Driving Around: DUNEDIN and SAFETY HARBOR, Florida
Come with me as I take you on a scenic drive through 2 beautiful towns on the Gulf Coast of Florida near Tampa. We begin our exploration in Dunedin at the Dunedin Pier situated near Bon Appetit Restaurant & Bar and overlooking Dunedin Channel. We pass the Olde Bay Cafe & Dunedin Fish Market near Edgewater Park. Heading down Edgewater Drive (Alt 19), we pass beautiful waterfront homes and come to the historic Fenway Hotel. A drive down Main Street takes us past restaurants, shops, and clubs. We drive down Broadway and stop at the Stirling Commons to take a look around the art gallery which is also home to the Penny Lane Beatles Museum. Heading north on Broadway takes us past several microbreweries and over to Honeymoon Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. As night falls, we find ourselves in Safety Harbor which is on Tampa Bay. Holiday decorations adorn John Wilson Park. Driving down lively Main Street we come to the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa.

DUNEDIN
Dunedin /dəˈniːdɪn/ is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The name comes from Dùn Èideann, the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Dunedin is the 5th largest city in Pinellas County.
Dunedin is home to several beaches, including Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island, and Caladesi Island State Park, which is consistently rated among the best beaches in the world. Dunedin is one of the few open waterfront communities from Sarasota to Cedar Key where buildings do not completely obscure the view of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico beyond; a 1-mile (1.6 km) stretch of Edgewater Drive (also known as Alternate US 19) south of downtown offers views of St. Joseph Sound, Clearwater Beach, and Caladesi Island. Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach are a 6-mile (10 km) drive south on Edgewater.
The downtown business district is notable for its absence of large commercial signage, corporate franchise restaurants or chain retail stores. The Pinellas Trail, a 39-mile-long (63 km) bicycle and pedestrian trail that traverses all of Pinellas County, bisects downtown Dunedin. A large portion of the trail lies on the former roadbed of the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad in Pinellas County, which arrived in 1888.
Since 1977, Dunedin is the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. Dunedin is one of the smallest communities used by Major League spring training teams, although surrounded by a large metropolitan area. Dunedin Stadium is situated next to the Dunedin Public Library a few blocks south of downtown on Douglas Avenue, and is just two blocks east of Edgewater Drive. The stadium was built as a replacement to Grant Field, the Blue Jays' first spring training ball park. The library was founded in 1895 and is the oldest public library in Pinellas County.
Until early 2005, Dunedin was the home of Nielsen Media Research's production operations. The city is home to multiple breweries including Dunedin Brewery, Florida's oldest microbrewery.
SAFETY HARBOR
Safety Harbor is a city on the west shore of Tampa Bay in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. It was incorporated in 1917. Safety Harbor's tree-lined streets and quaint, small-town appearance are unusual in heavily urbanized Pinellas County.
The area has been inhabited since the Stone Age. In June 2008, a 6,000-year-old spearhead was found at Marshall Street Park. The inhabitants of the area at the time of Spanish exploration were the Tocobaga people, who lived in villages around Tampa Bay. The adaptation of this culture relied on wild resources. Safety Harbor sites have yielded pottery, and artifacts of copper, shell, and stone. The Tocobaga were known for constructing various ceremonial and communal mounds to bury the dead. Most of these mounds were destroyed in the early 1900s due to development. However, one of these ceremonial mounds is still visible in Safety Harbor's Phillippe Park. Shells found in these mounds were used to pave city streets.
In 1528 Spanish explorer Pánfilo de Narváez landed in the area, followed by Hernando de Soto in 1539. Safety Harbor (formerly known as Worth's Harbor) was first homesteaded by Count Odet Philippe, a French nobleman who is credited with introducing the grapefruit to Florida in 1823. The name Safety Harbor originated from the early 18th century, when pirates were a substantial influence in the area. Once ships reached this area of the bay, all threats from pirates were gone, and it was commonly referred to as a Safe Harbor.

Interstate 75 Through Florida: State Line to Tampa, I-275
Here's a look at the drive southbound into Florida on Interstate 75. The drive begins at the Florida/Georgia state line, and continues down I-75, past the Florida Turnpike, and on to Hillsborough County. From there, I-275 heads towards downtown Tampa, Florida. I exited at Hillsborough Avenue, US 92, just before downtown, ending the drive. This entire drive is about 210 miles and takes about 3 hours in real time, but this video gets it done in 24 minutes!
I made this trip in August-September 2019.

MacDill Mold, Imagine Clearwater, Giving Tuesday
By Nick Ravins
MacDill Mold
Mold at MacDill Air Force Base has gotten so bad, the United States Senate had to hold a hearing about it this Tuesday.
An attorney representing military families filed a lawsuit over negligence. The suit claims mold is making these families sick.
Families at MacDill have been complaining for over a year about excessive mold, rodent infestations and gas leaks.
Now a bill is making its way through Congress to give base commanders more power over private companies that oversee military housing.
Imagine Clearwater
Clearwater is ready to unveil the city's future development strategy.

The first meeting is Tuesday December 3 at 6 p.m. at the main Clearwater library at 100 North Osceola Ave.
The second meeting is December 4 at 6 p.m. at the Countryside Library at 2642 Sabal Springs Dr.
The third meeting is December 7 at 11 a.m. at Countryside Mall at 27001 U.S. Hwhy 19 N.
The final meeting is December 10 at 6 p.m. at North Greenwood Recreation Center at 900 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
GivingTuesday
GivingTuesday is a movement that transforms their communities and they are working in Tampa on December 3, 2019.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
The organization has also created a directory to help people find local charitable organizations and events.
Sew-a-Thon
Keep Me In Stitches Florida is hosting their annual two-day Sew-a-Thon.
The organization plans to help create crate blankets and bandanas for the pets at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
Hopeful participants can join tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All supplies are provided.

✅SEASON 1 EPISODE 5:
Our #Journey takes us to the Gulf Coast Beaches Florida! There are so many things to do in Florida, so we decided for clear skies and beaches with the clearest water to change it up a bit. We ventured to Navarre Beach and Lido Shores, in the Keys just west of Sarasota out in the Gulf!
Navarre Beach is a hidden gem on the panhandle that is slowly becoming more popular. The beaches are snow white and the waters are clear blue! We highly recommend people visiting theses gulf coast beaches!
Next we went RV Shopping gulf coast style in Sarasota, Florida then took a trip to the Keys there to grab lunch and explore the area a bit! The place we ate at was called New Pass Bait House and Grill. Definitely a locals and boaters stop. Cheap food, local beers and amazing views!
