48 Hours In Dutchess County, New York State Road Trip, USA
Dutchess County, New York.,
Our USA vacation and we are exploring New York State.
For the first time, we headed out of New York City and followed the Hudson River up to Dutchess County, New York.
We drove from JFK to Dutchess county which was a simple one and half to two hour drive north. Although it was cloudy it stayed dry and we missed the intense heat which affected the US open tennis a few days before our visit.
Our first stop was at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome which was holding their weekly airshow before we headed off to try some bourbon.
Dutchess County has some good wine and we did visit a couple of the vineyards - Millbrook vineyard and Clinton vineyard. As well as good wine the food was pretty good too.
There is a lot of US history around the Hudson Valley and in Dutchess County, it was the home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. We visited Staatsburgh State Historic Site and the Mills mansion, which was the Gilded Age country home of Ogden Mills and Ruth Livingston Mills.
We stayed in the Red Hook Country Inn and the historic Old Rhinebeck Inn which are both very different to the bland corporate style hotels.
We spent 48 hours in Dutchess County and only had a brief taste of what there is to do in the county but there is far more to see and do. It is definitely worth a trip out of New York, just follow that river north.
What we did in Dutchess County.
0:25 The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, airshow.
1:55 Bourbon tasting at Taconic Distillery.
2:45 The Red Hook Country Inn, where we stayed Day One.
3:10 Red Hook, Sunday morning.
3:55 Mills Mansion, Staatsburgh State Historic Site.
5:57 Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, Millbrook, NY.
7:08 Clinton Vineyards, Clinton Corners, NY.
7:39 Old Rhinebeck Inn, where we stayed Day Two.
8:21 Sprout Creek Farm, Poughkeepsie, NY.

After the vist to the FD & E R Library...Franck took his friends to CLinton Corners Winery Vineyards where Phyllis Feder gave a fabulous tour and showed the vineyards to the tourists. The Clinton vineyards is a must place to visit. Check out their fine wines- all are superb and appropriate for high end dining at home. Check out this Flip video!
Privatve Clubs of New York Part 3 -- New York Athletic Club -- filmed Friday April 14, 2017
New York Athletic Club The City House, located at 180 Central Park South, is a large, cavernous building built in the early twentieth century which offers panoramic views of Central Park. Designed by Charles W. Clinton, the 24-floor facility includes two restaurants, a cocktail lounge, library, ballroom, billiard room, meeting rooms, rooftop solarium, and eight floors of guest rooms for members and club guests. The athletic training floors include a swimming pool, basketball courts, boxing rings, a fencing and wrestling room, judo floor, and squash courts.
NYAC headquarters in Manhattan Named for Wall Street businessman William R. Travers who arranged for its purchase in 1886, Travers Island is the NYAC's summer facility on Long Island Sound. It consists of the main house, other buildings and facilities that sit on 30 acres (120,000 m2) of landscaped grounds. Centered around the Main House, the Olympic-sized salt water pool, and accompanying cabanas, Travers Island extends the range of NYAC sports to include tennis, rowing, yachting, outdoor swimming and diving, a children's day camp, rugby, soccer, croquet, and lacrosse.
In 1866, William Buckingham Curtis, Harry Buermeyer, and John C. Babcock opened a gymnasium on the corner of 6th Avenue and 14th Street in their New York City apartment, after discussing the rapid rise of organized athletics in England. Interest in their gym grew, and the three men decided to found the New York Athletic Club on September 8, 1868. The club was modeled after the London Athletic Club. Their goal was to sponsor athletic competitions in the New York area, and to keep official records for different sports. The NYAC was established on September 8, 1868. Its Constitution and Bylaws were adopted in December 1868. In the beginning there was no initiation fee, but $10 was required for the first six months of dues.
