mouth of the Río de Oro, 1-metre above sea level. The urban nucleus was originally afortress, Melilla la Vieja, built on a peninsular mound about 30 m in height.
The Moroccan settlement of Beni Ansar lies immediately south of Melilla. The nearest Moroccan city is Nador, and the ports of Melilla andNador are both within the Bou Areg Lagoon
