Enjoy a relaxing journey along the coast of Maine. From Boothbay Harbor, to Lubec, we visit many lighthouses and harbors, including Bar Harbor, along the coast of Maine. The lighthouses include some from as far north as the West Quoddy Lighthouse in Lubec to the Portland Light in Portland to the Nubbel Light in Cape Neddick.

Christmas is Starting Now with Gardens Aglow!
Christmas is kinda starting now so we went to a Christmas Light display that we've been meaning to go to for the past few years. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor, Maine has an event called Gardens Aglow, where you'll see 650,000 lights ornamenting the central gardens with over 300 trees wrapped in lights!
We also saw model trains in the warm and cozy train station, the Aurora Borealis display in the butterfly house, root sculptures decorated in lights, fairy houses lining the path as you first cross the bridge, moose, deer and beaver sculptures also wrapped in lights and of course, lots of yummy treats!
It was a cold outside but the festive feel and time spent together to kick off the Holiday season made it perfect!

Hi! We are a family of three, Christie, Jason & Owen. We sold our house in September of 2019 and started homeschooling Owen so we could spend more quality time together!
This channel was created as a way to get us to be more adventurous and to record and share our fun with anyone else who enjoys the same things.
We are exploring our home state of Maine more in depth, as well as New England on the whole.
It's a beautiful world out there and sometimes the most fun is right in your own backyard!

George Sherwood, Kinetic Sculptor. Wind and Light - Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Summer 2008, Boothbay, Maine.
Sherwood's sculptures are based on movement that is both subtle and obvious. At times it appears his sculptures do not move at all, and at other times they are a flurry of activity reminiscent of the tall swaying plumes of late-season cimicfuga in an autumn breeze. His work is made exclusively of stainless steel, the reflective qualities of which integrate the sculpture into its environment. Wind speed and direction, shades of light, time of day, precipitation, and seasonal color transform the qualities of light and movement. As stated by curator June LaCombe, his sculpture, exemplifies art for an ecological age. Further, she states, [Sherwood's] sculpture celebrates botanical forms and patterns in nature with proportional harmony.
Sherwood's work is part of the permanent collection at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine, and the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, Vermont. In 2004, he exhibited at Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish, New Hampshire and in 2009 at the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2007 he was awarded the Lillian Heller award for Contemporary Art at Chesterwood in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Sherwood is a member of Boston Sculptors Gallery and the Royal Society of British Sculptors. He is represented in collections throughout the United States and Europe.
Sherwood lives and works in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