In 1879, at which time it had 170 members, it published rules in various amateur sports, including fencing, sparring, and Greco-Roman wrestling. The NYAC can be considered the foundation for amateur athletics in the United States. It was the first organization to compile and apply a code of rules for the government of athletic meetings, the first to offer prizes for open amateur games, and the first to hold an amateur championship.
NYAC members have won 119 Olympic gold medals, 53 silver medals, and 59 bronze medals. Presently, the NYAC has top-ranked competitors in wrestling, judo, rowing, fencing, water polo and track and field, among other sports. Forty NYAC members competed for three countries at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, winning 16 medals.

President Obama chooses Merrick Garland for US Supreme Court as ‘consensus’ candidate - TomoNews
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Merrick Garland has been nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. A visibly emotional Garland, who is presently chief judge of the U.S. Appeals Court for the District of Columbia, said it was the “highest honor of his life” to be considered for the top court.
Garland was tapped to replace the late Antonin Gregory Scalia, who served on the Supreme Court from 1986 until his death earlier this year. But Republican leaders have argued the next president should pick Scalia’s replacement.
Democrats screamed a bit less loudly about GOP obstructionism as the public discovered they had done pretty much the same thing. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell went so far as to call the GOP’s refusal to vote on an Obama nominee, “The Biden Rule,” citing statements then-Senator Joe Biden made about a George W. Bush court pick in an election year.
Obama said he’d pick a “consensus” candidate, and from a Democrat's view, Judge Garland is about as consensus as it gets. Born in Chicago in 1952, Garland has an impressive resume: Harvard grad, clerk for Supreme Court Justice William Brennan, federal prosecutor for the Oklahoma City bombers trial and current DC chief appeals court justice.
Which is all well and good, but are both sides just playing games? The GOP says they won’t vote, and there’s little evidence that stance will change. Garland isn’t a true “liberal,” some progressives argue, and at 63, he’s “old.”
Does Obama even want Garland on the court? Or is he using him to make Republicans look bad? Either way, the GOP will need to start some serious thinking about the corner they’ve painted themselves into. Would it be better to confirm Garland rather than risk a possible Hillary Clinton pick? Both sides are committed and will play hardball all the way til November. But do you think either side is truly acting on principle? Or are we just being treated to more pointless political theater?

Catholic Church sex abuse scandals around the world
Costs of sex abuse crisis to US church underestimated
The U.S. Catholic church has incurred nearly $4 billion in costs related to the priest sex abuse crisis during the past 65 years, according to an extensive NCR investigation of media reports, databases and church documents.
In addition, separate research recently published calculates that other scandal-related consequences such as lost membership and diverted giving has cost the church more than $2.3 billion annually for the past 30 years.
ANGELINA JOLIE: ILLUMINATI RITUALS & HOLLYWOOD SEX LIST REVEALED!
A “sex list written by Angelina Jolie” in the 1990s has been posted by the same source that last month leaked a video of the star describing Hollywood Illuminati rituals she participated in early in her career.
The list, written in scrawled handwriting, features household name celebrities including Tom Cruise, Nikole (sic) Kidman, and Charlie Sheen, and Johnny Depp.
Last month a stunning video surfaced in which a 23-year-old Angelina Jolie reveals the true inner workings of Hollywood as she describes her experiences participating in “secret illuminati rituals” to close friends.
One of Jolie’s friends also states that she has “the most amazing compromising pictures” of celebrities, leading many to believe that these photos may be leaked next.
SOURCE: FBI HAS EVIDENCE HILLARY VISITED 'ORGY ISLAND'
Citing a “well-placed source” in the New York Police Department, Blackwater USA founder and retired Navy SEAL Erik Prince claims that among the 650,000 Huma Abedin emails on her estranged husband’s laptop is evidence Hillary Clinton, as well as former President Bill Clinton, was a visitor to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s Caribbean hideaway, known as “Orgy Island.”
“They found State Department emails,” he said of FBI investigators. “They found a lot of other really damning criminal information, including money laundering, including the fact that Hillary went to this sex island with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bill Clinton went there more than 20 times. Hillary Clinton went there at least six times.”
Since Weinstein, Here’s a Growing List of Men Accused of Sexual Misconduct
In early October, reports surfaced that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein allegedly sexually harassed or assaulted multiple women over decades.
The public condemnation of Weinstein has seemingly emboldened others to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against celebrities — with studios, networks and major companies responding — in what some have dubbed the “Weinstein ripple effect.”
Here’s a list of high-profile men who have been accused of sexual harassment, assault or both in the wake of the Weinstein scandal

Rev_2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Rev_14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Rev_17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
Rev_17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev_18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev_18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Rev_18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Rev_19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Central New York: Brew Central – Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard
The unique characteristics of Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard stretch well beyond the 125-year-old, water-powered apple press it uses today. In addition to its beginnings brewing hard ciders, the mill also fueled the growing local beer market through the second half of the 19th century.
The Fly Creek Cider Mill inspired development of otherbrewing-related industries during Central New York’s legendary hop boom that peaked around the turn of the 20th century. Manufacturers made everything from the rakes and buckets used to harvest the hops to the stoves needed to dry them.
The last of eight of those structures to stand, Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard produces lines of hard cider and apple wines today in homage to its prestigious past as a brew producer and integral role in the Central New York hop movement.
Bill: My dad was a carpenter, my mom was a high school art teacher, and they needed a home so they bought the whole facility for just the home up on the corner. The gentleman who sold them the mill still lived next door, so he would come over and get in my dad's ear on how big the place used to be, and tell him about the big lines of people waiting to have their apples pressed. Well, that started my dad's entrepreneurial bug and they started fixing it up. It just grew, slow, slow incremental growth, until eventually it became their full-time business. We're a 32-inch press made in 1889 from the Boomer Mosher company in Syracuse, New York. It's the traditional rack and cloth method. That means we lay your ground apples in cloths between plastic racks that used to be oak, but now they're plastic. Our grinder is powered by a 1924 Waterloo Boy tractor engine. We're almost completely off the grid when we're making our product.
Making cider on the original equipment, showing people how things were done in the late 1800's is what touches me in my heart. What we wanted to do with the farm winery license is reconnect with our roots, use our traditional equipment to make sweet cider and then ferment it. We really wanted to bring the process back, I guess you would say, to what it was historically, but with a new twist with our apple wines, our black currant apple wine. We have apple cherry, we have apple cranberry, also an apple and strawberry. It's a realm of apple-based products that we can sell and serve here and expose customers to products that are new to them, but were common in the past.
Dave: We make the apple frost, and we make some experimental type small volume wines to see what direction we may want to go. The apple frost is what we spend most of our time on because that's a very labor-intensive process. We start out with pressing the apples in the fall, and we through what's referred to as a process of cryo-extraction. We freeze the juice, then thaw the juice, then freeze it, and thaw it for a couple months well into winter. It concentrates the flavors and the sugars. The yield on that is probably about 15 or 20%. It's a very flavorful juice. It takes at least 6 months, if not closer to a year sometimes to be ready to bottle it.
Bill: We welcome about 150,000 visitors here annually. Coming in, they think of us as a historic attraction. Once they pass through the door, they actually see our other side which is a gourmet specialty foods, baked goods, dips, marinades. We offer more than 40 samples. They get a full flavor profile of all the products that we offer, and having a great family fun experience right in the heart of central New York.
Whether tipping a farm-to-glass beer at a brewpub, sampling some moonshine or enjoying a sip of hard cider or wine, you’ll be a part of something special in Brew Central. Central New York brewers, distillers, publicans and vintners offer the state’s best craft beverages on par with any of the United States’ finest pints. On Wednesday, William B. Taylor Jr., the acting ambassador to Ukraine, and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state responsible for Ukraine, testified. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday their testimony “corroborated evidence of bribery” by President Trump. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B.
